What makes a Good Hotel Great? It starts with having outstanding staff. Already, even before leaving Florida due to the Hurricane, we received a warm invitation from one of the Hotel's Front Desk Clerk, Lakisha. She went ABOVE and BEYOND to make my staying quite remarkable. Feeling home, welcomed and embraced after going through a National Disaster, brought us the peace, quietness and joy needed to cope with the stress we were facing. The Hotel's friendliness was contagious, it was felt from the Lobby through the Desk Clerks, carried by the Hotel's Manager, Housekeeping who were responsive, friendly and above all helpful. A Hotel can have many amenities, yet if their staff aren't great, it won't carry the 5 STARS experience we all, guests, look for. The Lobby is modern with designed areas for you to relax, hangout with friends, have drinks and work. The location is good as well, close to many restaurants, stores and all what Atlanta has to offer. GREAT JOB!!
Hey, you guys, it's Pamela Tinsley and I stayed at your hotel due to my husband David having surgery at Emory. I have never felt so welcomed and experienced such a compassionate staff. Lakisha, I will never forget you! You and Marsha were my angels! And, Raynoldo, you also helped so much to lift my spirit and made an effort to keep me smiling through such a difficult time! Tim and Avery were also such a big help! Also, all that helped out with the valet parking were awesome! Our room was great and so was the cleaning staff. (firstname.lastname@example.org) I will highly recommend!
The good part: the hotel is very well outfitted, with comfortable, quiet rooms, wonderful beds, a good shower with thick fluffy towels, a great fitness center, a fantastic location walk-able to the key attractions, and an outstanding breakfast buffet. It was everything you could want for in a downtown hotel, and a good value considering all the amenities. The even better part: we stayed during Hurricane Irma and even though the hotel was completely slammed with stressed and anxious families (and their pets), every single encounter we had with hotel staff was kind, understanding, resourceful, and perfectly professional--from the initial check-in staff, the parking valets, the restaurant staff, and the housekeeping. Everyone was beyond accommodating, even as the storm passed through Atlanta and affected them as well. If they can be this good during very trying circumstances, I am certain that they will be even better under normal operation. I can not imagine staying anywhere else!
We stayed one night here on the weekend. We checked in about 1pm and there was a party going on in the adjoining room. The overwhelming smell of marijuana coming from under the door between the rooms prompted us to go to reception and ask to be moved. The concierge was fantastic and moved us straight away. When we went back to get our luggage there were another five people going into the room next door. So glad we were moved, I can only imagine 10 pm if this was 1 pm. We walked from the hotel to Coca Cola world and back again which took about 10 minutes each way. When we asked the valet about going out later that nigh though we were told not to walk the streets around the hotel after dark. We walked to Walgreens two blocks away and didn't feel safe later in the afternoon. In terms of location there isn't really much near this hotel that you could walk to after dark but the lobby bar was quaint and the room service was pretty good.
We were in town for a football game, and staying from Thursday -Sunday. Our room was spacious. The front desk staff was friendly. The location is great as it is close to the Fox Theatre, Ga Tech, and other landmarks. They were insistent on having someone bring our luggage to the room for us after check-in. After getting to our room and waiting 20 minutes, I decided to go see if it was still there because we had to meet friends for dinner. When I got back down to the lobby, our luggage was still there. I brought it up myself at that point. Our room was ok, but there was a dirty tshirt from a previous guest sticking out from under the sofa. Not my first choice in hotels, but it was ok. It is dog friendly as there were many evacuees from FL there with their pets.
