Really want to take this opportunity to recognize Karen from Public Area (Housekeeping) - she helped me to locate my son in a restroom! She went above and beyond to help locate my child. Thank you Karen! Tony (Housekeeping) - Stopped what he was doing on the hotel floor to assist in retrieving towels for my family when our room had not been stocked with adequate towels. Julio from Maintenance - he is the welcome committee!! he can put a smile on any guest! What a great guy with a positive, contagious, and friendly attitude!
My stay at this hotel was formidable. Excellent customer service. Extremely comfy bed and pillows. The view to the ocean was spectacular!!!!
I asked for a room with oven view when I booked and the put me on the side of the hotel..... and I was not notified that it was a animal friendly hotel.... and I have allergies to animals... so I was very upset and just dealt with the situation
Hotel was ok. check in person needs some customer service training how to talk to customers. housekeeping is very nice and accommodating on my request. Room was ok. Bathroom needs attention in need of maintenance. Need to stay on top of fixing things in rooms. Hallways are hot no AC hotel saving money on that. Pools need to be cleaned more often. Food was very good. Happy hour burgers were great. Overall location is good on the beach away from the noise
It was a good hotel in overall. However, it would be nice if they do a deep cleaning of the bathrooms. The shower was full of pink and black spots. Other than that was good. Thank
We did a quick family get away to VA Beach and stayed at the Wyndham. It was generally a positive stay. Our room was clean (a few cobwebs in the corners near the AC unit but overall very nice), the room was an upper floor full ocean view so that was fabulous - we could also hear the bands play on the patio each night which was nice. I asked several times to have the sheets changed by leaving the card on the bed as indicated on the card - they were never changed. That was a disappointment. There was also no bathmat until the last night - with two kids and sand we needed that bath mat the whole time! It is odd that the hallways do not have air conditioning - at first I did not think it would be a big deal but after our key cards stopped working several times, the heat in the hallway became more of a factor for me. The key cards were super sensitive. We stay in hotels all the time and carry the cards near other credit cards in our wallet and/or cell phones and have not had to replace them as often as we did here. The pools were ... not great. The indoor pool did not feel clean. The outdoor pool seemed nice until there appeared to be frothy mess in the corner - I called about it and they said it was the filter. I'm not sure. Also - for those with little kids - there is NO stair entry into the outdoor pool. Just ladders which are difficult for children (I was traveling with a 2 and 5 year old) - an adult had to get in first and then lift the kids in - same thing on the way out. A stair entry would be a great addition to the pool space! Overall - it wasn't a bad hotel. The beach was not crowded at all and the view was great. I would stay again for a short stay but would probably not recommend it for a full week's stay.
The Wyndham in Virginia Beach was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!! WORST VACATION EVER!!! When we got to our room I immediately checked the sheets and there was hair and different particles everywhere. The smell in the bathroom was absolutely horrific. We proceeded to the front desk and they offered to change the sheets. I said absolutely not, we would like a new room. Once we got to the new room, I checked the sheets and there was blood on them. We called around to different locations in VA beach to stay and everything was booked so we ended up staying at the Wyndham. They changed the sheets but we still proceeded to Wal-Mart to purchase sheets, pillows, pillow cases, disinfectant wipes and spray. We have two small kids and this was unacceptable and disgusting.
Our family had such a wonderful experience at the Wyndham! I was so worried after reading some reviews.... I really can't understand what people were bothered by. I have stayed at 15 places in VA beach (we live nearby outside of D.C.). Most hotels on the beach have massive turn overs and with all the beach sand they do a number on the hotels. We were impressed at how they sucked all the beach sand from the pools every night! We got room service and ate/drank on the patio of the restaruant .. IT WAS WONDERFUL! We were worried about it being so far away from the boardwalk (I have a 19 year old), the bus back and forth to the boardwalk was great! We jumped on the bus to go to the boardwalk for dinner, skateing on the boardwalk etc. Can't wait to come again soon and do wale watching at the aquarium.
This was an older hotel but it is right on the beach and away from the throngs of beach goers at the other hotels, less crowded. The staff is friendly and always helpful. The restaurant has a great breakfast buffet, and the service is quick and the food very good.
Everything was horrible the worst stay of my life. The bathroom was flooded upon checking where I ran to use it and almost fell and called front desk sent us a maintenance and assured me it was fixed. I had to call in the morning again to let them know about the flooded bathroom they sent a maintenance and he went back got another person to help him fix. It was very annoying to come back to the room and they were still working on it that we couldn't be off our sandy had to wait for them to fix it. I was told a manager was going to come speak with me I went to front desk 3 times they said she will be there to see me. He/She NEVER came or bother to check on me. The room was dirty and the bed was old, the bed supporter was broken the moment you sit on it made noise, smelled so bad, the paints on the door were coming off, the carpet was very dirty, the bed bottom was ripped off under it and you can see it. I got there late by 11 and I asked where to eat the front desk agent he said "I am tired of the food around here" I asked him for food menu a pizza place he mentioned he looked at me as if I was serious it was so horrible. The moment we walked into the building it was scary it smelled so bad and the elevator was so old I thought we were going to get stuck in it. The room was muggy and stuffy we couldn't get the air to come on right. I did call booking.com customer service and I was told they talked to m front desk people but nothing was done about my unsatisfactory it was such a waste of time me calling them. Overall I have been to many hotels this was the worse ever. I regret staying there. I have many pictures and videos I can share. The only good thing that came out of this the restaurant (surf) and the chairs they had out there. The advertisement and the pictures that I saw/read on booking.com was not close to what they say. I paid an arm and leg for a room I can not even enjoy so so disappointed.
