The cabin was absolutely because, cozy, comfy and perfect for a Tahoe gateway. The owner was incredibly kind and really tried to help us when issues came up, which is why I’m giving this high rating.The heater didn’t work properly in the living room. The property manager brought us wood and even sent someone to fix it, but unfortunately, the living room never worked. The TV only worked on the first day. The Wifi didn’t work at all. The network name did not match what was provided and the password kept saying it was incorrect. It was hard to contact the owner since there was no internet connection inside the cabin. I was able to message him outside the cabin and he kindly tried to help by giving us a new network , but that didn’t work neither. Despise these issues the owners effort and kindness really stood out. He did the best to make things right and that means a lot. If the heater, TV me Wi-Fi were fixed, this place would be perfect.

Beautiful home!

The house was exactly how it was listed. It was very well kept, beautiful and clean. It was also in a nice neighborhood and great location near everything we were looking to do well we were there. Thank you for allowing my family and I to stay there. This is our 2nd time in Tahoe and will definitely be back again soon!

We’ve been coming to Lake Tahoe for over 60 years, and staying at Carolyn and Dave’s Carnelian Bay Retreat truly made this year’s trip remarkable. The home felt warm and welcoming as soon as we walked in—spotlessly clean, thoughtfully furnished, and the perfect haven that let us relax and reconnect. It provided a wonderful base for exploring every corner of the lake, from serene shoreline mornings to mountain adventures in the afternoon.For our family, Tahoe is more than just a pretty place; it’s where our story and traditions continue, and having both my parents and my aunt rest here makes our time at the lake even more meaningful. Every visit for us is a chance to honor them and keep our family’s legacy alive, creating new memories with our families along the way.Carnelian Bay Retreat was everything we hoped for: comfortable, well-equipped, and full of little touches that made it feel like a true home away from home. We feel grateful for a space that supported both reflection and joy, helping us weave another special chapter into our family’s Tahoe journey. Amazing stay! Super family friendly

We had a great time. The house is on a quiet cul de sac where we could all play and enjoy the nature. Lots of stuff to do within 10-15 minutes and the house was very clean, lots of bedrooms and fun for all!

Wonderful cabin

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin! Dave and Carolyn were very friendly hosts -- for example, they went out of their way to warn us of an upcoming storm. Very cozy and clean cabin in a nice neighborhood. Would happily stay here again!

When we book this house, we like the way it looked and it was good price however when we arrived at the property we liked even more because this place was very clean very cozy and comfortable and the pictures doesn’t do justice. The owners of this place are great people. We has great communication with them. We stayed during the snow storm of March 1st and unfortunately the roads were closed and couldn’t return home on Sunday however thankfully the host allowed us to stay extra day without charge. I highly recommend this place and would come back in the future.

Everything you’d ever need.

The cabin was great. Very clean when we arrived. Bedrooms and bathrooms were all very well kept. Plenty of towels and toiletries. The owners were very communicative with any questions I had and briefly met the property manager who cleared some now to give us parking for another car. Great location near ski resorts. Would stay here again.

Perfect Winter getaway

The place was just as described and perfect for our ski vacation. Fully stocked kitchen made it a breeze to cook. Kids loved the living room pit and played there all the time. Property manager was responsive to our questions and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Can’t wait to stay here again on our next trip to North Tahoe.

A great time was had!

We had a great stay at this home. The house is very cozy and warm, We enjoyed the nice fireplace each evening. If you are a bit of a walker, you can walk down to the lake. We did a bit of skiing at both Northstar and Palisades, we enjoyed a trip over to Truckee and to South Lake Tahoe. The house has everything you need, bring yourself and clothes, you will enjoy your time here!
