Well, I'm back again! This is now my fifth stay at The Beekman Hotel in Manhattan and as always my expectations once again have been exceeded. It’s been three years now since my first stay at The Beekman. Each year I’m in The City for 15 nights in the Spring and another 15 nights in the Fall. I could, and have stayed at any hotel in The City of my choice, but The Beekman keeps calling me back home. Why? Well it’s really quite simple. The Beekman just gets better and better with each passing year. Management is keen on attending to detail and cultivating just the right business friendly staff, services, and amenities. Going back decades now, I’ve stayed at all of the top-tier hotels in The City from their launch. One thing I noticed was that after several years of stellar success there followed a pattern of decline, neglect, lack of proper maintenance, and a similar decline in the quality of the staff and culture as the years flew by. The Beekman appears to be the exception to this general pattern of “the latest new hotel on the block” to just another hotel that gets worn out over time and falls into disrepair and disgruntled staff. At The Beekman however the hotel just gets better and better every time I visit. I’m not sure how they are doing it, but the hotel today is just as glorious and spectacular as ever and it’s the pleasant exception, not the rule, to see the same familiar faces who have stayed with the hotel since it’s inception. This tells me that the staff is being treated with respect and that there truly is an ongoing culture at The Beekman that is normally near impossible to maintain as time goes by. Because the facilities and the staff are so well managed, the guest experience is always the same, or better! No surprises. No issues. No problems. Just a very warm and friendly staff to gently and professionally take care of your every need. I would like to thank each and every member of The Beekman staff personally, from the doormen to the front desk, to engineering, the concierges, to housekeeping, and all the restaurant and bar staff as well. Each and every encounter with every member of the staff at The Beekman is always friendly and professional. There’s no need for “attitude” at The Beekman because there exists a culture of respect. The culture at The Beekman trickles downs through each of the staff members and is thereby experienced by the guest. It’s all just second-nature to them now and I can’t say enough about them all. Outstanding. Feel free to read any of my prior Beekman reviews here on TripAdvisor which mention the many specifics of the great hotel location, easy access to just about any subway train within a block or two, exquisite rooms, and the quintessential ambiance of the hotel. There is no equal. Special thanks to Julia and to Scott for always going out of their way for me. It’s such a pleasure to see so many of, what now I consider, my friends each year at The Beekman. I look forward to my next stay.
My husband and I booked the Beekman to stay while in the city for our small wedding in April and it ended up being one of the best wedding decisions we made! Our plan was to get married in Central Park with our 18 guests, but the whole week leading up to our wedding day the forecast was calling for severe rain and thunderstorms and we did not have a backup plan! 2 days before our wedding, my husband called the Beekman to see if they had any options for us to hold our ceremony, and luckily they had two small event rooms available! The day before our wedding when we checked into the hotel, we toured the two available rooms and booked the Farnsworth room (literally 24 hours before our wedding!)- a beautiful dimly lit room with exposed brick. The staff were so helpful and accommodating in every way possible. They upgraded our room from the queen room to the junior suite which was absolutely beautiful and it was a lovely place to get ready on the day of the wedding. The event staff set up chairs for our wedding day, and provided champagne and cheese/crackers for our guests which was such a nice touch. From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out the Beekman helped make our wedding dreams come true and we will definitely be back!
I stayed at the Beekman for a long weekend in the city. From the doorman, to the check-in, to concierge and housekeeping staff the service was exceptional. You are acknowledged by name from your arrival at the front desk thru the entire visit. The property is beautiful and it has a great 2 story gym including Peleton Bikes that you can reserve. With 2 great restaurants and a wonderful bar it's hard a time (especially on a cold and rainy day) to motivate yourself to leave the property. The financial district has turned into a vibrant and hip part of the city the Beekman Hotel is a wonderful place to stay.
Arquitectural interiors that make you feel your on a film set, but at the same time very comfortable, a great bar and very professional and hospitable staff, make for an overall five star experience. If you are looking for a downtown hotel with class but sensible prices try The Beekman it won't disappoint.
Absolutely spectacular building, beautifully renovated. Wonderful rooms. Great staff. Very good food. Fun vibe without being over the top. All around great experience. Our new go to hotel in lower Manhattan.
I have stayed here a few times now, and the experience continues to get better and better. From the doormen upon arrival to the front desk staff at check-in, you feel more than welcome. The bell staff is marvelous, as are the concierge. I absolutely love the rooms, which are beautifully appointed and exceptionally comfortable. Food & Beverage options are superb, and you truly cannot find anything better in lower Manhattan. Can’t wait to come back!
I had a booking for a premium queen with terrace. I had specifically made a terrace room booking via Booking.com. At check-in, they told us that we had been "upgraded" us to a 1 bedroom suite on a lower floor. No additional information was provided. After conversations with 2 associates, I finally discovered that all the terrace rooms were fully booked. My issues are twofold: lack of transparency- why not tell me the truth instead of presenting the upgrade as something fortuitous? It was only when I pushed to see a terrace room that I was told the truth. I honestly would have been less upset if the staff had been honest upfront. Secondly why allow Booking.com to list reservations for specific room types if you have 0 intentions of fullfilling it? Also just a suggestion for the hotel: people book a room type for a reason- in my case clearly I wanted a high floor room with a view. When "upgrading" them it would be great if your alternative checked the boxes on atleast 1 of those reasons. While my room was bigger (which I didn't care about), it was on a lower floor with an awful view (which I DID care about). I fly to NYC with friends every year and am always looking out for new hotels. Rest assured I will not be staying in this one again.
Masterful restoration of an historic building with central atrium and ornate details. Very service oriented - room is straightened up late in day, maids know your name. Room large and well appointed. As I was off to the side, it was quiet. Bar is a very active scene. Location is lower Manhattan and is very good for subways.
We recently stayed at The Beekman to celebrate our daughters 21st. Due to the distances that we had to cover to get to NYC we did a lot of research and viewed many options and hotels. Put simply our stay exceeded our estimations by miles. We travel extensively but this once probably one of the most wonderful experiences we have had. We cannot fault any aspects of our stay. The hotel is superbly situated close to the subway, stores and restaurants. Due to the location we felt very safe and secure. The staff were exemplary, courteous, attentive and very knowledgable. Nothing was too much trouble. Augustine is a gem. Stephen the maitre d and GG will complete your dining experience. The restaurant was so good we spent every morning there. The bar and Temple Court by the way are also very, very good. All in all this is the place. Superb in all aspects decor, facilities, staff and dining. Thank you for making our stay so memorable see you in 2021.
Love the hotel interior design - gave me a feel that I’m living in the 1900 century. The room I’ve got is a king bedroom, with ample walking space in the room and the bathroom is big as well (as compare to other hotels around the area) also love the choices of tv channels available (spoil for choice!) to keep me occupy the whole evening. Room itself is lovely, however, as my room is facing the traffic there are times when u will hear car honking and ambulance/police sirens in the middle of the night. Breakfast is pretty normal and a little overpriced, but since it’s a 5 stars hotel I guess it’s not unusual for the price to be on the expensive side. Hotel location is great, with a subway station just within 5 minutes of walk and about 10mins walk to WTC. The hotel is also surrounded with eateries such as Wendy’s, shake shack and chick-fil-A. Another thing I love about the hotel is the warm welcome of the bell boys - they never fail to welcome me back to the hotel and morning greetings too which makes my day. One thing to note: the hotel security deposit is hefty- about $100 (I think?) per day of stay, so make sure u carry a card with enough value for the deduction if not it can be a hassle to some.
