The only thing I liked was it was close to Javits center. But I asked for early check in and after the desk attendant ran upstairs to make sure it was ready they sent me up to a disgusting room with wet towels everywhere. So I came back 3 hours later and room still wasn’t ready. When I did get a room Had to literally jump over piles of dirty laundry to get to my room door and there are only 4 rooms per floor. Bathroom in my clean room had wet floor, some black stuff in the toilet and hair in the tub. Tiles were falling off the shower walls. Duct tape over holes in the wall painted to match the wall color. Windows weren’t sealed and cold air blew in all night even with heater on. Lukewarm coffee in the lobby which was piled to the ceiling with paperwork and machinery and bag. Totally not what was advertised

False advertisement. Rooms were beyond small and really disappointing. Staff was friendly but there was no continental breakfast which was false advertisement.

beds are very uncomfortable! bathroom was wet all over the floor.

Hotel wasn’t as the picture, walls were dirty, bed was stiff, different name on the outside

the staff were great and so helpful. We were only there for a quick stay but will be back for sure. Wished the room were slightly bigger but they its NY and by NY standards they were perfect

Location is close to the Port Athority where the city transportation hub is. It is also close to Hell’s Kitchen eateries. Time square and the Empire State Building is a short walk away. As for the hotel, we were disappointed. The hotel lost water on our last day and we were not able to shower. No compensation or solution was offered. Hotel staff were nice but not helpful with recommendations. One of the front desk people did not know how to get around town but tried to google map it. We decided to rely on our own directions. He wouldn’t gotten us lost if we followed his. The hotel is small, old and dirty. Their elevator had signs posted warning of potential malfunctions if not used properly. The hotel is ok for the location. For or the price compared to better slightly more expensive hotels in better locations, book those instead.

Do not stay here. While I can't be 100% certain, the card I left on file for incidental charges was later used for $2100 of fraudulent charges in Manhattan. Fortunately, the bank caught it. This hotel was one of two places the card was used before the bad charge - fairly certain the other place was not the culprit. Beyond that, while the location was convenient, but the hotel is run down. The lobby desk is a mess, not a great first impression.

This is a perfect spot off the beaten path.... but well within everything

Mold in room. Bed horrible. Sink coming apart. Staff sleeping on job. No extra pillows. Dirty room. Air conditioner too loud to sleep.

The room was small but we only use it to sleep so it wasn't so bad the location was great I would stay here again

My husband and I stayed here on 4/11/16 because we came to town for the David Gilmour show at MSG. The location on the hotel was just a 15min walk to MSG which was very convenient. There is no off street parking, but they paired up with the valet parking area across the street. You do get a discount with them since you are staying at the hotel. Even though I thought $37 was a bit pricey for less than a 24hour stay, but that's something to expect from this city. The staff here was very accomodating in that we came into the city around 11:30am and they were able to get us into our room within 10mins of our arrival. They were very friendly and helpful in helping us gather our bearings in the city. The room itself was small as other reviews have stated, but modern in appearance. It was just enough if you're not having to stay long. The bed as fairly comfortable. The room and the bathroom were clean. The only thing that I didn't like was that our room was right next to the lobby so it was considerably noisy. I am also used to having a room with a decent view and all we got was the back side of a dirty building. But we weren't here to spend our day looking out the windows. All in all it was a nice place to stay and I would do so again.

The hotel was small, but very clean and nice. We walked back from Times Square at night with my daughters and wife and it was a little scary. There were several folks sleeping on the street and someone was yelling at my daughter and me for wearing flip flops while walking (obviously he unfortunately needed help that he wasn't receiving). The staff are wonderful there, they took the time to give us advice on where to go and took the time to make sure we understood his directions. VERY GOOD HOTEL, SMALL, BUT GREAT STAFF AND CLEAN ROOMS.

Thank you for your review. We want to apologize about the loss of water, as the city was completing construction in our area. On a brighter note, the hotel has recently undergone a change of ownership. Expect to see amazing changes here at the 36 Hudson Hotel!