We have stayed at this hotel for 43 years and gone thru many hotel changes. The hotel is nice and a perfect location for us as we attend football games just a couple of blocks away. The hotel is clean and staff very good and helpful and friendly. We have always had a good stay until this time and it was due to the valet parking. We have stayed at this hotel so much that many of the people recognize us and some know us by name. We valet parked as usual and on Saturday put all our belongings in the car and they parked it until that afternoon. We came back to the car and got in and did not look at the rear of the car. When we got home and unpacked we found the right rear bumper had been scratched . It looks like they parked next to a column or something. Not a dent but scratches all the way down. I called the next day and reported it and the manager was helpful and took all the information. I do not think the person that parked the car realized he had even done it. We received an email later that day saying the scratches were already there and had documentation. The information they showed was not even where the scratches were. My husband has responded but we have not heard back. What bothers me is they are accusing us of lying. We had not asked for anything just wanted to make them aware and to get the response we did made us very mad. Looks like we paid $33.00 to have our car damaged when parked and now we are called liars. We will stay at this hotel again but never use the valet parking. Not a good way to treat guests of 43 years that have been loyal to this hotel and sent many other people there as well. Will forewarn them not to use valet parking. Had the parking accident not occurred I would rate this hotel higher.
We came along with many others running from Hurricane Irma. Place sold out and filled with people with dogs. Staff very friendly and helpful. Clean nice rooms. Got two queen connecting rooms with pull outs. Balconies attached to the rooms, 24 gym. Valet is $33/day, we chose to self park, since we had our pets and cars filled (having to go back to them to get more items as needed), which is $15/day. Breakfast buffet pretty good. Fruit, make your waffles, bacon, sausage, biscuits/gravy, yogurt, runny eggs, cereal, turkey sausage, bagels, couple pastries, lox and cream cheese, some meats and cheese, few more things. Coffee shop that is only open in the mornings?? Many people drink coffee throughout the day. There is a Dunkin' Donuts across the street. I would visit this place, again.
I want to give this a "Very good" rating, but I just can't. My husband and I were there for Dragon Con last week. This is not a host hotel and was about a 15 minute walk from the event. The staff was very friendly and seemed genuinely excited about the event, some even worked in costume. I got daily texts asking how our stay was going. The hallway had that old damp carpet kind of smell but it wasn't so noticeable in the room. The room itself was nice, but a little damp much like the hallway (we were on the 15th floor). So here were the 2 biggest problems we had. 1. The tub didn't drain properly. A 10 minute shower and I was standing ankle deep in water. The first night, I called the front desk when I got out of the shower and they said they would send maintenance the next day. The next day maintenance came while we were getting dressed and we asked them to come back later once we were gone. That night, took a shower and the same problem, it wasn't draining. I happened to have received a text asking about our stay and I mentioned that it still wasn't fixed. The next night, same thing including the text response when the front desk asked. We were there 4 nights and they were informed the first 3 nights. It still wasn't fixed the last night we were there but at that point, what was the point in telling them yet again it wasn't fixed. So I think it was 1 call and 2 texts responses to the front desk. They were very nice about it, but it did not get resolved. 2. Dining downstairs was so slow. I think it was Sunday night we came back to the hotel and after changing in the room, came back down because I wanted more than the room service menu. Little did I know it was the room service menu. But it's a smaller hotel, so ok small menu. *shrug* It was about 8pm and the place wasn't totally packed still had a few tables/couches empty so we ordered drinks and the BBQ brisket tacos and the shrimp tacos. It took the server 10 minutes to come back and tell us that they were out of the wine we ordered. Ok, maybe they went and searched the stockroom for it. That's fine. Ordered new drinks and they came quickly. The server tried to keep us updated that our food was coming out shortly...but it took 45 minutes to get tacos. The server seem slightly apologetic and said how busy they were but we looked around and it was not "45 minutes for tacos" type of busy. We were exhausted or we would have left to find other food. Otherwise, the food was good, but we just wanted to be done for the night. While I very much appreciated the very friendly & attentive staff, getting the problems actually resolved would have been better.
Rooms are super clean, love the view and the best lady at the front desk. Her name is Marsha she is very lively and definitely chatting with her brightens your day after a 20 hour drive from Miami. I am looking forward to come here again.
My friend and I took a weekend trip to Atlanta. Unfortunately it was the same weekend Hurricane Irma was occurring. The concierge, Lakisha, was awesome!!! She was very warm and helpful!!! She provided excellent customer service, which is very rare these days. I would definitely stay here again
