Crowne Plaza Atlanta - Midtown

In town for business and this hotel was across the street from my office. It’s also near the North Avenue MARTA stop. Because I’m a foodie I would have preferred to be situated where I could comfortably walk to different restaurants. The nearest decent restaurants may be a 10 minute walk. Because it was cold that was not possible. If it were warm and walking is not an issue this would not be a problem. Check in was a breeze. They hold a 100.00 per day on your credit card for damage (I find that excessive). There is an on-site bar offering pricey drinks and a sit down restaurant. The lobby and common areas are inviting and modern. My room was on the 7th floor facing the freeway. The hallways smelled like old musty water. The carpets need a good vacuum. My view included the freeway and it was loud in addition to the constant hum of the heater/air conditioner. There was also the sound of construction late at night but I couldn’t see it. They offer noise kits for light sleepers. My room was spacious had a Keurig with powder creamer and sugar packets. I didn’t have wash towels the first day, but housekeeping left them on the 2nd. Housekeeping did not arrive until after after 5 on day one. After returning from work I waited downstairs for her to finish. I ordered room service on the first night. There is a 21% service charge and a 3.00 delivery charge so beware. This can make your order quite costly... On the upside, the showers are nice and the bed was comfortable. I had 2 beds and the room was spacious. There is no refrigerator or microwave in the room (I didn’t expect one) for those that are curious. WIFI worked well. As a note..this hotel is co-located with Staybridge suites. Somehow I made it to the Lower lobby which is the entrance for the Staybridge suites. They offer a light breakfast and an evening reception with beer and wine and a hot entree and salad. Although this is in the same bldg and you would not notice it was a different hotel we were told this was only for the suite visitors...hmmmm

I booked here both for the great location and for the Crowne Plaza name, which I assumed meant quality. For a room rate of $160+, I was shocked to find that the room lacked both a mini-fridge and a microwave, both of which are essentially de riguer for ANY hotel, even a $40 a night place. We booked a room with two beds and three people, yet there was ONE tiny bottle of shampoo. There was a coffee maker with several coffee/tea pods, yet exactly ONE sugar was provided for the whole room. Parking was $15 for a garage a block away, or valet was available for $33 a day. I know this is fairly standard for large downtown areas, but still..... The final insult to me was that the continental breakfast WAS NOT INCLUDED in my $160+ room rate. They wanted an additional $17 per person for routine continental breakfast fare that is standard at any much lower-priced hotels. House keeping did not exchange dirty towels. There was a great view from the room, however, the balconies were sealed shut so you could not use them. The windows were so dirty you had a hard time seeing the great view. But hey - the location WAS great.

Great location... especially for Emory hospital but don’t expect too much in the way of quality service... I felt ther were a bit understaffed... when my door wouldn’t lock (so we couldn’t leave our room), I called front desk 6 times with no answer (at 2:30pm)... had to physically walk down for attention to matter. My wife inadvertently left her silk scarf after a late breakfast, and with only us and another table, prior to 11AM, this was never returned or located (our room number clearly on the signed hotel charge slip). This all said, the place gets good traffic and the rooms were clean and comfy enough. In summary, if location is important and you don’t expect too much in terms of service, you’ll be OK. Just don’t lose any personal items.

Marsha at the front desk was so sweet, kind and helpful. She was definitely an addition that made my stay even better. Teresa also at the front desk was very helpful and polite. This location has a very friendly staff.

This is my 7th night here and today is the first day I actually got adequate housekeeping - and by adequate I mean they actually provided clean linens & removed dirty ones. The room is by no means clean. Currently, there is drilling going on somewhere nearby but no one can offer an explanation or say when it will stop. My room didn't have a lock on the doorwall - 4 engineer visits later they got a flimsy lock on the door. The room smells like a cat has been in it. I contact management daily & while they promise action, they haven't resolved anything. They have a systemic management problem. Save yourself the aggrivation

If there was anyone that truly made my visit worthwhile, it was Tiffany! Let me tell you something, Tiffany and her staff went out of their way to ensure that my boyfriend and I had a great stay! I called ahead and got connected to Tiffany. I asked if the staff could do something special for my boyfriend for our first Valentines Day together. Pictures attached. Despite the hotel being thin on resources from the cheerleading competition being held in the city, Tiffany made sure the staff knew to accommodate us however way they could. Aside from the service, the hotel itself is in a great location, especially if are wanting to access downtown, airport, etc...

Stayed here for an event at the Georgia World Convention Center. Easy access from airport- $18 by Uber or $3.50 by MARTA to North Avenue Station, which is 1 block away. Very friendly and helpful front desk and coffee shop staff. Many taxis out front for huge GWCC event. $12 taxi flat fee to GWCC. Hotel has updated bed linens and furnishings. Nice common areas. The only negative is that there are no stores or restaurants closer than 3 blocks away. Other than that, good value for the cost.

Don't be fooled by how "new" the hotel looks. The lobby is beautiful and looks very well maintained and upon first glance, the rooms look clean as well. But I had to ask for a new room because I found a spider in each of the beds in my room and that ruined the experience for me. I get it, bugs happen and spiders aren't the worst thing to find. But to find them on the bed, it was pretty gross and I couldn't sleep, thinking that there were still bugs in the bed. The rooms look clean at quick glance, but if you do a deep dive, it really isn't and housekeeping isn't the best. I used a mug and it wasn't removed and replaced, my towels weren't cleaned, the toiletries were not replenished and the table had visible dirt left from whoever was there before me. It's unfortunate because the front desk staff were outstanding. Very helpful and super friendly. The bell hop, not so much. When asked to get my suit case, I got the "i'm busy" response. When I then said, we have a flight to catch, i got the "we all have things to do" response. Sorry, it's one thing if you were doing something, but you were just standing there. The location is ideal if you're visiting one of the nearby offices. There's a pizza place and a hot dog place right around the corner, but if you're looking for something more, count on taking an Uber. Maybe it's the area, but at 8:30PM, I thought I would be able to find a restaurant to get food at, but don't count on it. I wouldn't stay here for more than one night, two is pushing it. Strictly for business. There is another hotel that is a few blocks away, so I would consider that instead.

The hotel was great and very nice, but Teresa was even more fantastic. She was so sweet to my friend and I when we checked in and there definitely needs to be more people like her. Great people, with great attitudes can make a hotel that’s a 3.5 star be way better than a 5 star stay. Thank you Teresa!

Next to the airport, I love Crown Plaza and you can get a deal if you get on line and research. If you have to catch an early flight out, it saves extra time. Staff always friendly and helpful. Give it a try.
