We really enjoyed staying at this hotel, which offers comfort, style and a level of personal service not found at many American hotels any more. The restaurant, recently refurbished, is excellent too. I used the gym at the related hotel some 10 minutes drive away and easily accessible by presenting my Eldridge room key. I would just endorse other reviewers' comments that comfort in the bedrooms could be improved by providing curtains rather than blinds as well as a safe.

My husband and I booked a stay at the Eldridge at the suggestion of many. The original hotel location is everything we expected. HOWEVER, at the suggestion of hotel staff, we booked a suite at the "extended Eldridge" location which ended up being an isolated building several blocks from the hotel. In a nutshell, don't waste your money. Here's a quick recap of the "benefits": - There is no staff at the extended location. None. - Our building key stopped working at night and we were locked out of the extended location with no access. You'd think it would be a simple fix to call the main location and ask someone to bring a key. NO. After calling multiple times with no answer my husband walked to the main location while I sat outside in 100 degree heat. - A valet will drop you at the extended location, however, they are not trained to act as porters & there are no luggage carts on site. When our car was returned the valet essentially tossed us our keys and ran off. Our luggage was locked inside the building which then meant we had to drive to the main location, get another key, and return. We have expressed our concern to management at this hotel with very little response or desire to make our experience right. Don't book the extended location. Just save yourself the trouble and don't give the Eldridge your business whatsoever.

The staff at The Eldridge was not only professional and courteous, they went out of their way to make sure our stay was 5 star without being pushy or intrusive. In addition, they let us know of ways to increase the likelihood of room availability upon our next desired visit. The room was beautifully appointed, the bed extremely comfortable, the downtown noise minimal though the location was perfect for walking around enjoying all downtown Lawrence has to offer.

Today, after checking into the Eldridge Hotel, I desperately needed to get to a hardware store on foot as my vehicle could not be moved. Pam, the manager, not only took the time to find the closest hardware, but she also insisted on driving me in the 100 degree weather, waited for me and insisted on returning me to the hotel. This type of customer service is literally unheard of in this day and age. I appreciated her gesture more than she’ll ever know. The funny thing is that the manner in which she performed this good deed almost made it seem like an everyday occurrence, and I’m beginning to think that for her, it is. The icing on the cake was that she had delicious chocolate chip cookies delivered to the room while we were out for dinner, totally over the top service. I cannot say enough good things about this lovely Historic Hotel and the people that run it.

We loved the look of the hotel, very grand. Beautiful lobby and restaurant and bar. The room was very large and bed very comfy. However, no exhaust fan in the bathroom, no coffee maker, no drawers or dresser to put away clothes. The lid of the toilet seat was almost completely off. Housekeeping had to know this. The air conditioner is very noisy but the hotel supplied a sound machine which helped greatly. Drapes are needed on the street side because too much light comes in. The room has two TVs and a sofa which was very comfortable. If you can overlook these things the hotel is worth staying at. Front desk staff are so friendly. We stayed in room 206.

Really enjoyed the Eldridge. Great location on Mass, and has a lot of character. Room very comfortable and clean. Restaurant was fun, good, and very fairly priced. Staff all friendly. Highly recommend.

The Eldridge Hotel has it right. Large rooms, with all modern conveniences, old fashioned grace and superb friendly service. What more could you want from a hotel? Ah yes, location. Downtown Lawrence has all the neat restaurants and services would could want.

What a lovely place to stay! I've had the pleasure of staying and eating at The Eldridge many times, and it never disappoints. If you enjoy historic buildings that are welcoming and have a decor of understated elegance, you will love The Eldridge. The staff goes above and beyond to accommodate your needs and desires. I've told my husband many times if I ever run away from home, I'll be at The Eldridge!

Christmastime was a lovely time to stay at the Eldridge. The decor and atmosphere were perfect. The honeymoon suite was impeccable. The staff were very accommodating and welcoming. We highly recommend it!

What a hotel! Beautiful historic building with a story to tell. Lovely lobby and friendly staff to help. The rooms aren't very 'hip' but they are great value. Room was huge and I had two TVs. Great location too.
