I have stayed in a number of aloft's throughout the country. This, by far, was the most disappointing experience I have ever had. First, the room was filthy, including what appeared to be some type of drink splattered all over the wall beside the bed. Second, the creamer that was in the coffee bar area had curdled leaving me to buy milk to use for my coffee in the mornings. Third, the phone in the room did not work. So, the only way for me to reach the front desk (other than just going down the 15 flights to the desk) was for me to call from my personal phone, go through the switchboard of options, and dial 0 to reach the operator (front desk). I discovered this when on the morning that we were to check out, we had no hot water in our shower. I tried to reach the front desk no less than 10 times and each time the call would simply go to a voicemail that was "full" and I was instructed to "call back later." Had the phone in the room worked in the first place, I would have been able to reach the front desk in the first place. Nonetheless, I took a cold shower. On the way out, I spoke to the attendant at the front desk and expressed my discontentment. She took notes, my name, and my phone number and assured me that the "Operationons Manager" would call me to discuss. Guess who never called me? Can't say that I'm surprised that I never heard from them. However, I can say that I will never stay aloft in Austin again.

The property is nice. The room was clean and the front desk staff are efficient, helpful and friendly. The hotel is in a great location. However, our waitress at Carolines, the bar/restaurant located on property was incredibly rude as well as her manager. On two of the three nights we were staying there we had a hard time believing that this young lady and her manager could be so rude. We would end up back our hotel after seeing a music show at Austin City Limit and go upstairs to Carolines to grab a drink and the waitress was so rude that we literally left our hotel and went down the street to another one to grab a drink and late-night bite. On the second night we ended up back at our hotel hoping for a nicer experience. Nope. Same rude waitress and manager. Unfortunately, as much as we loved all the other aspects of this hotel from the great bakery goods and wonderful coffee in the morning to the clean rooms and great location I will not return, and I won't recommend it to anyone. There are plenty of other hotels in this general location and have all the same amenities that Aloft has and are at the same price point. I know because every evening that's where our group would end up - at another hotel restaurant/bar in the area rather than one we were staying at.

Rooms were very dark. No room service . No one came and cleaned our room . For the amount of money the rooms were I would have expected a little more high class service . No bell boy to help with our bags either .

Downtown location was good. Sliding door for toilet was difficult to open or close, No room service, 3PM check in was crowded, my reservation could not initially be found,I did it online. Good food.
