The Tangerine2.5 out of 5.0

The Tangerine might be small and cosy, but it's warm with additions to make anyone feel comfortable. They have a complimentary coffee/tea with pastries from a nearby bakery. Their furnishings are slightly different based on room type. Small bathroom, but very clean. The best part is the bed! The sheets are soft and you are guaranteed a great night's rest.
Good place for a few nights - had Chipotle, Subway and some more formal sit down restaurants within easy walking distance. Nice little outdoor pool. Rooms were clean and well taken care of (we did have trouble with the remote and TV set up as the sensor on the TV was on its way out). Parking is tight in the front, there is parking in the rear, which worked out fine. Nice little coffee/espresso machine in the lobby and some good muffins and donuts for breakfast - facility size is limited so not a typical hotel provided breakfast/much more limited in choice/selection. Wifi worked well. My wife and I would stay here again.
I stayed at this hotel with my family of 4, including my two sons (11 and 7). The room was a great size for that large group. My boys loved the heated pool, which was comfortable even in March. The hotel has been tastefully remodeled and tidy. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Finally, the area was nice and safe. The hotel is located on a main-street like road with several good restaurants practically co-located, including a pizzaria and restaurants serving Mexican and Italian food . The hotel is just a couple of blocks from Warner Brothers Studio.
The Tangerine is a small hotel, their rooms are very nice. They have a heated pool but we wished there was a jacuzzi. It is in a really nice quiet area, so we were able to walk to restaurants and take a quick lyft to universal studios :)
Excellent small hotel close to Universal Studios and other movie studios. Also, there are many restaurants with delicious food within walking distance. The beds and pillows were amazingly comfortable and the room was spotless. Even though the hotel is located on a somewhat busy street it was very quiet. Onsite parking is included at no extra cost--a significant cost savings over other hotels. Everyone was friendly and welcoming from the front desk staff to the groundskeeper to the maids. I would definitely stay here again.
The staff was very friendly. Private parking easily available. Pool was clean and inviting. The room was smaller than expected and generally motel-like. The refrigerator was fabulous!
We stayed at this hotel because we were going to the Ellen Degeneres show. We could walk there if we wanted to. Also it was close to the Warner Brothers tour that we took. Loved having the Mexican restaurant next door. Great Margaritas!! Many great restaurants near by that you could just walk to. Very close to the airport. Also very close to Pasadena. We took a ride there to see where the Rose Bowl is played. This is the second time this year we stayed at this hotel & we definitely would stay again.
This was a convenient location with terrific staff. The bathroom was a bit on the tiny side, but adequate. The room was nice and quiet and very comfortable. We loved being able to walk to great dining or navigate to more remote areas. There's even a Trader Joe's in the neighborhood.
Great location, within walking distance to many great restaurants. Room was clean and very quiet. Nice breakfast rolls from local bakery. Desk staff were excellent and held our luggage for the day while we attended local tv show.
Had a pleasant stay at The Tangerine. I would definitely book here again next time I go back to L.A. Pros: the lobby smells like tangerines, they provide pool towels, the pool is constantly heated to match the cool Cali weather, the room is very nice, and its close to Warner Brothers and Universal Studios and different food places! Cons: Limited parking and not enough pillows!
Fairly good update. Room was small. Air conditioning was strange. Either too cold or too warm. At least the white noise from the air conditioning drowned out the noisy street. Good pastries.
I think they've done a great job renovating this place into a hip, boutique-like small hotel. The location is perfect. Close to studios, walking distance to many great restaurants, close to freeway. Complimentary continental breakfast in the morning was wonderful -- high quality pastries from a local bakery and diverse selection of coffee, tea, espresso. Front desk staff was terrific. Very professional. My only negative was the bed. Mattress was a little too firm for my taste.
My daughter & I stayed there because we had tickets to the Ellen show. This hotel was the perfect location for us. We flew in from Canada so this hotel was only about 10 minutes away from airport and easy to find. We were able to park the car and walk everywhere. Close to Warner Brothers Studio and Universal studios. Plenty of restaurants nearby to walk to. Close to the highway which took us to Pasadena. Staff very helpful when checking in and printing our boarding passes when leaving.
It was a lovely place to stay. Just the parking situation wasn't the greatest. But overall great stay.
My boyfriend and I decided to get a room here since we were heading to a concert and it would be too late to drive home. I loved everything about the space. The staff were so nice and accommodating. The bed and bed sheets were so comfortable! The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in at a Hotel. Everything was so clean and vibrant. There are also fresh baked pastries they serve from a nearby bakery. I loved all the little touches. The neighborhood is safe and clean as well. Very close to everything but away from all the buzz of Hollywood Blvd.
This was our third stay at Tangerine in 2015. We enjoy its convenient location to our family, and being next door to Don Cuco's is an extra benefit. Very quiet for being on busy Riverside Dr. Close to the Burbank Airport. The staff here are always amazing. The pastries are tasty and the coffee selections are numerous at breakfast. It was too cool to use the pool this time.
We stayed here while visting LA and Universal Studios. The location is great and there are some nice little restaurants within walking distance. Highly recommend the Thai place around the corner. The hotel is clean and comfortable, however parking is limited and on first come first serve in the back. We ended up parking on the street both nights since we didn't return to the hotel until later in the evening. Otherwise will recommend.
I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel. Was very clean, everyone is very helpful and friendly! The beds were super comfortable! This is the first time I've ever slept so well at a hotel-was very quiet. Location was perfect-close to Universal Studio, Warner Bros., Santa Monica beach, Hollywood...Plus free parking and free wifi. I would definitely stay here again!!! The ONLY reason I gave a 4 out of 5 for WIFI was because we had to keep trying to connect to the WIFI and it expires everyday. But considering it was free that was ok (another hotel we were looking at didn't have free wifi and they charged for parking your car!) The rooms are uniquely decorated which was very cool but I loved the little touch they did, was so clever...hotel is called Tangerine and when you walk in your room there's a tangerine/orange smell (from oil sticks)-nice touch!! Loved it! Smelt clean. Housekeeping was very thorough and did a great job each day!
Clean room. Helpful staff. Picture is a bit deceptive though.
A friend and I are from the Midwest, and it was our first time in the West coast. Although we do have some hotels here in the Midwest similar to, it was definitely different entering our room from the outside. We only encountered 3 staff members, and they were all very friendly and helpful. HUGE thumbs up for free parking and WiFi. We got the one king-sized bed room and the vanity is beautiful. The bathroom may have been slightly small, but the bathtub is a very nice size. Overall, I would reccommend to anyone to stay at the Tangerine Hotel!
