Alter Markt is a happening place. Great location for food, nightlife and shopping. At arrival my room AC was broken and they did not have another room for me until the next day. The room is quite small and the bed is quite hard. They do have new double pain windows so the street noise is very minimal. For the rate they charged me (during Gamescom) I would have expected more. But overall it is fine and even very good if the rate is $200-$300 a night but not worth the $500 a night I was paying

Nothing to not like! Excellent property close to old town and extremely friendly and helpful staff!! The rooms are mini apartments loaded with everything from microwave, dishes, dishwasher and even an ironing board with iron!! Highly recommended!!

Great place to explore Old Cologne

We loved our stay here! We were so close to absolutely everything we wanted to see and do. Even though the hotel is right at the Market Square, it was incredibly quiet. Very clean and comfortable. Enjoyed breakast every morning as well.

This hotel is definitely the heart of the social area so noise is a problem late at night into the early morning. Homessless sleeping and yelling outside, and with no AC - choice leave window open to stay cooler and hear the noise or shut the window and sleep in a sweat box.

Great!

We had a great stay. The hotel was so close to everything and conveniently located to the train station. It was one of the hottest days of the summer and the staff brought extra fans and water for us to the room.
