With the ocean on one side, and rolling hills on the other you would be forgiven for thinking you were far removed from city life. However, Santa Barbara is, in fact, a bustling city as well as a stunning natural beauty, perfect for exploring with your pet. Known for its thriving wine country, you can expect to imbibe delicious Pinot Noir with your delicious Californian fare. Also, there are plenty of fantastic outdoor pursuits made for you and your pet to enjoy on your vacation.

Where to explore and dine in Santa Barbara (CA)

With the ocean calling you, you will want to flock to the city’s plenty beautiful beaches. Known for their pristine white sands, and stunning sea, you are spoilt for choice with options of where to lay your towel. Still, Arroyo Beach is particularly perfect, offering no leash access for pets.

Spend a day exploring the stunning Stearns Wharf, the longest deep-water pier between Los Angeles and San Francisco. Built in 1872, the wharf fell into ruins in the twenties, only to be reignited with the opening of the Harbor Restaurant in 1941. Since then, visitors constantly come here to enjoy delicious food and fabulous views of the ocean. Pets are welcome but need to be kept on a leash at all times.

When you and your pet are in need of some fuel, there are plenty of restaurants to choose from. Arigato Sushi serves delicious and fresh sushi, and Tupelo Junction offers up more traditional, Southern fare such as fried green tomatoes, mac and cheese, and jalapeno grits.
