Nice small hotel. Not luxurious but at the same time clean, nice bathroom w good shower and jetted tub. Good size room with a couple of chairs. They also offer complimentary walking tours. We took one of the local area and it was excellent.

If you are desperate for a hotel and this is all they have available, then definitely stay at the Washington Jefferson Hotel. The sink had hot water out of both spigots. It smelled like car fumes all day & night. The garbage was around the corner and you could smell it in the room. The rug was pretty dirty (bring slippers) and bathroom was a little tight especially if you are a little heavy. Everything (headboard, door, telephone, tv clicker, closet etc.) had a layer of filmy grease.

Hotel is on a quiet street with lots of options on the block for dinner and coffee. Easy walk to Broadway and Times Square and only a little longer walk to Central Park or Bryant Square Park. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was small and the window A/C did not seem to be cooling. Since it was November the A/C wasn't too big of an issue and if you have stayed in NYC before you know rooms are small. The linens were very nice and comfy. For the price and location this is a great place to stay. Will definitely come back!!

nice room but the hotel is very old the room are nice but the elevator super slow in my opinion for the price you can get better hotel from 1 to 10 I'll give 5

My friend and I stayed in a double twin bed room and it was perfect for our two night stay in Manhattan. Getting to the hotel was easy from the Lincoln Tunnel and having valet service was nice. The only downsides would be that a refridgerator wasn't included (we did request one, but it wasn't available) in addition to a lack of a bathroom fan. Firm mattresses were pleasant and being able to control the AC was clutch! When you're visiting the city, all you need is a clean room in a safe environment with a bed and shower and this hotel delivered. It was very close to a subway station and there were tons of restaurants and bars to venture to at night.

Nice cozy hotel, very good location, very clean but too cold.

The hotel is located in the perfect spot, the room was clean and not as small as other room hotels I've stayed before in NYC.

Really enjoyed the hotel. Nice queen-sized bed. Small room but clean and nice.

The hotel was ok clean. What would have been better if there was a small coffee maker inside the hotel room (had to go across the street). Other than that great location and was away from heavy foot traffic.

not as good as other hotel, beside the room was very tiny and no much space for the bags

Waited to check in for an half hour and they said check in was at 3:00.One elevator and it's slow and small. Rooms are small not much moving around space

Awesome location. Minutes from Times square. Seconds to subway. Very compact room and even more compact bathroom. But if you're like me, who spends little time in the room, I'd gladly stay here again for its superb location. Friendly staff. Bathroom sink wasn't draining properly. When notified, the reception staff told me they would have it rectified it immediately. Unfortunately, it wasn't much better after they had looked at it. While this marred the otherwise perfect experience, it didn't ruin it for me.

The rooms are super small, but it was till a nice setup and the cleanliness was great. I had an issue with the toilet not flushing and that was kind of lame. Some breakfast would've been nice...

This is a wonderful hotel. It is nice and quiet, since it's on 51st St rather than one of the avenues. My room was small, but perfectly adequate for one person. The staff is so friendly and helpful, and it was easy to get anywhere for the location. There are many trains within a block or two.

The people were great they remembered me the room was clean and comfortable.

Room was tiny. My room was serviced only once during my three night stay. Only one thermostat for the entire building, and my radiator was noisy and leaky. The bed was not comfortable at all and the pillows were lumpy. Not a good stay. The staff is nice and very helpful, however.

Had to travel to NY and brought my husband along since he had never been. The hotel and particularly the staff were wonderful. Leslie at the front desk even gave us his business card in case we got lost using the subway system. The room was small for two but cozy, outside was loud but only because we had the window cracked open (we like it cold when we sleep), and a coffee maker in the room or offered in the lobby would have been nice. There were plenty of places to get coffee within a block or so but it was between 10 and 20 degrees outside during our trip. A block is a long way to walk without coffee in that kind of weather. All in all a very nice hotel and I would recommend it.

If you are looking for a place nearby the subway and the center of Manhattan, this is the place. The beds are old and you can feel the springs in you back, too much noise during the night.

We spent 3 nights at this hotel. It's perfectly located just a few blocks from Central Park and Time Square. Rooms are pretty small but super comfortable and remodeled. Beds are great, flat screen with cable and bathrooms new. The building is quite old but the whole hotel seems to have been remodeled. I believe this is a great deal for the price you pay (the cheapest room in Manhattan when I booked the room). Staff is amazingly friendly and helpful.

We were going to see a show and booked this room ahead of time. It was so close to the theater. The hotel is on a tree lined street and there are three or four restaurants, that I could see, on the block. The front of the hotel and the lobby make a good impression. The building is old but they really made it modern. The staff was very considerate and accommodating. We were lucky because our train got in early and they let us check in early. Check in was a snap. I think there was an elevator but I couldn't find it. So we took the stairs which was probably easier. Our room was clean- and I'm a little OCD about cleanliness. . The decor was modern. The only negative thing I'd have to say is the bed was really uncomfortable. It was a big bed with really nice linen, but it was just a mattress on a platform? The platform kind of had a pizza stone feeling. It was hard and kind of porous texture. LOL. I don't know what it was, but definitely not a great sleep. Otherwise everything here was a good experience.
