Residence Inn Marriott Ocala

We reserved two suites side by side for a weekend stay. Like always, Marriott never disappoints me. The hotel grounds are beautifully kept. Even though it is pet friendly, the rooms and it's surroundings are super clean and odor free. The rooms are nicely and neatly decorated. I was disappointed though, that we did not get any maid service in our two nights stay, which meant that our beds were not made in those 2 days. I would like to think that it has nothing to do with the fact that our reservation was done with points.

Arrived after a long day of road trip. Nicely locate from I-75. Rooms are very clean and staffs are very helpful. The full kitchen is a plus and the room size is A plus. They also have during the week, activities in the hotel loft and the ambience is modern and relax. The hotel looks new. One thing i discover in this hotel, that i was able to do laundry by myself, so i came back home with laundry done. :) They have free-breakfasft but the organization was not as good as other Residence Inn. I will stay again in this hotel.

We stayed here overnight on our way hike from Key West - we did an Express Deal on Priceline and clerk told us we got the last room. Room was nice and large with a full kitchen, table and living room - perfect inn for families! Clerk was very nice and you get a full breakfast the next morning!

The room had a nice layout. We liked that the tv rotated from the living area and the bed. We enjoyed sometime in the pool and hot tub before going out to dinner. The kitchen was fully stocked with kitchen items. It's been a while since we've stayed at a Marriott hotel. We can't wait to stay here again.

In many ways this is just your average Marriott property in terms of style and design. Yes, it lacks an overhang for the main entrance but I know of very few Residence Inn's where that is a part of their design. You do have to take that into consideration when staying at just about any hotel in Florida 365 days per year. However, my car tire blew out right on the Northbound turnpike just South of this location. I was set to get to Valdosta that night but opted to stop 2 hours further South so as not to overload the spare tire and to find a place the next morning to get a new tire. The Residence Inn worked with the Courtyard I had planned to stay at in Valdosta (big props to them as well along with Marriott corporate) to move my points stay and reduce my pet fee with what had happened on my travels North. The front desk was very helpful in finding me a tire shop (in fact there is one across the street) and they had everything ready for me on a short notice reservation. The room was clean, the hotel was close to several nice restaurants and a mall. The breakfast in the morning is nice and they had just finished up a catered meal for guests the evening I arrived. For those of us coming and going to/from Florida, Ocala and this hotel provided a nice temporary home.

I had to return after just being here six weeks before and again it was excellent. I did ask for a room change and when I returned it had all been done with such ease. This hotel is set down and off the highway, so it is quiet and you can walk to a few eating establishments if you want. I love sitting outside the pool to read or just think. The staff cannot do enough for you and always greet you when you are in the reception area.

We have had two recent trips to Ocala and stayed at the Residence Inn for both. The rooms are attractive and well maintained, the breakfasts are typical RI fare, and the staff is very accommodating. Only one small complaint - being a surgeon, things that are not hygienic bother me. During the first stay I asked the front desk to explain to housekeeping that putting the garbage disposal cap on the kitchen towels (see photo) is poorly conceived since the disposal in a kitchen sink is a well documented breeding ground for bacteria. I was very surprised to see this habit continued during our second stay, so they lost a star in this review.

We stayed here 5 nights & felt familiar with the property, having stayed at other Residence Inn locations. Fairly good breakfast selection & great internet service. Cable tv's needed some tweaking, but was still spotty throughout the week. One major downgrade of this location, is their front entrance. They have no overhang to pull under at check in. We arrived in a typical FL downpour & were disappointed to unload in the rain.

We stayed in Ocala for an event a couple of weeks ago. We were pleasantly surprised at how fresh and updated the dacor was and the staff was incredibly warm and welcoming. It felt more like a big bed and breakfast the way they interacted with us at the front desk. The facilities were clean and our room was excellent, with a large living area separate from the bedroom and it had a gas fireplace! The mattress was firm, linens crisp and fresh, and the AC was cold as you wanted. Very impressive place, we would stay here again definitely.

I was a bit disappointed with this hotel. I stay in a lot of Marriotts, but this one needs to be updated. Also the food options for breakfast & the happy hours were quite limited. However, if you are in Ocala there are not that many better options.
