Great water pressure and very hot water, the whole motel area was dirty tho. I'd come back but only cause of it being cheap
Discovery Inn oversold the rooms. They did not have a room for us despite having a reservation. They offered a room at a different motel.
Property seemed a bit sketchy, people randomly just hanging out in stairwells. Looked like people staying here are potentially transients. Room was fine for what it was. Tv remote was dirty, sheet had a hole in it from what appeared to be a cigarette burn.
I picked this property because it was close to parking for the Big Cottonwood race that I ran this morning. Maybe other reviews are pretty critical, but I wanted a clean, quiet place to sleep, and that was taken of in a great way! The staff was very courteous, and offered water to me. The room was clean and quiet, and I liked the amenities as well. Looking forward to booking this place again the next time I run the Big Cottonwood race!
Very uncomfortable place
It was absolutely disgusting. I only stayed in the room for about 30 minutes and then left to sleep on a friends couch. The room was dirty, there was blood and stained sheets and it smelled absolutely disgusting. I didn’t stay here. I would like a refund. Repugnant.
Sadly this property is vey poor- I should have know upon late night check in- it was like a Convien store- check in through a bucket proffered glass outside- rooms filthy- patched holes in walls- open busted walls under sink- smoke free rooms Reeked of cigarette smoke- No smoke detectors they’ve been removed- beds had only sheets no bed spreads- graffiti on doors- curtains had knife slash marks-Door had bracing from word been kicked in before- 2 Towels in the restroom. No wash cloths, hand towels, extra pillowcases or blankets-mold- old nicked furniture- no coffees maker- no breakfast or available dining area- Had two rooms we checked out - not acceptable for how Property is advertised
Check in and check out were easy. They did charge a small fee for our dog, which wasn't a big deal, it was just unexpected (maybe I didn't read all the fine print). There was also a room deposit which I had read other reviews saying the deposit didn't get refunded. We turned our keys in around 9a, she processed the deposit refund, and it was back on my card within 24 hours.
Carpet needs cleaned, room needed a good cleaning, tub faucet had a constant stream. We had to change rooms due to cigarette smoke smell.
While the pictures look great you may want to keep looking and spend a little more$$. I had to wait 10 min outside a security window to pay my deposit (it felt like the clerk was safe inside...but was ???)

It is a basic one-night stay. We did not expect anything fancy, and it was exactly like that. However, the whole check-in process took 45 minutes due to account issues of the hotel with Orbitz. The front desk person had to call customer care while we waited. It was brutal for us since we wanted to rest before next morning flight. The vending machine was broken, the magnetic key card did not work on the first go, meaning I had to come down the stairs, walk all the way to the front desk and get another key. The front desk person were extremely slow and fussy, not tech savvy as well, to make things worse. Not a very good experience.
Hot tub and pool are cover, can not use. Room are not clean, show do not work. People smoke all over in hallway, staff like never see.
This was an economical hotel that we very much appreciated after a long first day on our trip. Room was sufficient to get the job of sleeping and showering done. Wouldn't recommend for extended stay.

The Discovery Inn offers basic, affordable accommodations. It strives to make them pleasant but it's difficult to overcome years of minimal reinvestment in the property and intentional economization. So towels are small and thin, bedding is soft (mattresses) and meager (blankets), the carpet feels like it's been there forever, and the breakfast falls short of, say, what you'd find at a Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn Express. That said, the place was clean and staff are organized and kind, especially those working the night shift, and do their best to make everyone comfortable. If you're looking for a budget hotel, you could definitely do much worse. The Discovery Inn is honest about what it offers and avoids over-promising, which I appreciate.
This hotel was an interesting mix of very nice and super getto. Homeless people walking around everywhere in the area. When I got to my room, there was no alarm clock and I was informed that they do not do wake up calls. I also immediately noticed that the deadbolt on my room did not work. I reported this and was asked, well, can you live with it? The towel rack was also falling off the wall and the doors and walls were filthy. That being said, the room had very nice crown molding, granite countertops, and a nice stone shower. Weird mix of nice and getto..... The bed was super soft. I thought it was going to be terrible, but I actually slept great in it! Breakfast did not start by the time I had to leave at 6, so I don't know how that was...
