Steigenberger Hotel Am Kanzleramt

Very comfortable room. The staff were very kind. The service was great. Recommended.

Great location with proximity to everything. Super nice breakfast as well.

We spent 4 nights at the Steigenberger which is located conveniently immediately next to the main train station. Several attractions are in walking distance (Brandenburg Gate, Chancellors Office, Reichstag, River Spree), and everything else can easily be reached by public transport. We had booked a junior suite which was amazingly spacious especially for a European hotel in this location. The room was clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Like with other Steigenberger hotels we have stayed in in the past the breakfast buffet is simply outstanding (never seen anything like this with other hotels). Unfortunately and not at fault of the hotel a large office building is under construction across the street which will soon obscure the view of the Reichstag, but at this point the scenery is quite nice considering proximity of the busy main train station. We would definitely stay here again next time we visit Berlin.

Right next to the Berlin Hauptbahnhof (central station) and the Reichstag building (Parliament Building) and the Spree (major river through Berlin, the wall used to stand alongside it). If you enjoy walking, it's also a lovely walk along the spree to museum island and many other common touristy places. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Exactly what we needed on our vacation. A note about American vs European bedsizes: When I booked the flight and hotel together there was no way to specify that it would be both me and my husband staying there, nor did I see anything about "queen" or "king" sized bed so I booked "1 double bed" and made a note that my husband would be meeting me in Berlin and hoped for the best. We got 2 twin beds that were hooked together with a shared headboard, which amounted to 1 big bed that was about the size of an an American queen/king. We found it very comfortable, but just thought I'd let people know in case there are other American couples curious what they might expect. From some brief googling this is a pretty common practice throughout Europe.

We spent the weekend in Berlin, and arrived via train (ICE) from Frankfurt. The hotel was across the street from the train station (if you went out the right door) Hotel was clean, up-to date, and staff helped with connection and dinner recommendations. Once we got the hang of the rail system (subway & streetcar) this was the perfect place to be. Reichstag park right nearby, and a few minutes walk from the Freidrichstrasse station where our tour started.

The Steigenberger Hotel Am Kanzleramt is located on a quiet street, lined with other hotels, steps from Central Train Station (rooms facing the Ignore park can be loud because of constriction work held nearby, though the two sets of windows help). This section of Berlin is a walkable area chock-a-block with main attractions nearby. The furnishings are very modern and comfortable (for those days when you wish to stay in). The bathroom is spacious (no tub, just shower). There is a nice lounge and terrific breakfast is served. The staff is lovely. The only downfall is wifi and internet services. The internet at the business room hardly worked.

The wifi in the hotel does not work. The free internet offered at the business room (4 good iMacs) hardly works. They make you go one floor down to get a code, which should last 30 minutes. The thing is that the code hardly works. you get repeated messages saying that the code is not valid. You go down once, get another code, go up again, just to find that this one is not valid too. On one occasion I had to do this 5 times. Apart from that, all other services provided by this hotel are good. Just good. Nothing is more than that, except maybe the breakfast which is excellent.

Great location and great breakfast. Very kind staff.

Rooms unbearably hot. Had to walk through haze of cigarette smoke in lobby. Overall rooms ok

Hotel was nice and staff very friendly. Great location across from main train station, easy to get any where in city. Only complaint is that for a new hotel it had no USB ports for charging. As a hotel that catered to business and leisure travel this was a bit of a disappointment but would not prevent me from staying again.

Quick check in with an upgrade. Beautiful clean room. Next to central station and we walked to most destinations. Parking €29 a night. Street parking available on weekends for free.

We loved everything about it, especially the location. The breakfast in the morning is amazing!

Great place, conveniently located. Fabulous buffet breakfast.

Wonderful hotel, great food, great staff. But if you are trying to use the internet I would suggest a different hotel!

During our stay at hotel for 4 days time ,we had wifi problem which hotel can not solve. Meals at restaurant&bar was terrible.

Quiet area but right next to train station and walking distance to the nicest sites! Loved this hotel!

Great location superclose to train station and taxis and restaurants. Modern and very friendly.
