Sandpiper Lodge

Stayed here at the beginning of October with 5 girlfriends celebrating a bride-to-be. This hotel is quiet and quaint, and that’s actually exactly what we wanted. We’re not a loud or rowdy group. We got the two bedroom suite. First and foremost, thank you Sandpiper Lodge for not being obnoxiously overpriced like places in Santa Barbara can be. Now, don’t get me wrong, I know this Lodge doesn’t look like the Ritz, but the rooms were spacious and fit all of us with all the right amenities. The only thing I wished the room had was an extra bathroom. For a room that could fit up to 6 that would’ve been nice. Other than that, proximity to downtown was an affordable Uber/Lyft ride away.

We just stayed one night on our way to the desert. The place was clean and quiet and well located. I would not hesitate to recommend.

This motel is pretty close to all the action, but you do have to drive to get there. Take State Street all the way into town for a nice little drive. The motel works hard to keep things really clean and has fantastic amenities - definitely better than average for a motel this size. Front desk help is uneven in terms of politeness.

The keys did not work very well. The phone in my hotel room did not work.

This place had a nice pool and breakfast, and the kids liked it. It is within walking distance (less than a minute or so) to some nice restaurants, stores, and coffee shops, and it is an easy drive to the main tourist spots in Santa Barbara.

Rooms fine, although a little outdated. Clean and quiet. Beds hard. Breakfast could have been better (has limited choices with no meat and no pancakes or waffles). Convenient location within walking distance to restaurants and short drive to downtown.

A convenient local motel that's not a chain. Modest but clean and very well run. Attentive and busy staff. Busy but efficient breakfast room with entirely adequate breakfast food. Quiet. convenient location. Pretty much everything you'd expect from a 2 star motel. Mini-fridge (quiet) and microwave in room. Keurig coffeemaker and adequate supplies. Spent all the time at relatives' house and only came back to sleep, shower, breakfast. In summary: it's a perfectly reasonable motel. No complaints.

Very expensive for an out dated motor lodge. House keeping forgot to clean our room made it sound like it was our fault. Only two flat pillows and the remote didn't even work so not impressed.

I was surprised at what a nice place this was for such economy. Close to the freeway for travelers, and easy to access all the amenities of Santa Barbara! The carpet was worn, but clean. And everything else was clean. We slept in...very comfy bed...so we missed the breakfast, so can't rate that...but there is a very nice restaurant, Max's, across the street, that was very nice...American traditional fused with Cuban-Central America influence.

We do like the hotel and it is well laid out and convenient However, though the front desk staff was very helpful, they forgot to give maid service two of the three days we were there. When I complained they simply said that it was unusual but sorry and the maids had left for the day. After the first time I expected service but they forgot again. The wifi is not good at all but everything else is good and we would stay there again if they can fix this.

Came in late afternoon the show started, Front desk checked us into our room with only seconds remaining to get to the Jimmy Buffet Concert, and hailed my traveling companion and me a cab. We loved our room , enjoyed the concert and breakfast upstairs and ended our stay with a wow we are staying here again next time we visit beautiful Santa Barbara...this place was very clean and very nice people at the front desk! Thank you Santa Barbara!

I stay here all the time Good for Santa Barbara as the price was reasonable when I booked it

This is such a nice hotel for a couple to stay in and just enjoy a weekend away. Its not that far from the beach and the city is great overall. The staff is so nice and comfort was their goal, and that's exactly what we received. Definitely coming back when I am in the area.

The hotel was great! The location was great! Everything was very nice and clean. I wasn't expecting that but overall experience was great! The staff is super friendly too

The wending machine was either not there or not working. Was difficult to get watter bottles. Hence, I had to go to the nearby gas station. Average experience for one night.

Location a bit far from the main area but overall clean, OK breakfast, nice pool, reasonably priced.

We needed a value lodging near highway. Good location in Central Santa Barbara. We enjoyed our brief time in the area visiting the sites and wine country.

The location could not be better! The staff was very accommodating and the continental breakfast was awesome and delicious! Will stay at the Sandpiper every time I get to Santa Barbara!

We were close to restaurants. It was a pleasant place to stay.

The place is really good and the price is really low , but a little noise
