We had been turned away from the Courtyard by Marriott as they would not honour our airline voucher. Our flight was delayed so I booked this hotel last minute when we were distraught and extremely tired. From the minute we walked into the hotel we felt welcome and the night receptionist and security man were so nice to us. The following morning the lovely receptionist, Jean O'Neill, I think, was absolutely lovely. Gave us toothbrushes and some other much needed amenities as we had no bags. She was so nice and helpful and had a great sense of humour. We had a lovely breakfast. All staff we encountered are a credit to the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel. Thank you to all the staff for making a bad night much better!😉
We are Universal pass-holders and we visit Orlando 3-4 times per year from our home in SW FL. We usually select a new hotel each time because we can't seem to find one that lives up to the quality we expect. Orlando and the surrounding areas offers hundreds of hotels to choose from. I came across this hotel offering rooms for $81 per night. We know the area very well so we figured it was a safe place...and we were right. The hotel is wonderful! Literally 3-4 minutes from Universal Studios, close to shopping, and very secure. They have on-site security and you must use your room key to activate the elevator. We were on the 6th floor and had a great view of Volcano Bay and the Orlando Eye. I wished they accepted pets just because we hate to leave our little guy at home with a sitter, but aside from that it's a great hotel! We will be back again and again!
The hotel is so near from Disney World and Universal Studios, there's a shuttle bus taking the guest from - to , and also they're offering the tickets at the reception, the hotel it self not bad it's okay for short stay , the room service is v.good , poor restaurants choices around the hotel .
Stayed there for 3 nights June 13-16 for a trade show at the convention center. When I arrived Tuesday night I was told my studio room on the top floor was leaking and had to be taken out of service for repairs. I was advised I was being downgraded to double queen room. Ruth was at the front desk and had to deliver the bad news. The hotel was at 100% capacity so luckily they had something else they can put me into. I took the news in stride and checked into my new room. Upon getting settled in I stepped into a huge wet spot near the window. Apparently there was some kind of leak in this room as well, which I immediately reported. The TV wasn't working either. Again, went down to talk to Ruth who was polite and friendly and apologized on behalf of the hotel. I went out to get something to eat and when I came back an hour later my TV was working but the water by the window was not address. By this time, I was exhausted and went to bed. Woke up at 5:30am to start my busy day at the trade show and hopped into the shower. Well, to my surprise there was no hot water. I would say it was slightly below luke warm. Called down to report the water issue and was told their maintenance crew was looking into it. After an hour waiting I decided to take the cold shower as I needed to start my day. Not a great experience so far. When I went down for breakfast I saw Ruth again. By this time we became best friends. She was visibly upset at my hotel experience so far and promised to talk to management to try and make it right. So now I return from day 1 of the trade show and arrive to my room only to be greeted by the smell of musky carpet water. It was awful and not welcoming at all. At this point I've pretty much almost lost my patience so I went down again to talk to Ruth. I was calm, she was patient and caring but had to tell her I am a loyal SPG rewards member but this experience is snowballing downhill. I went back up to my room and the phone rang. It was Ruth, she had a new room just down the hall from where I was. She personally came up to the 20th floor to show it to me. Things were looking up. The room was fresh and clean with no musky odor. I immediately switched. The hot water problem was also fixed by this time. The rest of the stay was fine. The free breakfast in the morning was decent. The WiFi was strong. The shower water pressure was lower than i typically like it So Overall...To anyone from this hotel who is reading this you should really do a deep dive and inspect all your rooms. Check for leaks, check for water. Freshen up the rooms a bit. The best part of my stay was interacting with Ruth. She is a gem of a customer service rep and a shining star to your staff. I also had a great conversation with the manager on duty I forget his name, the entire staff was great, including the friendly gentleman that greats you when you arrive in your car. The hotel needs some mechanical work though. When I return to Orlando I will be staying at Four Points again even though this experience wasn't so great.
