Always enjoyed this hotel. Unfortunately it is starting to show its age. Still my go to place none the less!

The Valhalla always provides great service and always meets my expectations. The sleeping rooms need updating otherwise could be a 4 plus star rating.

Hotel is close to everything we wanted to do in Thunder Bay. Very easy to find. Was very disappointed in the room since there was no table nor dresser. Just a desk chair and TV mounted on the way, which looked tacky with the cables dangling down the wall to the outlet. I didn't care for the hard wood floors, but my spouse liked the floors. He was also disappointed with not even a desk or table. And had to sit with his laptop on his lap in the chair as that was the closest outlet he could find. We did visit the lounge for a drink in the evening, which was nice and had friendly staff. And are breakfast at the Timbers restaurant on-site, also descent. But overall for the price of the room, would stay at a chain hotel next time. At least then we'd know what's in the room as the pictures and words state on the website.

Hotel was nice. We ate in the casual restaurant area and felt our waiter really didn't care much. Maybe he was having an off night.

the personnel were wonderful and helpful. I would be happy to return to this hotel at any future date I'll have in Thunder Bay.

The room we stayed in on the 5th floor, business, needs to be updated, mostly the furniture. The bathroom was so small that only one person could fit in it and only if they weren't too large in stature. Restaurant staff were excellent and very friendly.

The beds were super comfortable with a great cushy comforter and lots of pillows. The kids loved the pool! Also, they have good coffee and coffee maker in comparison to other hotels I've stayed at along with a large sized mini-fridge and microwave. I've heard the restaurants are very good but we didn't get a chance to try them. Like lots of hotels, it can be noisy if someone is in the hallway just outside your room.

Everything was fine, well run hotel, great restaurant on premises. While the property is not the newest, it is very well kept, and décor is to current taste.

Fairly nice hotel. Rooms are comfortable. Staff is pleasant and accommodating. Has a hip vibe. Although restaurant staff need to be friendlier and engaging and one of the bartenders is very rude. Have stayed here twice and both times she was difficult.

Hotel was good value. A must to see is the Terry Fox Memorial.

I enjoyed my stay. The room was very nice. Beautiful pool. Nice restaurant. easy access and the wifi works well.

Staff very friendly when checking in. Food was good. Bartender seemed a little aloof. Took my wife's order, gave it to her and then starting having a conversation with another patron with asking what I wanted.

Great place to stay. Clean and fresh room. A little expensive 75 cents to make a local call.

Very nice hotel, close to the airport and to shopping.

Stayed here to catch an early flight out of Thunder Bay. This hotel is close by the airport and has free shuttle. Some rooms are newly renovated and nice.

The Valhalla Inn had the freshest, cleanest air quality of ANY hotel I've ever stayed in- and I've stayed in many hundreds, if not thousands. Normally hotel stays are awful for me. As an allergy sufferer, I usually wake up with a swollen face and stuffed nose - even when I ask for feather-free pillows and no wool blankets. At the Valhalla, there was no smell of chemical cleaners or, the cursed, air "fresheners". There was no smell at all: Just the way it should be. Also, a major plus is all the rooms have openable windows so you don't need to have noisy fans going all the time. KUDOS TO THE VALHALLA INN. All other hotels should take note.

Room is big and clean. The bed is great. Only the price is little bit expensive.

The free breakfast didn't exsist, so be prepared for that(I wasn't) The hotel itself was decent at best, ask for a room on the second floor because the rooms have been refurbished. I am not a complainer by any means at any time, I just like a fair deal when your paying so much, My bill for two nights was $257.00 and there was no free breakfast as advertised and I found some long thick black hairs in the bathtub that grossed me out. Other then those couple things, it was a decent place to stay in thunder bay, because the hotel scene there pretty much sucks. good luck and remember your paying for no breakfast!

The Valhalla is probably the best hotel in Thunder Bay, Which is a very low bar. The decor is 70s maybe 80s, a classic convention hotel feel. Even though I arrived at 2:00 am I was greeted professionally and dealt with efficiently. The place is spread out so getting to my room was a bit of a hike. The work for the hotel and the room is "worn". Carpets are threadbare, furnishings old & stained, and cleanliness low. The place is dirty, but cleaner than the other two T-Bay properties where I have stayed. WiFi was slow but reliable, standard TV offering. I did see signs that touted new and remodeled rooms, perhaps there are better ones to be found. I would stay there again as there are no better choices that I am aware of.

I have stayed there twice and it is an amazing deal for an amazing place to stay!! Wonderful! We will be back!

Thank you for choosing the Valhalla Inn and taking the time to share feedback on our model rooms that are representative of upcoming renovations. As was outlined in the survey that was provided for your feedback at the time of your stay there were some pieces of furniture that had not yet arrived and we are pleased to share that those rooms do now include a desk and counter under the TV area. We do hope that you will reconsider staying with us again in the future. Lauri Hoskins Director of Sales
