Junk...place totally sucks...be aware pictures are deceiving. it a hole in the wall. shared bath rooms no elevator dark as heck..staff seems sketchy. recommend you go to another place that is more suitable. its a nice area. but this place is pathetic. waste of money.
airbnb-ing at a hotel in manhatten After I have checked in around 22.00 p.m. the person in charge of the night shift gave me a key to the higher floor.It was 67 I believe. Since I had no one with me at that moment, I asked the man at the reception if he could help me with a luggage. Instead he gave me a key to the groud floor, room number 07 I believe. I have expected to have the same as it was promised via booking " clean,spatious and with modern facilities". Instead I was greeted with a 50's touch, furniture which feels borrowed not bought and the strange smell that you know from old, not renovated buildings. The furniture was half destroyed (even the cat that belongs to the so-called hotel knew where the best place for sharpening his claws is). The bathroom was not up-to date with furniture and hygiene, especially the shower curtain looked used. Also in the kitchen, if you would look behind the fridge you could spot 50 year old dust and filth, all this that makes me believe that I have rented someone elses personal room via airbnb not actually stayed in hotel room which looked modern and clean in the pictures.The ground floor view was sealed by a double curtain an blocked by a retro AC which made a lot of noise when I have entered the room. Again with all the crackes and holes in the walls it looks more like a motel on the highway street than a hotel in manhatten. If you are travelling especially with a small child visiting family or friends, I don't recommend this place for the lack of hygiene in the first place and secondly because the staff doesn't help anyone with luggages. If you are here for NYFW as I went don't go because you may sleep worring about germs and other things that you could think of when having to spend a night in a old, not renovated and cleaned up space.
I booked the hotel based on the online images and new there wouldn't be an elevator and that we had to share bathrooms. I wasn't prepared to enter a scene of a 1970's movie or TV series, with a small reception off the entrance, dark staircases and hallways with lots of doors where you could hear the TV sets blaring and people shouting, laughing and sometimes more intimate sounds. The room we got was small, the bed taking up one complete side near a window with an aircon unit set with aluminium tape. A small kitchenette with 2 mismatched glasses and one plate. The shared bathrooms were very small, you could hardly sit in the toilet, and not clean. At night we heard people in the other rooms moving furniture or doing reconstruction and the aircon was loud. Not a place I woud advise to friends, unless they wanted to have an experience like they were back in the 70's.
It is the second time i’m trying to comment and post about this hotel. Nevertheless TripAdvisor is not publishing it despite it is factual and aligned with others 115 travelers. Here is again. I should have read TripAdvisor before booking my 4 nights for 300€ as each beds and curtains broken, one bed to be done by yourself with no place to open it completely as room is too small! What in case of fire? No idea as bed was against the door. You need to choose between sleeping and security. For additional reasons below we had to cancel the rest of our 2 last nights and booked something else ( be advised that 75 $fees for this) : 1) This was really dirty and electric network is out of regulations ( see others travelers comments ). In case of emergency or fire 2) Drunk people were shooting in the corridor at 3.30 am with no reaction from the front desk was not convenient at all for us. 3) Canabis smelling was strongly present into the whole hotel. 4) hotel is well located at Chelsea area close to subway. Nevertheless night room price was exaggerated for the quality and service received. 5) complimentary breakfast is not called breakfast. We do not recommend this hotel at all for a family. Young adults maybe but not sure they will get the appropriate budget for this as it was the most expensive for the whole of our travel compared to any hotel we booked for the rest of the 2 weeks vacation even NYC. As said above we cancelled and booked for 2 rooms with view in Hudson River located on the last floor ( view exceptional) for less money....
Very near to Metro station, in the middle of every thing, both bus and the underground could take you to any where, rooms are cleaned every day, room facilities and size let you enjoy the stay,good breakfast , the main problem was there is no left to go to the upper floors.
I would like to express my insatisfaction with this hotel. I have booked a room through booking.com and despite saying there I didn't have to pay to make a reservation, after putting my credit card details, I was charged for a reservation fee straightaway. I have booked and stayed at a number of hotel before but that was the first time I come across a shady deal. I had to call to the hotel twice just to figure out that they are not honest. Now, they told me that I have to wait for up to 21 days to receive a refund of something that they initially mentioned I didn't even have to pay, to begin with. I don't mind paying for reservation fee. I have booked hotels before that fees were non-refundable. However, what I didn't like about this deal is the fact that they say that they don't charge for reservation but, in fact, they do. Be aware!
I stayed there two weeks with my daughter. The staff is nice, and helpful. Our room was cleaned well daily. The breakfast was continental and good. Just steps to the metro. We enjoyed our 1/2 month stay there!
It was a good accommodation, good breakfast and it was near to the metro station, so you can move easily and enjoy your trip in Manhattan. The breakfast was normal, brad, milk, tea, cerals. The room had kitchen and the space was ok .
How do I start. First of all it's nothing like on the pictures... the guy who checked us in didn't even bother speaking to us just kept pointing at things, breakfast is included yes you have bread butter and jam included with a few bagels if you're there early enough, not a continental by european standard for sure so quiet disappointed with that. Room old dirty and falling apart. Towels and bedding had stains from god knows what and when... we were four people staying there and all of us were in pure disgust with the place during our whole holiday. Such a shame really....First stop in our us trip and such a bad experience! Would definitely not recommend for more than one night and definitely don't bring your children here. The only good thing about the place its the location, you got a subway entrance right off the hotel and you're two blocks away from times square.
The hotel is in an awful condition, it's not maintained and looks dirty. What you see in the photos it's NOT what you get! The stuff is not very friendly, and they also don't seem to care if you have complaints. It also doesn't feel safe. I didn't even want to use the shared bathroom since it was dirty. I had really terrible time and wish I could forget I've ever been there, even for a couple of nights, it ruined my stay in NYC. The only positive things I could mention is the location, heating and free wifi, the rest is below any decent level. ,
