Current Status: Still waiting to be reimbursed. Here is the situation based on our family experience.
We booked a room through Orbitz that specifically included double beds and a sofa bed, to accommodate six people. However, upon arrival at the hotel, we were never informed at check-in that the room we had reserved and paid for was not available.
We were given room keys and proceeded to the room, only to discover upon opening the door that the room was not what we had booked. We returned to the front desk and were then informed that no suitable room was available. The receptionist told us that we should open a claim with Orbitz — which we did immediately. Almost a week later and still waiting to be reimbursed once Hotel decides the answer the phone or have someone available to do so.
