Great place - bike week a little noisy

The property was excellent. Very clean, and the whole facility was very well run. Easy beach access, and Oceanpark spotlights the section of the beach near them, so you can sit out at night as well. The only slight downside was that we stayed at the beginning of Memorial Day weekend, which is Bike Week in Myrtle Beach. So one lane of Ocean Blvd, which Oceanpark is on, was closed for emergency vehicle traffic, and this added a few blocks and a few minutes to traveling anywhere. Also, midnight to 3-4AM there was loud bike traffic nearby, which interrupted our sleep Friday night. Other than that, great place.

Everything was clean and well maintained, air conditioning worked great, easy access to beach. Wish they had some food or toiletries for sale. There’s nothing. You must bring what you need. Also wish they wouldn’t close the pool at 10:50pm. People are on vacation and staying open till midnight would’ve been better. But it was great for a small family with a dog!

Clean and Comfortable

I received a message stating that the property was ready and I could check in early. Entering, it smelled clean and everything was neatly arranged. I enjoyed my time here so much that I extended an extra night. Would definitely consider staying here again.

We arrived to the property excited, check in was easy. When we got to our room our door was open so that was unsettling. The smell you are met with when you walk in this room is gross. We finally realized it was coming from the ac unit which is as soon as you walk in the unit in the bedroom. It smells bad to the point we bought sprays to try and mask the smell, nothing worked. The paint on the ceiling in the bedroom is peeling and In the living room the couch definitely needs to be replaced, It’s very stained. There’s a bad patch job in the wall where it looks like a huge object was thrown through the wall. I assume these issues are from younger renters who likely didn’t respect the property. On the plus side the water temperature in the shower and water pressure was 5 star worthy. We would love to know what shower head is in the shower. Overall the pictures of this room were misleading. I feel as if we had stayed in a different room, that had a different couch and no smell coming from the ac unit, we would have had a better stay and left a better review as this is a good family hotel.

The good, the bad, the ugly of 818

We enjoyed our weekend stay, and would maybe stay here again if it fit our needs at that time. The good: The view is amazing and perfect! Everything (except the floors) was VERY clean and you could even smell that things were disinfected. (Some might not like that, but it was reassuring during the pandemic times.) The beds were comfy. Full kitchen with stove and fridge was very helpful. The outdoor hot tub is large enough to still socially distance. The brand new couch and pull out bed was comfortable and not sagging like older ones. The price for a full weekend in the off-season was just right for my budget. The AC in the bedroom gets really cold -just how I like it! The bad: The kitchen sink faucet needs to be fixed; it’s very loose and moved around while using it. We killed at least 5 baby roaches in the bathroom and 4 by the balcony door. Yuck! The floor hasn’t been scrubbed/mopped, and it’s very evident. The AC in the living room doesn’t get as cold as I’d like it to be. Not quite enough seating for eating at the table. !!!No dog potty area with real grass. For a place that is so dog friendly, you’d like they’d provide an area for the dogs. Instead there are signs saying “No dogs beyond this point.” The ugly: The place is dated and could use a fresh coat of paint. If you’re looking for beautiful, fancy, and sophisticated, this isn’t it. The artwork isn’t great and just looks like randomly thrown up on the wall. The ceiling has paint peeling and is oddly stained.

Room overlooking the ocean.

Property was awesome. Room was adequate, nothing special and needed some repairs and detail cleaning (windows, floors, couch). Reply to our inquiry concerning our dogs weight was never answered. The answer we did get was to someone named Gary and had nothing to do with our question. Thank goodness we didn't bring our dog and decided to kennel him because he was slightly over the weight limit, would not have been acceptable and we would have wasted a long trip.
