DoubleTree by Hilton at the Entrance to Universal Orlando

I booked this because it was within walking distance to Universal and there was a big event at Universal and I didn’t want to fight to get my car out of the parking garage afterwards. I expected more from a Hilton. The room was a fairly nice size. The bathroom had plenty of towels and large vanity. That being said, the bathroom needed some work. The toilet would barely flush. After I reported it, at least the paper would go down, but it still was very sluggish. The toilet had some sort of brown stain in it, possibly rust. It was not very appealing to look at, and I think it could have been removed with a little effort. The bathroom also wasn’t as clean as it could have been. The grout lines were grungy, moldy caulking and where the toilet is bolted to the floor, the covers were missing and it looked dirty. Also, the only outlet in the bathroom wouldn’t work. I tried pushing the reset button but that wasn’t the problem. This also was not corrected after I reported it. It wasn’t terribly expendise through Orbitz, but for $180.00 a night (including $20.00 a day parking fee) I expected more. I’ve stayed at better for under $100.00 not much further away.

The bath needs an exhaust fan, better lighting, and shower gel. Pillow and beds uncomfortable. Movies way too expensive, food was Meh. Staff very nice, but facility and costs need improvement.

We booked hotel because of the proximity to Universal and free shuttle. We were never able to use the shuttle because they were always booked at the time we wanted to depart. It defeats the purpose of the shuttle if it picks up at 3 other properties first. We stayed during the cold spell and our room's heat did not work properly. It was set to 76 and it felt like cool air and would not stop running. It was very loud while we slept.

Good experience, we love coming to this hotel when we go to Universal/islands of adventure.

My wife left some clothing behind in a draw, we rang the hotel 4 times within 2 hours of checking out notifying them of this with a promise of a phone call back but alas no one bothered to call back, after the 4th call we waited on the line while they checked the room and surprise surprise the clothing was no longer there, the room was not occupied by anyone else at this time as it was before check in time so where did the clothing go? Only housekeeping had been in the room and the clothing disappeared I call this theft of our property even though it was left behind and we rang within 2 hours of checkout, this matter is far from over.

20$ parking per day. Stayed during the winter and the heat would not cut on. Had the thermostat at 88 and it was blowing out cold air. My first room smelled lkke smoke, second they put me in a handicap room, and the last room the last room they put me in, the toilet wouldn't flush right.

Orbitz booking was not as promised. I was hoping to a better room for the price paid.

Great Stay- easy check in and check out. Need to earn reward points even if booked thru a 3rd party.

Two of my friends and myself chose your hotel for a 3 day getaway and to explore Universal for one day. Everything from making the reservation to checkin/checkout was amazing. I had a few questions about the stay and getting tickets to Universal on-site and spoke to Frank. He was very knowledgeable and had answers to all of my questions. Even if he wasn't sure about the answer, he followed up and was able to provide me with the correct information. I told him that we were visiting for my friends birthday, and to our surprise when we arrived to our room there was a bottle of sparking wine and a birthday card!! She was completely shocked and so thrilled!! Thanks Frank! When we arrived and checked in with Lee, he was very welcoming and after traveling in the car for a couple hours we were all ready to shower and relax, which we were able to do since he was speedy but thorough with all the amenities. After our long day at Universal we were planning on going out for a nice dinner, but decided to just order some pizza and check out the American Grill bar. The bartender (Ryan) was very hospitable and kind. Thank you so much Double Tree (entrance to Universal Studios) for the amazing experience. We will definitely be back!

Great location. Very friendly staff. Excellent amenities. Very clean and modern.

My experience was very relaxing, nice atmosphere, great food, a must place to visit and stay for your vacation . I recommend this hotel to anyone who plans to fly to Orlando and try double tree by hilton at the entrance to universal Orlando. 2 thumbs up for sure. You will not be dissapointed.

Very nice lobby & patio area .Walking distance to Universal. Great view of Universal & City Walk at night. Spacious room

A Great place to stay and very close to where I wanted to experience fun with my son at universal studios. I love doubletree hotels and have never been disappointed by them when I stay at doubletree.

This was a nice Doubletree, large pool, firepit, you can even buy the smores kit in the deli, several food choices, comfy beds, starbucks in lobby---directly across from Universal, they say it's a 15 minute walk but there are free scheduled shuttles, which we took

Great hotel! Great hotel! Free shuttle to nearby parks! Loved our stay!

There was a little construction when we arrived but it was on the joined hotel next to the one we stayed in. We got upgraded to the Hilton Honors on the 14th floor facing Universal Studios-- great location! The room was a good size and very clean. Newly renovated. There is a convenient bar/restaurant and Starbucks located next to the elevators on the first floor. I did not spend any time at the pool. There is a Walgreens nearby which was nice, we picked up breakfast food so we could easily eat and walk over to the parks in the morning. It was nice to not have to rely on a shuttle or pay for a cab. It was about a 10-15 minute walk to City Walk.
