Marriott University Park

3.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

I always come here when I stay in Salt Lake City. The staff is very friendly, helpful and accomodating. Love the view but it is better on the south side of the hotel. This Marriott is up by the University and it's stadium, close to the zoo and other downtown attractions.

Great hotel and staff and facilities. Only disappointment was the buffet breakfast, at $16 food items were COLD.

I checked in really late like midnight so I was really tired. The staff who checked me in was nice but he didn't explain anything about the hotel for the first time customer. They just get you in your room asap? No warm welcoming or smile. Moreover, my room key had a problem too many times and I had to make many round trip from my room to the desk on the main level which was so irritated. I requested 2 beds room but I got 1 king bed room. During whole 3 nights stay, I didn't get room cleaned, no linen changed/no bed made (I had to make my bed which was awful.), and no new towels. After I came back from downtown when it was around 4pm, I got in the room and I found out my bed was as when I left. Crew came to the door said "Sorry, I was late to come to work..".He quickly put the new towel and off to next. Next day I didn't get any service at all. I used the same bed sheets for 3 nights, no vacuum or trash out. Even more, cleaning crew came this morning and knocked on my door when I was in shower at 8 am. I complained when I checked out. But staff was just getting free coffee from Starback, not lunch/dinner or voucher for next stay, either. I don't drink coffee so this didn't work for me. Very cheap and poor service at this Marriott Univ. Park. Downtown Marriott might be much better for the price. I don't recommend this for nothing unless I couldn't find any other cheaper place.

Nice hotel, situated on the U of U campus. Rooms were clean and quite. Highly recommend.

Found this hotel to be convenient to most everything we needed this trip - wedding at Red Butte Gardens, shuttle, hiking, Hogle Zoo, restaurants, family.

My family was in town visiting so I rented us a room. By the time the 4 of us got there we were given a king bed and told they were all sold out of any rooms with two beds. Two of us had to pack up our stuff and leave. It was a little disappointing. The hotel itself is very nice.

Easy to getting in and out of hotel!! Recommend to all!

Convenient location at the University of Utah campus. Came for a weekend to check out the U

Hotel was OK/average. .....................................................................................................................................................

People were great and very friendly. The room had Box Elder flies in it which they need to get rid of.

The perfect place to stay if you want to be close to the university about 1 1/2 miles away

Room wasn't overly clean and it seemed really old and dated for the amount of money we paid to stay there. Loved how close it was to University of Utah hospital. The front desk staff was great!

The hotel exceeded my expectations, although I should have known it would, being a Marriott. The location was perfect for a reunion of college classmates and was my first return to SLC in many years. The view of the Wasatch mountains from my window brought back many memories from my student days. The staff was wonderful!

conveniently located. loved the Starbucks in the building.

We stayed for 2 nights 10 days before Christmas! The hotel was so festive--hosting parties from the research park and the university on the lower level. The glass elevators went up the middle and the rooms were arranged on both sides around an open center area, where you could see from the lowest floor to the highest floor. The desk personnel were very friendly and helpful. The room was tastefully decorated and the bed was very comfortable. We could regulate the room temperature, so that we had a refreshingly cool night's sleep. It was located close to the wedding we were attending. Despite the parties and the openness, it was quiet. Exercise room was excellent and had a beautiful view. Breakfast was delicious!

Its was okay for the time we stayed there, they didn't make the hide a bed sofa when they knew there was going to be 3 people.

The hotel is close to the University of Utah hospital were I was visiting a family member. The hotel was very nice and clean. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to help me with transportation. I would definitely recommend this hotel and plan to stay here again my trip to Utah.

Staff was great. Hotel is bright and open. Kids loved swimming in pool and eating in restaurant. Only one complaint were the hard beds.

Well first of all, it's got amazing beds! Loveliest efficient staff.

Hotel service and food was fantastic, as was the shuttle service. Room had cobwebbs in the corners, bath mirror had age spots coming thru, toilet lid had several spots where the porcelin was missing and toilet leaked. Would not stay here again!

Thank you for your response. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. Unfortunately, there is no way to request and guarantee a room facing the south side of the valley. We try to accommodate those requests as best we can at check in. We appreciate your valued feedback and hope to see you again soon. Yours in Hospitality, Jericka Front Office Manager
