We stayed here over Memorial Day weekend. The hotel itself is nice but in a sort of sketchy neighborhood. We opted the valet our car instead of self park - $22 vs $18. The bathroom was nice in our room. It looked like it was recently remodeled. The room was nice too, we were on the second floor with a river view. They had a small pool but it was raining all weekend so we didn't use it. The staff was friendly. Lots of construction around the hotel so we had to detour to get to it. But it was a good price.

Great hotel, room was huge & amazing. Staff friendly & helpful. Only issue my hubby had was that it's on the quieter end of the RiverWalk but that's more on me because i didn't check where it was located other than River Walk. I enjoyed the location, the amenities, & the friendly, courteous staff. Great price very reasonable.

Great staff who is super friendly and attentive to your needs. You will pay a decent amount to park regardless of whether you use valet or not, primarily because you are downtown. The location is perfect, however it is still a ways from the main attractions of the River Walk. The breakfast buffet is an absolute waste of money, it was flavorless and overly salty to make up for the lack of flavor. If you're thinking that you might save money eating at the buffet, do you self a favor and either eat at their in-house restaurant or somewhere near by - your taste buds and you blood pressure will thank you. Other than the buffet, it is great place to stay!

Not much to do around the hotel. Will need to drive (do not recommend since parking is limited) or Uber (used this twice and had no problems...$7-8 per ride) to get near restaraunts and entertainment. Get daily valet service ($22/nt). A vehicle parked in the "self-park" area ($18) was broken into during our stay. My wife said the area seemed a little "sketchy" on our arrival. Breakfast at the hotel cafe was good. Bourbon Street restaraunt also was pretty tasty. Outdoor pool area was clean and kids had a blast. Pool is in the shade most of the afternoon. Look into booking a room with balcony and pool/river view if you stay here. Friendly and helpful staff. They took care of a billing issue with no problem. Overall...nice hotel, just wish it was in a different area.

We were in San Antonio for the Formula 1 race in Austin. It was the weekend of Hurricane Patricia and it poured. A darn nice place to be stuck indoors good restaurant, very nice staff and a great view of the river rising.

Got upgraded to King room with Riverwalk view and it was beautiful

Took a family trip to see our son graduate the AF academy. This hotel is pretty and has nice rooms but that's about it. Housecleaning forgot to clean our room one day. Made a call to the front desk and they wanted to know if I wanted clean sheets to change them myself. The pool is very small, it looks much much bigger in the picture. The don't give anything for free but coffee in the morning. You are charged to park at their hotel per night. Oh and if you want to make coffee with their bottled water they'll charge you for it.

The hotel is in the Riverside but at least 1 mile from the restaurants. We didn't care because we like to walk and the peace of being far from the crowds. There is a river taxi that you can take if don't want to walk. It costs 15USD per person and the ticket is valid for 24 hours. The beds are queen size and very comfortable. We were four (my wife, son and daughter, all adults). I choose the hotel because it was at the Riverside, it is new and has queen beds. Everything is recently built. Take in consideration they charge 18USD/day for valet parking. You can park free if you find a place in the adjacent streets. I went for the valet parking.

The Wyndham Garden Inn in San Antonio was a wonderful stay for us. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is some of the best food we have enjoyed. Everything about our stay was just perfect. Thank you Wyndham.

It's a nice 15-minute stroll to the Pearl Brewery complex along the river walk. Lots of redevelopment is occurring along the river nearby. Fitness room had a great view out the window. WiFi comes with the room and also HDTV service.

The Wyndham Garden Hotel is a great hotel. Located right on the Riverwalk. It is on the upper end of the Riverwalk but took only 20-25 minutes to walk down to the heart of the action. It was a little hard to find by land and one night our taxi cab driver couldn't even find it. Part of that is the fact that it just opened in Dec. 2013. Taxi cab fares from hotel to heart of the Riverwalk were always under $10. Rooms were very nice with great beds, bathroom and 37" flat screen TV. The restaurant and bar was great with a good variety of things on the menu. I would recommend this to anyone that wants to be on the Riverwalk but in a quieter part of it.

While the amenities and staff were great, the 'Riverwalk' location the hotel boasts is a bit of an exaggeration. While it is on the Riverwalk, it's about a two mile hike to get to the center of town, so make sure to bring your walking shoes.

Room was nice and comfortable , location was right on river and easy walk along river to downtown River Walk area or just steps to board river taxi. Our biggest and only complaint was noise from connecting room .Don't know if was just because room had a connecting room door or thin walls, but being able to hear neighbors clearly when tv was off was very annoying .Definitely recommend ear plugs to sleep if someone is next door.

It was clean, was not impressed with the staff. They were not very informative. I had to ask about things that should have been standard info for checking in. On the plus side the restaurant in the hotel was excellent.

I thought that the hotel was misrepresented by their website. It was located several miles from the downtown Riverwalk area, and was near run down and abandoned buildings. I did not feel it was safe to walk to the area attractions and did not anticipate having to drive and pay for parking. Also, there was a fee for parking at the hotel. The hotel had a continental breakfast area but it was not available for use. The only breakfast option was in the hotel restaurant. The staff did not provide detailed information about the guest ammenities. The website also showed pictures of an indoor pool which it does not have. Overall, the staff was friendly and addressed areas of concern.

The first thing I notice was the inadequate parking. Then I realize it was because this is a really small hotel. This hotel is a 30 min walk to the downtown river walk area. The beds where hard has a rock and the rooms where very small. It reminded me of a holiday inn. I ask for 3 blankets and was brought one but would not bring anymore. For the money I was very disappointed. I would not recommend this hotel.

Everything was amazing. The bed was so comfortable. The room was very clean. The view was great.

The hotel experience was great, friendly staff, good location and an excellent restaurant in house. I would highly recommend.

The hotel itself is very nice although I didn't like the shower head. (Picky detail.) But, iIt was just luck that I decided to call the hotel directly and verify the location or I would have been really unhappy when I arrived. There's nothing around it as far as eating, shopping, etc... unless you go quite a ways. Taxi cost us about $8 for 3 people plus tip one way to Alamo Square. There's no breakfast option except for the full service restaurant - yet. The Starbucks-ish café wasn't open yet so we had to allow extra time to go eat breakfast but a great excuse to go to Schilos! I would stay here again, if being near the Alamo Square part of the Riverwalk and being near anything else didn't matter. I suspect they are about halfway between the RW and the Museums but I didn't do museums as it was business for me.

Right by the river walk, walking distance from some attractions, short drive to main attractions like market square and the Alamo!

nice hotel on the riverwalk

River view from the back of the hotel. A river taxi can pick you up right outside the hotel.

Thank you so much for the nice review. We are located on the Museum reach end of the riverwalk which is still an up and coming area however; it tends to be a little more quite. We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay and we hope to see you again in the future.

Thank you for your great feedback and good review. I am glad to hear that the staff were helpful and friendly. Also that you enjoyed the food for both breakfast and in Bourbon Street. We are at the Museum Reach end of the Riverwalk which is still developing but we tend to be a little more quite at this end. Again, thank you for your feedback and I love the picture.
