Another great stay attending ism this hotel situated central for bars/restuarant staff are always helpful and polite rooms on the inside can get very warm outside facing rooms are great if room is to warm just open a window breakfast plentyful and the hotels own cafe makes the best lattas
Stayed here overnight with a tour group travelling by train to/from Austria in both directions of the trip. Hotel is well located for the train station and also to see the cathedral and riverfront. Was very impressed on outward journey - hotel was beautifully decorated for the Xmas period, we had a very nice double room, and both the evening meal (set menu for tour group) and buffet breakfast were excellent. Have marked it down a notch however for the room we were allocated on the return leg of the journey; it was located on either the ground or first floor (not sure which, but at lobby level) directly behind the row of cafes/shops/offices etc. The first off-putting factor was the strong smell of stale cooking pervading the corridor, and also the sight of trolleys being wheeled along and into the back entrances of the various cafes, where the view of kitchens was not very appealing! The bathroom to this room was also quite small, and the room was alongside quite a noisy main road. Evening meal however was again excellent with fast and friendly service, and the buffet breakfast is plentiful and varied to suit all tastes. A good hotel for a short city break in Cologne.
We stayed at this hotel in November 17 it's a lovely central hotel, excellent location. We could see the Dom from our window. Big spacious room with a fantastic shower! We had to ask for a kettle each day which was frustrating but that was the only negative aspect. Would recommend and would stay again.
We visited this hotel in December, had upgraded our room to a Senior Suite as there was three of us and I have to say the room was really fabulous with great views and a really large wrap around balcony as we were in a corner room. The room was large and very comfortable with lots of widows. Beds very comfortable, and bathroom was great with mood lighting and music. We did visit the bar in the evenings and it was lovely to wind down after a busy day. Staff in the bar were very nice with exception to one lady on our last day we came back and thought we would go into the bar to use the bathrooms as for some strange reason there are no facilities for guests regarding bathrooms in the building unless you go to your room, use the ones in the bar and if the bar isn't open which it isn't in the day you have to go upstairs into a food restaurant and queue for one small toilet which in a hotel this size thats not really acceptable. We went to this bar in the day only to be pointed rudely out with go upstairs to the right toilet there.... after looking for a while we located it in the restaurant. Reception staff were very helpful and pleasant. Overall a great location, impressive hotel with really nice rooms we will definitely re visit.
Probably one of the nicest hotel rooms we have ever stayed in. The facilities in the room where second to none and the view was fantastic. We could look out at the cathedral, the river, and the Christmas Market! The bar in the evening was lovely. The only thing that I could fault the hotel for was the lack of bar facilities in the daytime and the fact that with no bar open during the day there was only one small toilet in the coffee. If we do get back to this lovely city we will stay at this hotel again. Well done guys.
We were very well treated here: although we found the room stuffy, when we said this we were moved to a room with a view over the Rhine and fresh air. Wonderful facilities, and very thoughtful staff. Also convenient location The staff realised it was my husband's birthday and sent up a bottle of champagne and chocolates. This truly made us feel special! Also the pool and steam room were lovely, quiet and clean.
Been by the hotel on many occasions but never stopped , brilliant location for visiting Koln, Reception Staff were a little un welcoming on arrival , but seemed ok when checking out, Friendly staff at Breakfast . Room was very clean and really comfortable bed and we had a great view of the Cathedral. Breakfast was good but very expensive. Good Parking spaces. will visit again next year.
A large conference hotel on the river Rhine, confortable if somewhat cavernous - the site of an old market hall makes for a large central atrium. Good breakfast buffet, the Kolnsh Stuff bar provided drinks at a reasonable price (for a hotel) and decent small meals in local style. Rooms are unexciting but well supplied although if you want a kettle you have to ask for it. Rooms with windows into the central atrium are darker than those facing outwards. Some of our group complained about noise from the atrium.
The hotel is in the middel of Cologne centre and 1 minute from Heumarkt. Parking is no problem, nice rooms and friendly staff. The breakfast buffet is fantastic. We enjoyed it very much. Christmas markets (there are various in different locations through the city) in walking distance. Nice atmosphere
A very pleasant and multi faceted locale with attending staff to relieve travel stress. Ask for a room with a view of the cathedral. Relax with a glass of wine at one of the atrium cafes, then visit their outstanding restaurant Bellvue and leave your pallet to Felix for a culinary vacation. ENJOY! (I did!)
