The rooms are newly updated and clean. It was nice to have the restaurant and Tiki bar right there with a small beach also. If you want to venture into Key Largo, you will need to drive, it's not really walkable. Bring your bug spray - the mosquitos ate us up after the sun went down!

Tiki bars were amazing, staff was awesome. Food was really good. Beautiful views.

I really recommend Gilbert Resort great place to stay to enjoy music, beach, food, and an awesome staff

Fun place. Love the bar and the music. Breakfast, not so good.

We were overall disappointed with our stay. The outdoor amenities were too small for the amount of guests at the hotel. The “beach area” was very small and was full of small children. There’s no way my teenagers could have swam. We waited forever at the restaurant for service and food. The food was so-so and not worth the price. Our room was comfortable for 5 of us, however the air conditioner hammered loudly all night and kept most of us awake. We could have turned it off but it was a warm and humid night. The room seemed clean but we found some yucky hair and strange stains on the couch. The highlight was seeing some dolphins playing in the water off the beach area.

It was good overall, pool was heated and with covid measures in play. Breakfast was disappointing with just one muffin and orange juice to be picked up in the front office, money was not a problem, it was the poor variety of food at breakfast. Staff was friendly and attentive

Every room had a front door then a back door that led to either a shared deck area over the water {where you could dock a boat}, or a balcony that over looked property & water in background. The staff was wonderful, knowledgeable and friendly. Also two large Tiki bars on property with live entertainment playing at happy hours. Loved it there.

Loved the clean room & fab views. Pool was nice but weird smell. Great areas near water. Food wasn’t good but staff was nice.

Everything is really good almost new , the only problem is in the parking smell bad

Rooms were refurbished, comfortable, a little on the smaller side, all views of the sea. Friendly staff. However, despite their social distancing rules, we did not see any evidence of these being enforced. Too many people at the restaurant and beach areas, no control at any of the entrances, which made us feel uncomfortable in going to these. The very tiny beach was supposedly only for guests but more than half were not wearing their resort bracelets and no one was overseeing entrance. Also the fumes from all the boats made the beach area and water quite unpleasant at times. In lieu of the included breakfast because of the current situation they offered a couple of muffins, which made little sense given their restaurants were filled to capacity it seemed. Beach also didn't open until 11am, despite signs saying 10am. No pre-warnings on any of these. We decided to book a room because of only allowing guests to the beach so we felt cheated there. Finally, multiple guest groups playing loud music up until 11pm (the hotel's cut-off time for loud music) right in front of all the rooms. We had a small child with us, so if they had warned about this we would not have stayed here. Under other circumstance we might have had a better time, but this was not worth anywhere near what we paid ($270/night).

The worst . Tv not working. Poor Customer service .. bar - restaurant closes at 8p-p reopen at 12pm. Tiny beach space!!

Gilbert’s Resort is the perfect hideaway. The Tiki bar has great food, drinks, and entertainment. We enjoyed swimming at the beach and pool. We rented a kayak and toured the mangroves and saw a manatee! It is definitely a party resort. We were there with two children. It was quite loud until 11PM when the quiet time starts. I didn’t mind. The kids slept through it and I went to bed after everyone stopped partying.

We love staying at Gilbert’s. It’s always a fun time. Highly recommend the rooms that are on the water with their own patios. Corrine checked us in and Is fantastic. This hotel is one stop fun. You can check in and watch bands all day, easily walk to your room and you can enjoy the water and beach.

Great price for the pkg Orbitz gave us. Tiny little beach front. Great tiki bar, food and drinks. Very quaint. If your looking for fancy this isn't the place. It's at the very beginning of the Keys so it's perfect to drive the whole strip to key west. Beautiful ocean views the whole way.
