I have been lucky enough to stay in some of the best hotels in the World thanks to an editor who insisted on cheap flights and top-rated hotels. And, I am delighted to say that The Beekman is up there at the top thanks to its architectural beauty, excellent facilities and most importantly its superb staff. My wife and I were visiting to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and we found nothing but kindness and the very best service. This started pre-trip with Aisha and the Concierge team helping plan the surprise celebrations on our anniversary day (they went spectacularly well!). Thank you to all of you for making that day and the week so special. From the moment we arrived we could single out every member of staff who went that extra mile for two bonkers Brits. The room was excellent, we stayed in a premium king and it was spacious and stylish. We loved the pictures on the wall, quirky and beautiful a theme that recurs throughout the hotel (we loved the luggage water feature in reception). We will return. As we walked around Central Park we sat on a bench opposite the Balto statue, one that had a plaque for a couple who had celebrated their 40th Anniversary, we vowed to return to match and visit again in 2039 to celebrate our 50th. But why wait that long!! We will be back sooner. There is only one choice now of where to stay in New York and that's The Beekman.
I stayed at The Beekman for three nights in late May, 2019. The hotel is very cool, with a distinctive old NY vibe. That said, both the rooms and public areas have been really nicely renovated and updated. All the usual modern conveniences are in place and work well. My room, while not large, was very comfortable and stylish. Even though it was small, it didn't feel cramped like some older NY properties do. The lobby bar and basement speakeasy-like bar are both really nice. The lobby bar is in bottom of the 10-story, glass-roofed atrium. Very inviting place to hang out. I'll definitely stay there again if I get the opportunity.
We had an amazing stay at The Beekman, beautiful hotel. Amazing staff, best bar in the city. The interioure is amazing. True pleasure coming back to the hotel after a day walking around town. Amazing food and drinks in the restaurants.
We were visiting NYC for a friends wedding and were looking to stay away from Times Square. After doing some research I found The Beekman Hotel! I highly recommend this hotel because the service, location, and restaurants are phenomenal! We will definitely be staying there for our next NYC trip! Thanks for your hospitality
The Beekman changed mi opinion about Staying in downtown, after decades in midtown. The hotel is a gem and not only about the building and a Master class about how to reconvert such historical building. I want to stop at the staff ; a company speaks throngs their crew and Melisa Perez, Victoria Qiao Ana Aisha are the core of the Hotel. They made my experience unique. Thanks & Thanks
Paid approximately $200 a night through BookIt, and I’d literally pay double that a night. I’m presently surprised. I read up on hotel prior to my arrival. Realized it just went through a major Reno after serving as an office building for a century. I’m totally impressed, and this establishment fits my needs and likes to a T. It’s eclectic, chic, and posh altogether. My only complaint is that the food and drink in restaurant and bar are kinda pricey. But I will pay lil extra for those things at such a nice hotel. I just hope the Beekman remains as nice as it is now for my next trip to nyc.
I travel extensively and usually try to stay in 5-Star luxury hotels. The Beekman was highly recommended and the reviews and press convinced me to try it! A mistake!! Let’s start with the arrival, no special welcome even though my reservation granted me certain VIP advantages, etc. The first room I was given was on a small internal courtyard (more like a verticale tunnel) with no natural day light nor telephone network signal! They kindly changed my room to an outer facing room (their one bedroom suite). The room was nice, but extremely dark, poorly lit. As I was preparing to leave for dinner, I searched all over for a shoehorn but there wasn’t one in the room! When I informed the concièrge I was surprised to find out that the hotel doesn’t have shoehorns at all, not even one in housekeeping! The episodes continue... I sent two cartons to the hotel in advance. No one at the hotel knew that they were at the hotel. Finally they were able to find them. When I needed my boxes to take to an event I was asked for a photo ID to recuperate the boxes - ridiculous especially as I was supposed to be registered as a VIP guest! And the list continues, but I will just concentrate on the important points! - while ordering a sandwich via room service I was not allowed to have fries and salad. It was one of the other, no compromise! - the hallways in the hotel were filled with dirty room service trays. Housekeeping just places the dirty trays on the floor waiting for them to be collected. It was like walking through a trash room with old rotting food! - ordering coffee in the morning takes 25 minutes! I was told that there is only one person delivering room service! - the laundry was delivered in a cardboard box with all of the delivery labels and the shirts were poorly folded and wrinkled! - each time I asked for a check I was presented with a check for outside guests! To sign to the room I needed to have another check printed - this is a hotel, isn’t it?! To be honest, you should think twice if you are looking for a 5-Star hotel with 5-Star service.
I surprised my wife with a trip to New york City for our 10th wedding anniversary. We were told we should try to stay at The Beekman. It definitely turned out to be great advice. We were lucky enough to be helped by Jason. He was a huge help with anything we needed. It was our first time to NYC and knew that their was so much to do. Every recommendation Jason gave us was spot on. The hotel itself was awesome. The rooms were amazing. Everyone there couldn't have been any nicer. We had drinks downstairs before heading out for the night. Staying at The Beekman definitely contributed to the amazing time we had that weekend and look forward to staying there again.
Staying in a hotel can be quite painful when you have spent chunks of your life living in them. On a recent trip to NYC I was slightly dreading the normal formulaic hotel and also worrying about keeping up with some regular exercise when my assistant recommended this place. On paper it sounded great ... stylish, smaller so a bit more personal, and also a gym with some decent equipment. The reality definitely lived up to expectations. The hotel is truly beautiful ... classic old but what I loved is that it isn’t particularly masculine like a lot of older hotels. Credit to the design team! The room was well done .. not massive but comfortable . Bathroom was lovely! I had some room service one night (a salad) which came with the normal overpriced room service charge but it was good. More that just a few leaves thrown together ... tasty even. The gym was also great. About 4 cross trainers, 6 tred mills, 2 peletons and some weights etc. Yoga mats available as well as Swiss balls. Everything you could want. I went at least once a day and never saw it particularly busy although before 6 it was just me! The peleton bikes were great. Although I have been spinning before I have never tried one of these and I really liked them, so much so I am thinking of buying one for home now. One of the bikes had peleton clips on it (the three delta one) and one just had peddles you can use with trainers! Just create a log in and off you go ....
From the moment I arrived I was greeting my Friendly doormen and a terrific front desk staff. Everyone was willing to help and get you on your way. Was at hotel for work and tried to squeeze in some good’ol nyc fun (Maybe too much fun one of the nights). My room was so clean each day (only piece of feedback- if a guest sleeps on the left side of bed the staff should leave the water and remote on the left) The food in the meeting space needs major work. Might be the worst I’ve had. Like the location of the hotel easy walk to river, downtown, wall st etc. I’ll be back to nyc soon and will certainly stay here
