Sandcastle Oceanfront Resort at the Pavilion

Recent guest reviews

Had an oceanfront view with a balcony. We slept with the sliding door open to hear the waves. Room was clean enough. Comfortable beds. We cooked all our meals in the room. Jacuzzi and indoor pool were great. Staff was very helpful. Only complaints were the TV was a little fuzzy and the microwave didn't work but we really didn't need it. Everything is close by. For the price we would definitely stay here again.

Terrible smell in hallways! The beds looked dirty, the kitchen was out dated (awful kitchen), the only thing that made it acceptable was the ocean view.

The hotel is on the beach, with awesome views of the ocean. The pool and lazy river were fun and clean. We especially were drawn to the tiki bar, which wasn't open. The room was outdated and it showed. We enjoyed Myrtle Beach, but if we go back it will not be at this location.

minimal maid service; leaky roof, rowdy clientel;employees lie about improoving conditions

Wifi sick and 2 bed looked like the sheets were slept in not.changed other then that everything else was great.!

Excellent, really nice overall. Would definitely stay their again.

Hotel was DIRTY. So disgusting I didn't want my kids to touch anything! What made us leave after day one? The INTENSE smell. This smell had a similar scent as a ripe dumpster. After we told them at the front desk we were leaving early because our stay was awful.... Did they ask why... No. Her first response, "your not getting your money back." Guess the fact that this place is so gross, makes them give you a paper to sign when you first check in that states you agree to no refunds. You really don't appreciate the gravity of some of these reviews, until you see it for yourself. TRUST me the ocean convenience is NOT worth it. Don't ruin your vacation like we did.

The view was awesome, we had peace and quiet in our rooms and the shower felt great. Overall it was a nice place to stay.

Parking is terrible. Have to park 1-2 miles away. The hotel smell is of gym room and a rank diaper. We walked in the room which has had no updates since the 80's. Pulled cover back and a roach emerges from under the cover of the bed. We ran out of that hotel and stayed some where else. No one tried to rectify the situation and no refund policy. The worse hotel I ever stayed in, not worth it. Cannot believe this establishment is still standing. You are better off sleeping on a corner of a street!!

I reserved a room at this Hotel after reviewing several, due to the Special Winter Pricing for four nights. My wife and I usually stop in Myrtle Beach for a few days in our way to Florida. We moved into the room and found our ocean side view was very minimal. The TV remote did not work for the old outdated TV. The bathroom lights were flickering and the lighting was terrible. We inquired and were transferred to a room across the hall with a little better view of the ocean. We had a faint WIFI signal for a few hours and then lost it for the remaining stay. The desk representative said they were working on it, but did not know what was wrong. The lobby in our tower was dirty. On a positive note the elevator was fast.

Overall, it was a great value, the view, location and amenities were all they claimed to be. The staff was great and we felt they welcomed us. We would go back in a heartbeat.

1 night stay with free 1 dvd and indoor/outdoor pools. Needs renovation but considering location and some promotion, it was good.

the location was pretty good, the Internet was worthless many things need some WD40 but it's an old building has a pool, wading pool and lazy river right on the beach it wasn't great, it wasn't bad.

I enjoyed my stay at Sandcastle. Good price but not a lot of frills.

Nothing specifically outstanding at the hotel. Parking was not very efficient, being a small lot across the street and a parking garage about 1 1/2 blocks away. Garage was not ADA compliant.

Requested a non-smoking room, it was OK, but the hallways reek of smoke and so did the elevator. Towels were so thin and harsh it was difficult to dry off after shower. There is nothing extra except an indoor swimming pool. No coffee, not even a continental breakfast. The check in staff was not very helpful. I had requested two queen size beds and got two double beds.

The room was reasonable clean and the staff was friendly. The exterior appearance of the hotel was poor. There were dark stains on the patio floor facing the outside that could easily be seen from the pool area. The hotel looked like it required maintenance. The one elevator made loud noises and sounded like it could use some repairs. My general feeling of the property was that it looked like the owner was milking it for money until they could either replace the buildings or perform a major repair. The hotel had luggage carts, but if you wanted to leave in the morning, you most likely could not get a cart since other guests would keep them in their rooms for long periods of time. The hotel did not enforce the loading and unloading parking rules nor the usage of carts.

Everything was great but for the bathroom Needs repairs. Everything else was great

Nasty hotel, evevator wasn't working, rude staff, horrible parking. Close to places but will never stay again.
