Radisson Blu Hotel, Berlin

The hotel is shaped like an American prison. The fish tank in the middle is meant to disguise this fact. The windows of the rooms face each other, so you see into most of the other guests' rooms, unless they have their heavy curtains drawn. The echo created by the shape of the hotel and the concrete floor on which it sits makes for a noisy environment. The music in or next to the hotel is playing until about 1 am, keeping you awake; even after that you hear people talking or laughing loudly and you hear noises like someone is chopping wood or firing an air gun, a hollow thud of sorts. This can go on until 2 or 3 am. Even after your room is cleaned the bathroom reeks of urine all the time. The carpet in the room is old and shabby and the walls need a new coat of paint. I had multiple instances of confusion with room service. My last night, they brought 2 meals instead of 1 and charged me for both. I was too tired to argue. I just paid twice of what I thought I ordered. The guy who delivers room service did not speak English. (But some did speak English). The curtains have a strong smell of some disinfectant or some such. If you touch them, your hands will also catch this smell. The buffet at hEat servers eggs that are barely warm or cold. If the staff at hEat wants to ignore you, they will. I was ignored for about 7 minutes, while standing right in front of the hostess who never made an eye contact and the waiter who was standing next to her. I complained to the front desk.

Incredible location with beautiful, comfortable facilities. If you're visiting Berlin, the Radisson Blu is a no-brainer!

This is a very nice and modern hotel. It is situated perfectly within walking distance of most of the must see buildings and museums. It has a wide selection of restaurants and shopping opportunities around it. The staff was always very friendly and professional. The rooms were clean upon arrival and were kept clean during our stay. I would gladly recommend this hotel to a friend. I am hard pressed to find anything that I would consider negative about this hotel. The one thing would be that the lobby can get a bit busy at times. This is a large hotel with substantial customer turnaround. In addition to that the impressive (Gigantic) lobby aquarium draws quite a few people to look upon it many non guests coming off the main street (Karl-Liebknecht Str.) in front of the hotel. Management has posted signs allowing guest access only as of a certain point but there is only so much they can do. But please do not be deterred by this it only happens from time to time and is really not that big of a deal.

The size of the Standard room is really quite small. For our 5 night stay we had a queen bedded room that had a chair and small table. Not much room on either side of the bed. After staying in other Radisson Blu hotels and being a Carlson Club member, I guess I just expected more. The water temperature was also inconsistent, changing from boiling hot to ice cold when taking a shower. The location is fabulous and the room was clean. WiFi was good and elevators ran well. Perhaps if we had booked an upgraded room from the Standard we would have been happier.

Great location, nice staff fluent in English, room spacious and very comfortable with clean and modern finishes. Bed and pillows very comfortable. And yes.. very impressive fish tank in the lobby! The wellness center in the basement is great with 2 saunas and a steam room, nice pool. Sauna/steam are mixed use male/female with no clothing allowed--welcome to Berlin!

We had a very good time overall, we took the room without no food, which made the package even cheaper, and basically there is a good pool and Jacuzzi, great and big room, good bed size, the hotel is on the main street which is also advantage, recommend it to everyone. Another thing is that there is a info service in the lobby, which very helped us on the trip and I'm sure also could help everyone else.

Good location. Nice Finnish sauna and steam. Friendly staff.

From the moment we arrived, the staff were wonderful and we were treated as such. The room was a nice size, clean and comfortable. The location was perfect....walking distance to so much to see and do plus close to transportation. The cabs were right outside the hotel and on the bus line. The hotel was so beautiful.....I surprised my Granddaughter with the gigantic, inside aquarium....she couldn't get over it and took so many pictures of it and the hotel! Definitely, when we return to Berlin, we will be staying at this hotel.

Really great location near everything. Couldn't check in early but they had a gym showers and locker room which was convenient after our over night flight from the states. Would stay here again.

It is nicely located, surrounded by nice places to go. The fish tank is one of a kind, making take elevator a joy. If you take a train from the airport, it is a bit hard to find at the stop, but maybe a little map and landmark beforehand is helpful. In all, we loved hotel.

This was my first stay with the Radisson Blu group for business. Excellent location as I wanted to visit the Pergamon Museum. Housecleaning and Breakfast staff were excellent. Concierge services were professional. I highly recommend the hotel restaurant as the area lacks quality restaurants. My room was very comfortable with the added benefit of free WiFi. Unfortunately, the fitness center was low standard. American travelers will be disappointed. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for both business and vacation travelers.

Good overall but small rooms... Good location right on the canal.

We were traveling for leisure and this was out last hotel of many in France, Switzerland and Germany. An excellent place to end a trip and the best by far of all we had stayed. Rooms and bathrooms beautiful, good size and clean. Great location, hop on hop off bus and water taxi at your doorstep. We had business class room on the river with wonderful view. Maid service was great, our room was always made up by the time we got back from breakfast. Only problem we had is they have high security with room keys and in the four days we were there, had to have 3 new keys made because they wouldn't work properly. You have to have a key to get up in elevator and it only goes to your floor. We had friends we wanted to visit on another floor and couldn't get there without re-keying our room. Would suggest requesting rooms on the same floor if traveling with others. Also, people had trouble with their keys working in the elevator. We ate in their restaurant 3 nights and it was good also with nice view of the river. All in all would highly recommend this hotel.

Was in for a few days of sightseeing, this place in a fantastic location for walking to most places and different neighborhoods, with Alexanderplatz (subway) 5 minutes away. Very modern hotel, spacious lobby with nice bar/restaurant, and helpful staff.

Service was very professional. Rooms were clean. Disappointed that the sushi bar is gone as it was excellent! My wife and I stay because primarily because the rooms have a view into the 1 million liter aquarium..

The reception clerk, porter, concierge and waitstaff were all smiles as soon as we entered. Concierge service was excellent (not put off when we said, "Not too much money!"); porters/valets gave us walking, train, and taxi directions; reception desk was always open and friendly. The location right by the Spree, Museum Island, and Hackescher Markt meant we were truly in the heart of it all.
