Hotel Capstone

Hotel Capstone is perfectly situated next to campus. It has been updated recently and was very comfortable. Our room was clean and the bed was super comfortable. Staff was friendly and accommodating. One constructive criticism- the shower door design is pretty, but you can't reach the faucet unless you get completely in the shower and, thus, get hit by the cold water. Also, the shower floor is extremely slick. May want to put something for traction on shower pan. Enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again. Thanks!

The hotel was nice with friendly staff however upon returning to our room, a housecleaning person was in our room with the door closed, when we walked in she said that she forgot that she had already cleaned our room and ran out! This left us with an uncomfortable feeling for the rest of the trip

Hotel is perfect location when visiting our son! Nice bar and friendly staff.. Room is a little dated, but comfortable and quiet! My only negative is no safe in room Housekeeper stopped us in hallway and asked if we wanted turnover service and towels. We said no towels but yes to bed... Bed never made.

Very nice and clean hotel, definitely was a great value

Great location for college visit. Everyone was very helpful on answering questions about the college and area.

This hotel is located within walking distance of the University of Alabama campus, which makes it a good choice for those who have U of A activities planned (such as visiting the campus with you son/daughter to see if it is a fit or for follow on visits to get ready to attend the campus). Hotel was pleasant and clean. Only had one issue one day with some missing towels on a room cleaning, but staff quickly corrected issue in a manner of minutes. I do plan to use this hotel in the future when I visit Tuscaloosa again.

Even though there was a problem with the room we had originally booked, we were compensated for it and the stay was convenient and comfortable. The staff was extremely nice and the breakfast buffet was good

We were in town for our son to tour Alabama. The staff was nice and accommodating. The hotel is quite dated and would truly benefit from an overhaul but pleasant enough for a short stay.

Great stay - perfect place to stay for Bama game. Park and walk to the game. Restaurant on site. Courteous and friendly staff. Large room. Will definitely stay again if we can get a room :).

Great location if you need to be on campus. Clean rooms. Helpful staff. Restaurant is serviceable.

We were in town for a tour of the University of Alabama campus. We got in late after a long drive and the hotel staff was nice and very helpful. Once we got to our room we were too tired to go out for dinner so we ordered room service. The food was excellent and affordable. We will be staying here again in a couple of months while our son is at Orientation for UA.

Location is great. Easy walk to campus. Room is nice. Bathroom a little tight but manageable.

Excellent room. Very convenient to classes and very good quick lunch at reasonable price.

My daughter and I stayed here for three nights while visiting the University of Alabama. The location is perfect, and the hotel is lovely. Chad at the front desk was awesome. The only suggestions I'd have for the hotel: it would be nice to have complimentary water bottles on arrival (although there is ice water available in the lobby) and a towel bar on the bathroom wall would be helpful. Other than that, our stay was perfect.

The hotel is well-maintained, clean, has friendly staff and is centrally located to the University of Alabama.

If you want to wait in the lobby a couple hours before the game, you can reach out and touch the players as they walk by with Nick Sabin out front. I gave staff service a 1, because they are super slow at check-in and check-out, however, they are quick for room service. We wanted extra towels and extra coffee, and they were at our door immediately. We had an awesome tv, beds, pillows, large bathroom with beautiful shower, vanity. We had an issue with our air. They have to reset them sometimes. The first night the maintenance didn't know how to fix, so we were hot, and that's uncalled for as expensive as they are. The next day on returning from game, still hot, but this time, maint. fixed promptly. After that, you could keep as cold as you wanted. The hotel restaurant serves a good burger, grilled chicken, bacon and eggs, but nothing spectacular. You are paying to be next to stadium and see the team, beautiful room, but problems with maintenance and staff. If you address them up front, you probably will be fine.

The room was spacious, clean and well furnished. Looks like a recent remodel throughout. Had a great stay and it can't be a better location to visit your kids at UA

We love staying at the Capstone when visiting our kids at the University of Alabama ,it is always our first choice the staff here is fantastic

Right on campus which made our stay very convenient. Very clean. wish they had complementary coffee and breakfast like all of the other hotels in the area.

Overall a great experience. We stayed here on a game day. For those that don't know it, the entire football team stays here the night before a game. They are there part of the next day also. In our case, kickoff was at 5 and the team left at 3pm. We were told it would be at least 5 before a room was ready. Which was fine with us. Just don't be upset if you were planning on checking in early or on time, that may not happen. We checked in after the game, they were very organized, room keys were ready when we checked in, very smooth. I've stayed in many hotels in Tuscaloosa. So far, this is the nicest. Very, very pricey but all the hotels jack up the prices on game day, this one more so than others, but still a good experience.