It really has nice odd shaped rooms (the hotel is round). And a great little refrig. The beds are nice as well and it was clean. BUT the elevators are a little scary. And the area around does not seem very safe. I am not sure I would want my little girls to stay with me at this hotel. And I did place a chair at the door, so if anyone tried to come in I would here it. Just felt a little uneasy about my safety.
Located at edge of international drive 2 miles from universal resort is this bus unless style hotel.i stayed with my family for 8 nights. The good was that supermarket and few eating places were walking distance , the bad was that it was far from the happening district in orlando and free shuttle pick up and drop from parks was not frequent enough and took long detours and the ugly was that the room was smelly and we had to change it after suffering for 3 nights.the room was large and queen beds were nice .room service was poor
Stayed for a four night trip to universal parks. The good: Nice clean spacious king room with a great view. Maid service very courteous and helpful. Pool bar staff excellent and friendly reasonable prices. Main restaurant had decent food. The bad: Rude front desk staff. Called to inquire about pool and she got very nasty. Spoke to manager and got issue resolved but they need to teach their front desk staff some customer service skills. Would I stay there again probably not wasn't bad but I think there are better options in the area.
Booked a room for a Staycation to Universal Orlando. Booked online and reserved a King suite. Upon check in, was given a Double Queen room. Due to the time and how exhausted we were, opted not to ask to change. I did find it rather odd that there were no trash bags in the waste baskets in the room or bathroom. Not until the next morning, did I see that there was still trash from the previous occupant in the waste basket by the coffee maker, as well as no coffee or the other essentials that one would expect
How this property is still allowed to fly a Starwood flag is beyond me. I went to attend a convention and the room was old, dirty and Roach infested. I'm done with me or my family ever going back. The staff wouldn't even do anything about it (an exterminating service maybe??). Awful!
Before telling you about my recent experience lets rewind to last August 2016. My fiance and I stayed at this hotel for one night just to go to Islands of Adventures and Universal, which it is great location wise and closeness to the parks. Hotel looked awesome from the outside and we were super pumped! Well, checking into our room everything seemed fine with the room. Lots of space and great view. When I went to take a shower, the faucet that water comes out of popped out and hit my foot leaving a bruise. Mid shower, I got out and my fiance and I went downstairs to the front desk where we were granted access to switch rooms. The excuse they gave was they were "renovating and changing things" which I guess was fine. Getting into our next room, we walked in and immediately walked out because we saw something (that I do not even want to mention) on our bed! We QUICKLY went downstairs again, for the second time that night. They manager granted us access to a suite on the top floor as well as two breakfast passes.. which was nice but I think it wasn't enough for all the moving around and troubles we went through. OK, fast forward to Sunday night May 28 2017. We checked into this hotel again, giving it another chance since last year they said they were renovating and remodeling. Upon arrival things were Ok. The lights on the actual hotel were cool looking and we got to check in right away. We got a room on the 7th floor and as soon as we walked in our room it smelled like something had died in there. We were sooooo upset to be going through this again. I, once again decided to take a shower before going downstairs having just being at Volcano Bay. The shower handle was SO hard to turn and I actually could not turn it off once my shower was over. I had to call my fiance to come in and turn the pipe off and he struggled with it for about 5 minutes I am not kidding! We went downstairs after this and spoke to the front desk lady who gave us another room on the 10th floor, with a view of the park (which we didn't ask for). Getting into our new room everything was clean and bathroom was fine. The only problem with this room is their blinds were broken. Instead of complaining to change rooms once again we just dealt with it until about 6:30 am, while the sun was beaming into our room. My fiance got up and once again had to fight with the drawstring beads in order to finally get it down and for us to be able to sleep. Overall, this hotel really does need work. We tried to give it another chance because it really is a great location. We are super disappointed and don't think we will be giving this hotel another try :( although we do believe in 2 and 3rd chances. HOPE THIS REVIEW HELPS.
