I love this hotel. My son makes regular trips to Ruby Memorial for health concerns. Residence Inn is within walking distance, the staff are amazing, the rooms are ideal for short or extended stays, and the free breakfast is top notch.

Room was very comfortable and clean. Handheld Shower head was worthless very little water and no pressure. Room could do with a few more hooks to hang clothes and towels.

A tired Marriott that needs refreshing. Nothing stood out as being especially nice. It felt dated. The kitchen was poorly stocked, with very little to cook with and a badly stained frying pan. There is a full-size fridge and stovetop but no oven, so cooking is limited. There was no dishtowel or scrubber but there were two potholders, but no oven. There was no bedding for the hide-a-bed, and it was a horrible mattress---very thin, every coil visible and palpable. The curved shower rod was hung so the curve hung down, which made it impossible to close the shower curtain, as it slid right down to the middle and left both sides exposed. Toiletries were very basic. Only 3 bath towels provided for 3 people. Nothing was terrible, but it didn't meet my expectation of a Marriott Residence, which I've stayed at before. No pool or hot tub either. An unremarkable facility.

If visiting Ruby Memorial, WVU Children's Hospital, or Milan Puskar Stadium, Residence Inn is the place to stay. It is walking distance to all three. Rooms are larger and include full kitchens. The beds are comfortable and the free breakfast is desirable. The only negative I experienced on this most recent trip... there were no glass cups in the cabinet of the kitchen. For whatever reason, there were plates and silverware, but not cups. I used a measuring cup to drink from. Could I have requested a cup from the front desk... sure. I just dealt with it. I assume previous guests broke or stole the cups that were there.

Overall, the customer service was great everyone was friendly and helpful. However, housekeeping could definitely be better. There was a strange smell we couldn’t figure out at first, and it turned out the trash under the kitchen sink hadn’t been emptied from a previous stay. Also, the breakfast area could’ve been cleaner, there was food on the floor and on the counter.
