Salt Lake Plaza Hotel at Temple Square

Great hotel, not the newest hotel, but it's very clean and had great staff. There is an airport shuttle that was so helpful. And the have a parlor room with games and a TV, so when you're waiting for your ride you have something to do. Also a small shop that had more local trinkets than the actual gift shop down the street. Great hotel for the price.

I was in Salt Lake city for work related conference at the Kelvin Rampton Convention center, so chose the Salt Lake Plaza Hotel. I took the Trax green-line train from the airport and it drops you right in front of the Plaza Hotel. The convention center, the city Creek mall and the magnificent Temple are directly opposite the Plaza which eliminated the need for transportation. Best of all, the view of the mountain from 11th floor was priceless.

This hotel is perfect if you want to be close to Temple Square (across the street) and close to shopping (City Creek Mall also across the street). They have a nominal fee for secure, covered parking. Front desk was very friendly and knowledgeable .The view from our room was beautiful, especially at night. Plenty of restaurants close by. If you need to get to the SLC airport, they have a complimentary airport shuttle which makes staying the night prior to departure a lot more fun when you can be downtown.

Semi-easy location unless gps sends you up the wrong way on South Temple then you have to drive a few more blocks before you can make a u-turn. Easy walk to see the sights on the square plus shopping, the restaurant downstairs was good.

I wasn't expecting much from the hotel, and it lived up to that. Rooms were clean, and housekeeping staff friendly. The general staff never seemed to be around, I called the front desk 7 times over the course of an hour and never got a response. When I walked to the desk later it was vacant. The hotel was close to the meeting I was at, which was convenient. The area around the hotel is not the greatest, although seeing as one of the other people I was at the meeting with had someone try to mug him nearby I don't think any of that area is great.

Found dark hairs on bathroom floor :( eeeww) Not much counter space in bathroom for makeup bag ect. Not told at check in it was $8 per night to park sink and shower cold/hot water were backwards

The location was good and staff were very nice. The hotel does not have any facilities though.

Heating/thermostat very loud and not accurate. Very noisy. Facilities very dated. Hallway had dishes that were not picked up for 2 days, not sure where they came from because there is no room service available. Parking structure not connected to hotel, you have to walk down the ramps to the ground floor to get to lobby. I should have paid a few extra dollars to stay at the other hotels nearby.

Roger at the front desk was great and we got the room we wanted

I stayed here because it of it's great location. It is within easy walking distance of downtown Salt Lake City. However, the hotel itself is definitely not the best for your money.

The hotel is in a great location so that's nice. The facilities do seem very old, the rooms are rather small and it was pretty noisy.

I had such an enjoyable stay at this hotel. I had a rental car but walked to dinner at Tucanos for dinner and walked the beautiful grounds of temple square the next morning. So much great shopping close by.

Front desk staff very helpful with slight change in reservations.

This hotel has seen better days for sure. It was clean but one of the bed sheets was reaped in a visible corner. We though that having to pay for parking was of bad taste. Also they do not offer a complementary breakfast. I called front desk asking for something. The man that came to my door (I needed an answer only. I wasn't planning in letting him in), stepped into the room as soon as I opened the door, then looked all around while answering my question...quite creepy.

This hotel is clean, comfortable and conveniently located. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The Plaza is a lovely comfortable hotel with a fantastic location.

It was clean and very convenient. Average size, but the location is right next to my destination, so perfect for me.

Hotel was great and an excellent location to see the sights. Sadly we had a big snowstorm and cold weather that limited our city tour.

No shuttle service going from airport to hotel after 10:30 pm. Because I incountered a flight delay I did not land in Salt Lake City until 12:00 am I had to take a taxi. Next morning I was making reservations at front desk for the shuttle to take me to airport the day I leave, shuttle service was all booked up, no room. Again I had to take a taxi. Total cost for taxi $50.00. Water drainage problem in bathtub and vanity sink. The Plaza Hotel needs to get their act together.
