Just for a stop-over I booked this place for one night. A clean and really five-star-hotel. It offers more than I needed. Although absolutely downtown and close to river Rhine, my room was absolutely quiet. I made a mistake in booking very short time, but wrong date, and the hotel resolved this problem easily without any fees. Thank you!

Very comfortable hotel with very striking lobby good evening meal and one of best breakfasts I have had in any hotel nice staff and good location on the rhine only slight downside was poor and weak wifi otherwise would get 5 stars

We stayed here for one night at the end of a river cruise. This is a large hotel situated on the banks of the Rhine within a short walk of both the railway station and the cathedral. The central ground floor of the hotel is within a spectacular atrium off which are the restaurants and shops. The rooms are reached by means of glass sided lifts which overlook the atrium. The rooms are modern and comfortable with a very high tech push button operated shower. The dinner was excellent and the buffet breakfast varied and well prepared.

The Maritim hotel is a big hotel in Cologne. It is very central and close to most things (cathedral etc). This was a business trip and it was comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful. It was quite pricey though.

Stayed for one night. Vast old warehouse with huge quite attractive atrium. Room adequate although stuffy and smelt of stale smoke despite being "non-smoking". Well located for cathedral etc. Buffet dinner not good but breakfast better.

The Maritim Hotel Cologne offers very good service and quality for the money. They have clean rooms which are spacious and include everything you could need, good restaurant service, great bar area and very nice lobby, great view from the top of the hotel and last not least a great location close to the "Altstadt" (Old Town) and the river Rhein (Rhine). Also you can walk over the Deutzer Brücke (Bridge) directly from the hotel and enjoy the gorgeous views from there. In my opinion this hotel clearly deserves to be among the cities´ Top Ten hotels!

Hotel was beautifully designed and very comforting. The pool and spa were exceptional and the staff was great. The hotel is centrally located to all rests and pubs. Overall an exceptional stay. Rooms were very comfortable and very clean. Bathrooms were super modern with a nice twist!

If you are traveling by train, you would love this hotel's location; it is across from the central station. Unlike the hustle bustle of the Cathedral side, south side is rather quiet. The hotel is comfortable. My husband was not feeling well and they told us we could check out at 3 p.m., in stead if 12 noon. Thank you!

In a great location excellent views of the Rhine at one side and the Cathedral at the other. Reception staff very helpful as are the restaurant staff and a great buffet breakfast Drinks are a bit on expensive side but no more than expected from a city hotel

I was recently in Cologne (Koln as the locals call it) for work. This is probably my sixth trip to this fun European city and I've stayed in several locations. While the Maritim isn't the most luxurious I've stayed at, it certainly ticked the boxes for convenience. It is walking distance from the train station and lovely old cathedral (15 minutes cobblestone walk through old town) and has a train stop to the Messe (convention center, and about a 2 mile walk which is also very doable and flat with fantastic cathedral and city views as you cross the famed locket bridge) literally out its front door, and right across from that train stop are two of the main squares with restaurants and fantastic people watching. The rooms are well appointed with comfortable beds/comforters, mini bar/snacks, sitting area, decent amount of plugs (though US folks will need to remember their European adapters), and a flat screen tv (only English speaking channels I could find were CNN and BBC world - but they do when biz traveling). My colleague was on the 7th floor and had a view of the river and cathedral. I was on the third floor and had a view of the inner courtyard. The shower area is nice (very modern with disco lights... and two different shower heads) and the towels fresh and fluffy (big plus). They have several eating establishments - I only saw one open when I was looking through (Stuff) and it had a pleasant staff and decent menu (currywurst for the win). There is a coffee shop right next to the train station and two starbucks within a mile - for that early caffeine fix. The fitness area had one treadmill, one elliptical, one recumbent bike, and one regular bike and a free weight stand. It opened at 7am - which I would have liked earlier, but of the three days I went in I only had company once. There was a decent sized indoor pool as well to do laps if you're so inclined. The convenience alone (and the shower disco lights, I'm not going to lie) would have me stay here again.
