Arrived Tuesday August 2nd on return from Ottawa. Should have kept driving. Most hotels were already booked. Upon check in, told that no discounts were offered ie CAA because if they were almost full to capacity and the owners wanted top dollar for available rooms. The computer check-in would not allow any discounts what so ever. Charged $139.99 night. Should have been $90. Told that this hotel is business orientated and does not cater to travelers. Most rooms occupied by construction workers. After check-in, was told there is no hot tub or pool. Our first assigned room had a bad smell to it and the tub drain did not work so transferred to second room. Wanted to look up google maps on hotel business/common computer station but this did not work. Two other people had locked the computer and passwords were required. The desk clerk was unable to find the password to unlock the computer. The complementary breakfast was very basic. The rooms were basic and comfortable but for the money, much better hotels are available. Would not recommend staying here. Leave this place for the construction workers. I am sure they did not have to pay $140 a night. Should have kept driving. Account #539167052
Stayed for one night at the Comfort Inn East in Sudbury. It is in a good location with stores and restaurants nearby. The parking lot is well lit and safe (for motorcycle trip). The desk clerk offered up parkimg by the front desk for extra safety. Rooms are clean and well appointed. The free breakfast is a good one...waffle maker! All in all I would steer my friends to this place and would stay there again.
The comfortable inn is Comfort Inn must try by traveller. The beds are cozy so with the pillows. The basic needs for a good sleepover is available for the couple. Lots of towels ,with free coffees, teas are good compliment.
We've had really NICE rooms at other Comfort Inns so expected this one to be similar. The king bed room was furnished with ONE reading lamp on one side while the other side of the bed is shoved up against a free standing wood closet, providing no light by which to read, etc. or place a glass of water, etc. I quickly saw where the closet could be positioned by the desk to allow room for a 2nd night stand but they don't seem to care. I was told it's a "corporate hotel"....i.e. in this case, filled with a lot of road construction workers who's bill is paid by the company employing them. Therefore no one complains about the $150 room charge. I did complain and the manager reduced the charge to $99.
Hotel was well-kept, the room however had a dirty microwave, dirty bathtub and shower (i washed it myself before going in) as there were hairs, soap stains and water marks through the wet rag the housekeepers ran accross. I found hairs under my pillow before going to bed. The receptionist who checked us in seemed annoyed to be asked any questions that went beyond her check-in routine, but the night shift man was polite and so was the lady preparing breakfast the next day. Cheerful woman. Also, the price was a little much. I work at a motel myself, and we paid for a single queen, the same price of a suite at my hotel.
My friend and I recently stayed at the Comfort Inn East when we went on a shopping weekend in Sudbury. It is conveniently situated to many stores and big box stores. Easy to find. Check in went easy. Staff are polite. There is a free breakfast in the morning with everything you need to start your day off. Rooms are small but adequate. The beds and pillows are comfortable. We stayed in a room on the second floor, and there is not much for a view other than a parking lot. The room was clean but the staircases were not. This is a good hotel if you are looking for a one night stop.
The included breakfast was the best part of my two night stay. The property looked OK on the outside but when we went tin to the room (210) it smelt a little stale but I couldn't put a name to the smell until the next day. The wet dog smell was not overwhelming but it was there. When I mentioned it to the desk clerk when we left on Sunday morning all he did was shrug his shoulders. Obviously others have made the same complaint and management just does not care. Another customer spoke to me as I went outside and they had an even worse experience actually having to change their room because it was dirty and smelt as well. I also told them that the heating/cooling unit controls looked almost mouldy with all kinds of black around the buttons and knobs. Again the clerk just shrugged his shoulders and didn't care.
We went there an evening before we headed to Ottawa. Good price, bed was comfy, rooms clean. AM breakfast was OK too. Location was near a few decent bars as well. Would stay again, the front desk clerk was very helpful
When I come to Sudbury and I need a place to stay I always stay at the Comfort Inn,I noticed they had done some renovation and the dining area was very nice. Very quiet, comfortable bed and great pillows and the breakfast was exactly what I needed. Light and healthy. Staff (dining area and front desk) were polite and respectful. Great service.
Superbly renovated in recent years, spotlessly clean, quiet comfortable room, decent breakfast included. Convenient to good restaurants (e.g. Boston Pizza) and big box shopping. Very helpful front desk. A trifle tricky to find at night, but worth the very small trouble. We will definitely return.
