Marriott University Park

3.5 out of 5.0

This is a great location for a weekend stay. The gym is a little hidden (located behind the bar). But, it’s always clean and presents as very high-quality. If you have travel plans near University or Fort Douglas, this is definitely a place to consider. Plus, there’s a Starbucks, bar, and restaurant in the hotel.

Great hotel for folks visiting the University of Utah.

Clean, quiet. Room temperature was somewhat high to allow a good sleep.

With a Marriott, you expect the best hotel experience. Sadly this was not our experience. The shower took at least 10 minutes to actually heat up, we found a sticker in our bed (which makes you question when the sheets were last changed), and when my husband wanted a diet soda

The staff was really nice and helpful with directions. The rooms were really clean. The area is nice and only 10 min from downtown.

First of all, I liked the location of this hotel: very close to Botanical Garden and to the mountains. Inside of hotel looks quite modern. Our room, although premium didn’t have AC working. The staff came in and “fixed” it. The air still wasn’t cold and it was very noisy. We were too tired to bother asking them again. Fan in the bathroom didn’t work either resulting in condensation and humidity as a result. Overall, it wasn’t bad but not something I’d recommend to others, nor would I stay there again.

I always come here when I stay in Salt Lake City. The staff is very friendly, helpful and accomodating. Love the view but it is better on the south side of the hotel. This Marriott is up by the University and it's stadium, close to the zoo and other downtown attractions.

Great hotel and staff and facilities. Only disappointment was the buffet breakfast, at $16 food items were COLD.

I checked in really late like midnight so I was really tired. The staff who checked me in was nice but he didn't explain anything about the hotel for the first time customer. They just get you in your room asap? No warm welcoming or smile. Moreover, my room key had a problem too many times and I had to make many round trip from my room to the desk on the main level which was so irritated. I requested 2 beds room but I got 1 king bed room. During whole 3 nights stay, I didn't get room cleaned, no linen changed/no bed made (I had to make my bed which was awful.), and no new towels. After I came back from downtown when it was around 4pm, I got in the room and I found out my bed was as when I left. Crew came to the door said "Sorry, I was late to come to work..".He quickly put the new towel and off to next. Next day I didn't get any service at all. I used the same bed sheets for 3 nights, no vacuum or trash out. Even more, cleaning crew came this morning and knocked on my door when I was in shower at 8 am. I complained when I checked out. But staff was just getting free coffee from Starback, not lunch/dinner or voucher for next stay, either. I don't drink coffee so this didn't work for me. Very cheap and poor service at this Marriott Univ. Park. Downtown Marriott might be much better for the price. I don't recommend this for nothing unless I couldn't find any other cheaper place.

Nice hotel, situated on the U of U campus. Rooms were clean and quite. Highly recommend.

Found this hotel to be convenient to most everything we needed this trip - wedding at Red Butte Gardens, shuttle, hiking, Hogle Zoo, restaurants, family.

My family was in town visiting so I rented us a room. By the time the 4 of us got there we were given a king bed and told they were all sold out of any rooms with two beds. Two of us had to pack up our stuff and leave. It was a little disappointing. The hotel itself is very nice.

Easy to getting in and out of hotel!! Recommend to all!

Convenient location at the University of Utah campus. Came for a weekend to check out the U

Hotel was OK/average. .....................................................................................................................................................

People were great and very friendly. The room had Box Elder flies in it which they need to get rid of.

The perfect place to stay if you want to be close to the university about 1 1/2 miles away

Room wasn't overly clean and it seemed really old and dated for the amount of money we paid to stay there. Loved how close it was to University of Utah hospital. The front desk staff was great!

Thank you for your response. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. Unfortunately, there is no way to request and guarantee a room facing the south side of the valley. We try to accommodate those requests as best we can at check in. We appreciate your valued feedback and hope to see you again soon. Yours in Hospitality, Jericka Front Office Manager
