Nice hotel but we wouldn't choose to stay here again because of mismanagement. The employees all seemed miserable and the breakfast was wonderful and has a great breakfast girl but she was working her butt off by herself and the place was packed. Her fruit salad and breakfast was great. Also the landscaping needs some maintenance.
Very happy with the place. This hotel was perfect. Clean, wonderful front desk attendants. I would stay here again. It was perfect for our visit to West Virginia University. Thank you for a great stay.
Have stayed here multiple times while a family member was in hospital. It is within walking distance of Ruby Memorial - very convenient. Hotel is very clean, very nice, and modern decor. Breakfast is great with many choices of food - bacon, eggs, bagels, juices and many more. Though we were too exhausted to take part, the outdoor grilling and fire pit looked very nice and relaxing. It is also within walking distance of the WVU football stadium. Very nice location.
The Residence Inn by Ruby Hospital is my favorite place to stay when I have to go to Morgantown. They offer suites with a full kitchen plus a managers snack bar some week day evenings. They know me when I come in and I have never had a problem there. Rooms are clean and staff is great.
We stayed here to visit WVU and we loved it. I booked a room for 5, and we brought the dog for an additional $100 to stay with us. The front hotel staff was so welcoming upon our arrival and stay. The breakfast area was immaculate, and lots of choices for free breakfast. I felt bad for the staff on Saturday morning when there was a member missing. The staff was hustling in the breakfast and coffee area. There were many people there. The pool was loved by my little one. The gym was a nice size for the small hotel. This hotel is easy access to downtown or the town shopping center. It is the best of both worlds.
This hotel is a rare find. We just stayed two nights and everything from check-in to check-out went smoothly. Room was immaculate. Staff was more than accommodating. Special call out to the lady who checked us in on Friday afternoon and checked us out this morning. I wish I got her name. She was probably early 20s and had long brown hair. So super friendly. What a great asset to your brand. Btw- Breakfast both mornings was scrumptious and the staff who prepared it should also get props. They were definitely on their game! Keep up the good work, we will definitely be back!
My son and I did a one night stay here as my son had an audition at WVU. This hotel would be a nice place to stay for several nights. The breakfast was pretty good and included, the staff was courteous and the atmosphere of the hotel was relaxing. The room was clean with the exception of several hairs in the shower from the previous guest. The location is great for visiting WVU. You can see the football stadium from the window as well as the hospital. There were a few good choices of places to eat nearby. I will give one warning about the area. It snowed about 4-5 inches the night we arrived and the next morning around 10:30 the roads were not clear. We got on the interstate around 1pm and it was salted but snow covered in most spots. They don’t do a great job of clearing the roads as they do in MD where I live. I would recommend this hotel if you are visiting the area.
My husband and I stopped here overnight in the middle of a marathon cartrip. We chose Residence Inn on their reputation with the desire for “known quality”...we thought. I fell asleep rapidly and awoke at 3am with a terrible backache due to a sagging in the middle of a kingsize mattress. I realized that as we slept the mattress became bowed in the middle so I called the front desk. I was forced to get more blankets and slept on the couch. In the morning the management revealed that this happened to more than one traveler before and that they usually inserted a board under the mattress with a complaint. So, the manager at Residence Inn was aware of the problem, and continued to put travelers in subpar, non-supportive beds. The compensation for a disrupted and painful night’s sleep was points on our “Rewards Card”. I will NOT be staying in a Residence Inn again, so Rewards points do not provide me with any feeling that Residence Inn considered this a serious matter. After having very little sleep, one has very few positive remarks or reviews to give a hotel.
Stayed here at the last minute because the roads were to bad to head home. The walk in rate was $109, which was what matched on Priceline. Anyway, the hotel was very clean. The room had a full kitchen and comfortable seating area. Breakfast in the morning was okay. I cannot complain (too much) because it was not an additional fee, but many of the basic items, such as forks, orange juice were not available and overall just not too great. The hotel was not either too busy or too empty, so I wouldn't have expected kind of a disorganization to there breakfast. Otherwise, the hotel is in a great location, clean and pleasant.
The moment I stepped into the lobby I was greeted with a warm smile and friendly voice. I was made aware of the complimentary breakfast and the hours it would be served, the social gatherings scheduled throughout the week and encouraged to contact the front desk at any time if I was in need of anything. My stay has been a lengthy one - 9 weeks and I must say that I would highly recommend the Residence Inn. It is close in proximity to Ruby Memorial Hospital (walking distance) as well as restaurants and shopping centers. The rooms are large, clean and up to date. The staff (housekeeping, kitchen staff, front desk and management) treat me as though I was a family member. If you find yourself in Morgantown for an overnight stay or an extended stay, I am certain you will be pleased with the amenities offered at the Residence Inn as well as the wonderful, accommodating staff.
