This hotel looks very nice from the outside and the lobby and restaurant areas look lovely. The location is good. The room was nice enough but the sound proofing is awful. You can hear all the noise from the corridor and the rooms next door. The Wi-fi is awful. This class of hotel should offer good Wi-fi if you can log on it’s so slow and impossible to stream. The reception staff aren’t very friendly or helpful. It’s a shame because it wouldn’t take much for this hotel to be so much better but I would still book a Marriott or a Hilton before this chain in the future.

WiFi is 512k if you can get it to work, gym doesn’t open until 7:00 am, rooms are minute and have not changed in 20 years..... Only staying here as all other hotels full. Location is OK but so are most other downtown choices. Avoid if you have any other options for a business hotel. As titled a relic and a joke........

We hadn't expected to stay in this hotel but our flight was cancelled and the airline sent us here. Even with very short notice of our arrival the staff were very efficient and pleasant. When we asked to book an early taxi in the morning they offered to arrange a packed lunch to take with us as we'd be too early for the hotel breakfast. An unexpected but enjoyable visit after a stressful day.

I stayed for one night in this hotel, which is conveniently situated close to the main railway station, while on a group rail tour of Europe. While the hotel was efficiently run and provided average comfort the quality of the food provided as dinner for our group was uninspiring. There was only a limited choice and the service was slow. I concur with the comment made by a previous contributor that the towels provided in the bathroom were little larger than the average tea cloth, were of poor quality, and not in keeping with a standard normally expected in am hotel claiming itself as being of a four star standard.

The hotel structure remains from the past century. Furniture and decoration. Fair to say the both rooms are renovated so a great shower with mood lights included, are available. Quality of bed and mattress is also fine. But the towels in the bathroom are soooo short that I thought the average guests are dwarves. Not sure if it was my trophy of this stay but the smell of feces all over the common areas such as the reception and the congress hall was disgusting!!

Just for a stop-over I booked this place for one night. A clean and really five-star-hotel. It offers more than I needed. Although absolutely downtown and close to river Rhine, my room was absolutely quiet. I made a mistake in booking very short time, but wrong date, and the hotel resolved this problem easily without any fees. Thank you!

Very comfortable hotel with very striking lobby good evening meal and one of best breakfasts I have had in any hotel nice staff and good location on the rhine only slight downside was poor and weak wifi otherwise would get 5 stars

We stayed here for one night at the end of a river cruise. This is a large hotel situated on the banks of the Rhine within a short walk of both the railway station and the cathedral. The central ground floor of the hotel is within a spectacular atrium off which are the restaurants and shops. The rooms are reached by means of glass sided lifts which overlook the atrium. The rooms are modern and comfortable with a very high tech push button operated shower. The dinner was excellent and the buffet breakfast varied and well prepared.

The Maritim hotel is a big hotel in Cologne. It is very central and close to most things (cathedral etc). This was a business trip and it was comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful. It was quite pricey though.

Stayed for one night. Vast old warehouse with huge quite attractive atrium. Room adequate although stuffy and smelt of stale smoke despite being "non-smoking". Well located for cathedral etc. Buffet dinner not good but breakfast better.
