great walking location to funk zone, beach and restaurants, scenic rooftop pool and lots of lounge areas. lovely hotel but it can be noisy from street activities, restaurants and train and hotel was under some construction noise

This hotel is GORGEOUS! You can tell that they invested in this property with all the tiny details, this hotel is definitely 5 stars. There's even a rooftop pool and a lounge area on the room that has 360 views of the mountains and the ocean, so gorgeous and dreamy. Staff there was EXCELLENT! So accommodating and all so nice, from housekeeping and engineering to the front staff. We will definitely be staying here again! Also it's right across from the pier, and it's along State street.. which is like the Main Street of popular cities.
The property was stunning! The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. Our only issue was the restaurant downstairs, the noise level was a lot.
The hotel was very good, staff was good and very convenient location but was overpriced for the value it provided . The parking fees as well as the resort fees were too high for the value it provided
The rooms were spacious and the interior design of the building was beautiful. Customer service was top-notch. Everybody was so gracious and accommodating.

The property is beautiful and perfectly located to everything you need to do in Santa Barbara. No need for a car, every place you need to go (beach, food, downtown) is walking distance.

Hotel staff were excellent. Very attentive. Room large and tasteful. Gorgeous rooftop pool area. Beautiful new building. Fitness center a little small and the goat tree restaurant was disappointing service with good food.
Great hotel to stay in, staff was nice. Just watch out for all of the extra fees that are not included in the hotel purchase.- "resort fees" and extra $30 per day. Sure the perks are great, but would have been nice to know actual costs up front. I wrote them to complain and explained that it was false representation of actual cost of the hotel. No response.

It's brilliant at The Californian. What you might not realize at first is that the Hotel actually spreads across the whole block on all four sides of the street, and it's gorgeous. Totally worth the expense.
