Great location right in the mix of things and Sunday food market or festival while there in the Indian slash middle eastern food

The hotel property was going thru a whole refurb on the rooms, corridors, restaurant, and lobby. They did a excellent job and reflected in the new rooms. We stayed in room 304 & 315 and they were amazing! We will see you soon!

We had a great time and it was the perfect location, close to the tube, to tour all that London has to offer!

There was a night club on the ground floor and the guests spilled out onto the street outside and made for difficult sleeping in the rooms above. The rooms themselves are simple and clean, location gave easy access to the Tube and buses.

Great location right around the corner from the tube. Free wifi. Stayed for a number of nights in a triple room (3 separate beds, which was nice). Weekend nights were not the best for sleeping as there was a bar down the street but other than that no complaints

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the room and the place was very clean.

They gave me a bigger room; but the amenities were not as good; again, no phones in the hotel; it took me 3 days to find out none was connected..I price is not that bad but am disappointed.

Hotel's location was a fifteen minute walk from Tower Bridge, but a decent location given the price. It was difficult to find the hotel because of where it was located and the directions are fairly vague, too.The bed and pillow was extremely uncomfortable which made it difficult to sleep. I would not stay here again but I do not regret staying here because the price was affordable.

Brick lane rules!!! great vintage shopping, great restaraunts, great nightlife, right next to 3 tube stations! When we booked a single we found that the room had 4 beds and a lounge area. Super hip area. Lots of young people, very international. I wont hesitate to stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay very much, it provides ok value for the money. The neighborhood is a little dicey, but it's close to a Tube stop so it works out all right.

I would advise against staying at City Hotel of London on a Friday or Saturday night on the 1st floor next to the restaurant/lounge due to the annoyingly repetative "techno" music playing well into the early morning hours. And, also cheap mattress!!!

We had a two room suite for our family of four at a lower price than much more meager accommodations would have cost at most other hotels. Staff was friendly/helpful. Neighborhood is a little funky but safe with an active night life. Hotel entrance is just a few hundred feet from an underground entrance. Room was clean though some of the furniture was a little worn. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

We were a little leery when we first arrived at our hotel. The neighborhood seemed a little sketchy, especially with the empty, graffiti filled lot directly across the street that (based on observation) was clearly used as a drug haven. We also had a little difficulty locating the hotel, because Osborn Street was not obviously marked. However, the hotel itself was nice, clean, and the staff was excellent. They were very helpful in scheduling tours of London. The shining star of the hotel however, is the attached restaurant. The food was excellent and the staff very impressive. The manager really took care of us and I can honestly say that it felt like we were leaving a good friend when we checked out of the hotel. We highly recommend this hotel and restaurant, in spite of the sketchy location.

Close enough to work. Area a little run-down, but a niche bar or two nearby. Close to the tube.

The all-white room was spacious and charming. The Pan Asian restaurant food, exceptional. I also enjoyed a light supper in the bar; however, it's a sports bar and very noisy and crowded on weekends. I suggest you get rooms on the second floor or above. Very close to the White Chapel Art Gallery, which I loved.

The hotel itself was decent enough. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and well equipped with a nice amount of space. However, the location of the hotel is not so great. It's in the Whitechapel area of East London. As a single woman, I was not comfortable walking alone at night. The Aldgate East tube station is very close, so that was great for travel around the city.

The hotel was clean and quiet. Some of the staff did not speak English so communication was an issue. There was no hairdryer provided in my room and it took more than 24 hours for me to finally get one after more than 6 visits and other phone calls to the front desk over 2 different days. The front desk could not tell me where to buy stamps and did not keep any to sell to visitors at the desk. The front desk staff were not able to provide directions in the local area. The "tube" transportation was out of service close to the hotel during my stay, this was unexpected and caused extra walking and cab fare on my trip. I did feel safe in the hotel except that the maid would leave my windows unlocked every day while I was gone and since there was an open balcony area to the neighboring rooms I felt fortunate nothing was stolen from my room and that I didn't come in to any unexpected visitors as I returned to my room each night. Since traveling alone this made me uncomfortable.

When we got to the hotel, the hotel lost our reservation. After about 1 hour did we finally get a room. The room was small but it was cozy. What made my stay was the on-site bar and restaurant. Both places was one of the nicest places I've seen while travelling around Europe. For the price the hotel stay was 50/50 for me.

the only thing we didn't like was the fact that our room was right above the lounge/club and friday and saturday was so noisy and so loud. we couldnt' sleep.
