Surprised my husband for his birthday, made sure the reservation noted that our stay was a gift and surprise. Upon arrival the front desk attendant announced the price of the room. She then asked if we had stayed before and when we said yes, that we stayed on our honeymoon almost 19 years earlier, she gave us a look like she couldnt believe we had waited that long to come back and continued to stare, mouth open for an uncomfortable amount of time. I was very annoyed. Then we made it to our room (Hawaiian room). It was much smaller than the pictures made the room look, and the bed was awful. It felt like we were trying to sleep on an inner tube. Didnt feel like our stay was worth the money we paid.
Really was unsure what to expect, but upon arrival we were amazed that the room actually lived up to what the pictures presented. The room was much bigger than expected (stayed in the swiss family robinson suite), with the decorations all looking very good and well cleaned. The bath/waterfall-shower was outstanding, by far the best feature of any room we've ever stayed in. There was a loose floorboard in the room, but after mentioning it to staff, they said they'd be getting on top of it right away. The room was also a little too warm, though I personally liked it as it added to the tropical feel (the elevated bed causing it to feel hotter than if it were at ground level). The little touches however really made the stay excellent; the small details in the room, the fish tank, the little treats, all making for a lovely night. The location was a nice surprise as well, tucked away and with very secure, easily accessible parking. Overall we cannot wait to return and highly recommend this room (so long as you don't mind things a little warmer). Looking forward to seeing what the other rooms offer in future. As a side note, the breakfast was also wonderful and was the icing on the cake.
Why has no one left a review in so long? Let me help you out. The pictures are AMAZING and bright, the reviews claim “unique and cute”, the hotel rating is a 3 star??. What’s not to like? My beautiful new bride and I pulled into a parking lot with a dark brick building that was easily made in the 20s or 30s.....small windows and very few of them. (Who cares, old buildings can be unique!) Yeah....if they’re updated. We nervously pulled into an old underground parking lot that had NO cars in it...literally almost no one was there. Accept 2 workers. It looked like we pulled into an abandoned warehouse built in the 30s. So I left her in the car to go make sure this was even the place. Inside I found two very kind people who checked me in and gave me a key to my room. Inside condition looked exactly what you’d expect. Dark, humid and muggy with the smell of swamp coolers. Zero windows, old outdated carpet and walls. The room was about the same. The only way I could describe it is like a zoo exhibit. Like someone took a solid concrete room with no windows and put some fake decorations around it 3/4 up the wall and dark and muggy! The room looked nothing like the bright cute picture, it was small and barely fit the bed. I imagine other rooms are bigger but still just as old and outdated with a dark muggy atmosphere. I definitely see a correlation in here with reviews in terms of the generational age of the people writing them so read accordingly😉 After sitting in my room in shock staring at the old pipes and vents painted over across the ceiling I went down and told the front desk that it just wasn’t gonna work out. They were kind, but wouldn’t give me a refund for the $300 room I had just purchased for 12 minutes. Still totally worth leaving and going to nice hotel where my new wife and I felt clean and safe!
This was disappointing. When we made the reservation we were told we were being "upgraded". Reservationist (female) made it sound like The Presidential Suite was really something special. Truth be told, this had to be the last room available and it wasn't worth what we paid. The room is outdated and run down, the mattress needs to be replaced, and the bed sheets are the scratchy ones. To move from the bathroom to the bedroom, you have to open and close the bathroom door and the shower is IN the bedroom and offers no privacy. The mini refrigerator is on the floor in the bathroom closet where they keep the complimentary cheesecake. No thank you! The above ground TRAX train was right outside our window and made sleeping nearly impossible. The TV screen was the size of a desktop monitor and was positioned in a corner armoire far from the bed. When we left in the morning and noticed the other rooms (doors were open while being cleaned), it was clear we were staying in a very different room. Very disappointing, couldn't recommend this property.
Fresh cookies on arrival, Stayed in the tree house room. We loved it. The Jacuzzi tub had a waterfall. Cheese cake and sparkling cider for desert. Then a great breakfast in bed the following morning. We will be back.
What a fun place! This was our first stay and we look forward to future stays and trying out different rooms. We stayed in the Swiss Family Robinson suite and it was fun, delightful, and different than anything else we have ever done. The bed is up some stairs in the branches of a tree. The shower is actually a waterfall flowing over rocks and into the oversized, jetted tub. Cheesecake slices, sparkling cider, DVDs and breakfast are all included with the room rate. You order breakfast when you check in and choose a delivery time and it is left outside your door in the morning. Insider tip – book early as the choice of suites is limited. You will want to book far ahead of time to make sure you get the suite you want. If you want a sneak peek of the rooms in person before you book they allow you to tour the rooms from 1pm to 3pm every day.
Friendly staff, clean, and fun. Stayed in the Wild West room and slept in a Conestoga Wagon/like bed. Large tub with bucket shower. Breakfast in the room. The newer of the two AIs in SLC. Short trip to the Tabernacle.
I surprised my boyfriend and booked the Lake Powell suite. The room style is awesome and really well made. The bath tub was very nice, also the waterfall shower, which we thank the little book in the room to have talked about it, otherwise we wouldn’t have tried it. The breakfast was good, not exceptional. The king size bed was very comfy. We had a problem with our toilet which didn’t flush properly, that was a shame (especially for my boyfriend!). We recommend the restaurant Old Spaghetti Factory nearby. Cheap and really nice pasta.
High end, expensive hotel room that has many different themes. It is a nice quaint location and there are several different fantasy suites to choose from. Once locked inside your room, there is little disturbance from the outside world and the fun can begin. Each theme is fun and unique. The food that comes with the room is also high quality. If you are in need of a nice evening, romantic getaway, this is definitely a place to consider and will help you with that goal! The room we stayed in could use an upgraded bed, and I wish they would put more pillows in there, but other than that it was good.
This was our first time at Anniversary Inn since our wedding night, and they didn’t disappoint. The apple cider, water, and cheesecakes were nice, and the breakfast was great. Loved the frittata and also the yogurt parfait. We stayed in the Bridal Veil room, and liked the roomy shower and room. We have a Cal King bed at home, so the queen was a bit smaller than we’re used to. Look out for the tree branch, if you get off the bed to the left. The A/C works well, but is a bit loud. The check in and check out were very friendly. After check out a few rooms were open, so I peeked in and saw other options for next time. Parking here was nice with covered parking. That’d be great in the winter.
