We were travelling with our dog so were limited to where we could stay. We got a room at the Quality Inn and had the perfect room for our dog. It was on the first floor, close to the outside door and even better, had a sliding door to the outside to let our dog out easily in the middle of the night. As advertised, there is a new hot tub. It is an above ground hot tub and quite small. For the two of us it was just fine. I doubt if you could have more than 4 people in it at a time. The breakfast was pretty good. There was biscuits and gravy, waffles, potatoes, and eggs, etc. The staff was nice and there is a nice restaurant attached to the motel.
Do not under any circumstances stay at this hotel. It is filthy beyond belief. I accidentally went into the kitchen and my shoes stuck to the floor. I am calling the health department in that county as soon as I get home. Dirty hotel. Disgusting floors and carpet. Incompetent management. I hope they shut these people down.
The customer service we received was great! The large courtyard inside the hotel was a great place to gather with family. The only down side, besides the dog that barked all night next door, by no fault of the hotel, is that there is not an elevator. If you have heavy luggage, I suggest you request a room on the bottom floor. Restaurant and bar within the hotel also have great service and the menu looked good.
Price was low. Location a couple miles off I-70 on i-135 may explain that. Staff was pleasant and competent. Room was satisfactory but showed signs of wear and tear. TV and wireless Internet worked fine. Sleeping was fine. Didn't try the pool. Large atrium was unusual but nice. Ping-pong table there was also unusual. Didn't look for other exercise facilities. Breakfast area was large, busy, but not crowded. Breakfast offerings were standard but good. Checking out went smoothly.
I often stay at Quality Inn properties because the brand is generally reliable for clean, pleasant, attractive, and consistent standards. That's why on a long-distance trip I reserved the Quality Inn at Salina as an overnight rest stop. I was very disappointed. From the outside, the property looks old but okay enough. The front desk clerk was very curt with me, demanding - not just asking - for my ID along with my credit card. I don't recall ever being asked for my ID at Quality Inn but I handed over my military ID card. The clerk handed it back without a word and instructed me how to use the credit card reader as if I was a child. He told me there was no smoking and asked if I was staying in the room alone. I did not care for his peremptory attitude but I was very tired and did not engage him. The side door entryway and corridor felt like a very low-budget motel and the musty smell hit me immediately. Upon entering my room I was surprised to find that there was no outside window just a patio door that was in very poor repair opening into a large interior conference room space. There was no natural light at all and the room smelled of mildew. My first thought was that I am not staying in this place but I really needed to be off the road and did not want to go looking for another place. I went into the large room outside the door, which was dimly lit with video games, pool tables, a ping-pong table and other such things scattered around and very worn-looking and dingy carpeting. There was a sunken sitting area that looked very nice but the lighting was so dismal it was in no way appealing. The pool and hot tub area was fine and I did enjoy that. It felt like sleeping in a cave and I was restless all night. Breakfast was okay - except the gravy was disgusting - but it was in a dismal, unattractive space just like everything else at this motel. I will certainly never stay at this place again. This property damages an otherwise very good brand.
We stopped here on our way home from Colorado and it was OK enough. We didn't eat or us the bar, just got in and slept before heading out the next morning. That being said, the check in process was smooth, the room was comfortable and it was quiet.
We stayed here heading west and liked it enough to want to stay here on our return trip. It's a large property that's undergone recent renovations. Both times, our room was clean, the beds and pillows slept great, the bathroom was roomy and clean. The towels were nice and white. The room lighting is a bit dim, but this is the only drawback. The breakfast bar is a strong feature. It's big and roomy and the attendant keeps it all tidy and stocked. Best of all, she makes fried eggs!! Our breakfast was as good as any we've enjoyed at Cracker Barrel. Coffee is good and strong too. It's about 3 miles off I70 but worth it. Thanks Salina Quality Inn!!
We love to stay in this hotel when our family gets together. There is a large indoor courtyard to get together in and hang out. The pool was clean and the water was warm. Our rooms were clean and everything worked great. Wasn't impressed with the hot food bar but it was fine. I noticed some dogs in rooms so they must be allowed at least in some rooms. With that being said, I'm very particular about smells and couldn't smell pets at all. Nice to have the bar and restaurant attached.
Literally stayed here a total of 5 hours as was looking only to ge a few hours of sleep before continuing on down the road. Check in was smooth and was able to get into the room quickly. Picked this hotel as it was along the highway and first one I saw. Maybe could have found a more reasonably priced room for my purpose. Bed was ok and continental breakfast was good. No real issues, as like I said, was only a quick stay just to get a few hours of sleep.
This is a really neat hotel. Many of the rooms open onto an indoor courtyard. The best part is the pool and hot tub. They keep the pool very warm. I loved being able to walk right into the pool without having to dread the initial chilly plunge. As other reviewers have noted, the property is older, and the rooms are showing some wear; but, they are clean and comfortable. We value the interesting character of the hotel far more than new carpet and a modern decor.
