Dream Midtown

4.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Hotel staff not focused on guest experience. Conditions may not be controllable, but people with careers in hospitality should be able to provide at least an acceptable level of service. If they are interested in repeat business and just wanting to make someone's vacation/stay more pleasant, it should be more obvious than it was at this hotel. The hotel is in a prime location and the staff did not reflect my expectations of a vacation to NYC. It is easy to tell when people working with the public really care or if they are just there because it is a job. It is all about how you make guests feel. Please share this with management and the associates, so other guests aren't as disappointed with what could have been a magical experience in NYC for this NC girl and her mother and daughter. There is so much potential there at Dream Midtown. I don't know if I would recommend staying on your properties to my clients that travel and vacation to NYC. Please give me a reason to.

One of the most comfortable beds ever. Would have given 5 stars save for the fact one of the three elevators was down our last day. They have only three, one of which is really more like a phone booth and unfortunately that was not the one that was not working. Great location near Times Square, Columbus Circle and the park. Beware, if you are looking for quiet weekend evenings, beware that the rooftop terrace bar can be really loud and very crowded with the party set. Also, you compete with bar patrons for elevator access. Still recommend based on friendly staff, location and heavenly beds.

perfect location, friendly staff, VERY CLEAN... Best hand soap!

Yup. The rooms are tiny. But the location is great: in the middle of everything. And the service, staff and cleanliness is top notch. I was tempted to give a bad review for no other reason than I wanted to kee this place to myself for future trips to NYC, but honesty compels me to recommend this to anyone. Fluffy Bagels is right around the corner and so is the subway. You can get anywhere.

Location, location! Midtown Manhattan. Close to everything, Time Square, Theatre District, Central Park, Radio City, and Rockefeller Square. The hotel staff was so helpful and friendly, rooms were clean. All our questions were answered, and they printed out our e-tickets for our return flight. Love the restaurant, Serefina, we ate there several times, the Lemon Pancakes was my favorite.

decent place...nothing special, but gets the job done

This hotel was a great place to stay. Close to everything, but away from the noise of the city. Chic but not pretentious. Entire staff was pleasant, helpful, and genuine. Free wifi. If you are looking for a little something different than the major chains, this is your place!

This was a reasonable hotel with a good location for business, theater, and central park. The rooms were tight and the bed was comfy. The amenities were nothing special. And the hallways were drab, under-cared-for, and seemed a little depressing and dirty. The staff was very nice. The restaurant is only okay despite its longstanding reputation in NYC. Don't bother eating there. Room service was so dull that I barely ate it and the restaurant was hardly better.

it would have been a perfect place except for the constant (everynight) loud noise from the garbage collectors at the hotel across the street who decided to work at night until the morning hours... and not at daytime when everybody is awake. you should come up with a 'protest sign-up' at the lobby from your customers to City Hall, that is , if they really care about the guests of the city.

Dream Hotel was very clean, safe and centrally located next to subway stops and walking distance to a lot of NYC attractions. We will definitely stay there again on our next trip to NYC.

Call ahead to see if the hotel is still under construction. If they are don't bother with this hotel. Your stay will be miserable if you have to constantly wait on construction. Example, waiting for elevators....couple times I found myself waiting plus 10 min. Only for the elevator to open and be packed with workers!! Waiting for our ride (back to the airport) they had our road blocked off to load what looked to be cement from a truck. Needless to say it caused my car to be 15 min late. This is all very sad because the Hotel Room and Staff were fantastic! Also, make sure the Rooftop bar is open. It was not the whole time I stayed.

The Dream Hotel is in a great location right by times square ( walking distance). It is on 55th street We were able to walk to our Broadway show and to most places we needed with ease. We even took a really long walk to The Village It is also a few blocks from Central Park. The room was very very clean but small. The bed was also small Was supposed to be a Queen but was more like a full, Still it was comfortable. The staff was helpful. There are many places for breakfast nearby but you can have food delivered as well. Overall excellent experience and would stay there again. Oh one more thing Best airport probably La Guardia. Should cost 40 dollars by cab. Don't recommend Huber because they tried to charge us 80 dollars from airport to Hotel. Take a yellow cab to hotel. Also Alamo car rental is walkable to and from hotel and can drop off car any time Is on 44th street.

I stayed there for one night and enjoyed all the Times Square attractions as it was not far from the hotel, this hotel actually sits right on Broadway right near M&M World. Really great staff, very professional. Card access for stairs, elevators, made me feel secure. Dead Sea Mineral lotions, soaps, and a full bar inside your room(for an extra cost). Even comes with an intimacy kit for those fun times lol Great price as well for the night. Overall awesome hotel.

Location wad not ideal given the heavy traffic in Midtown and all the tourists during the summertime. But all in all great value.

The Front Desk Staff were extremely welcoming. They took the extra effort to reserve a room near mine for my friends who were arriving the next morning. The hotel is in walking distance to most main attractions or the cab ride is not super expensive. The hotel bar is cute (could stay open just a little longer and maybe offer a few bar snacks). Overall I would definitely stay at the Dream another time. The décor is modern and boutiquish. Nice robes and good toiletry selection. Love the fish tank and the seating in the lobby. Good Choice!!!

The hotels structure gave it a great atmosphere and vibe, and mixed with the modern decor and amenities, the setting was perfect!

It was amazing. We got upgraded from queen size bed to king size for free. The people were nice, and it was so close to Times Square

Dream Midtown is a terrific choice for any traveler, who wants easy access to anything and everything in NYC. The location is superb and the staff is outstanding. Rooms are simple, but clean and accommodating, and include all the amenities necessary for a great weekend trip.

The construction in the front of the building is an eye sore. The roof top bar is also closed, which is one of the reasons that I enjoy the Dream Hotel. There is no restroom in the lobby, so you have to use the restaurant next door. The staff was friendly. However, they seem to stand around. There were three people waiting by the front door, and we opened it for ourselves. The lobby has a trendy feel. There is an aquarium right when you enter the hotel. The room was small but very clean and comfortable. The staff called to ensure we had everything we needed. It is great for a quick night in the city. Overall, I had a good experience and believe that once the construction is completed this will be a nice place to stay.
