When we tried to check in the property said they did not like 3rd party bulling and tried to add extra charges. We ended up not checking in at all and went another hotel in Lawrence. I was in a wheel chair and the desk clerk said my room wasn't handicapped because the Orvitz profile didn't say it. It did. This place is expensive but, with Orvitz more reasonable. They just try to trick you, when you arri e. So dispicable.

rooftop was fun and the wedding venue was lovely, great staff!

Awesome location & staff!

Good stay

The layout. It had so many additional places you would have no need to leave the hotel.

I had made a Reservation and called back a few weeks later to add another day and I asked specially would I stay in the same room. I had also reserved a roll away so this is way I was very concerned about moving rooms. So mid day on the first day of our stay I got a call about moving out of the room. At this point we were in Kansas City and no way to move. The girl on the home said let me Check I’ll call you back. Well she called back and Said we could stay but there was a 30 dollar fee increase. I was so confused when I call and and added a day I asked all the right question and it still was a problem.

Room was dark, mattress was uncomfortable, parking was difficult. Pricey.

Nice and clean room and bathroom. Plenty of space and comfort and we had a pleasant stay. Do keep in mind that if you plan to eat or drink at the hotel other than room service, reservations are required.

The hotel is right on campus and close to Mass Street. Building and my room were very clean.

Great location and very comfortable hotel. It’s always a good hotel to stay in while visiting the city.

I traveled to the midwest with the sole purpose of viewing the miracle of the Solar Eclipse in its totality. The rate was a bit pricey (I have never splurged or treated myself to anything special) but I had a very lovely corner room with exquisite infinite views of greenery and close views of the beautiful University of Kansas campus.

Perfect spot for visiting our daughter at KU. This was our second stay at The Oread. Beautiful hotel. Hotel staff was great.

Dear Kathleen, Thank you for taking the time to share your review. Upon check-in a credit card is required for room, tax & incidentals; an authorization occurs to be sure funds are available, but the card is not charged. The balance of this authorization is released upon your departure. I’m sorry that this was not effectively communicated and for any frustration caused. Additionally, we try to be as transparent as possible regarding all of our fees and we are always happy to assign handicap-accessible rooms at check-in if we have them available. Again, on behalf of the staff and management - I offer our apologies. Sincerely, Nancy Longhurst General Manager
