My wife and I just completed a five-night stay at this property so we got to know it farily well. The good? Neither of us remember a hotel where ALL the staff are as friendly and helpful. Emerald greeted us warmly upon our arrival and check-in was seamless, except for the security key reader on the hallway door not working properly. Emerald saw we were having problems and walked all the way across the lobby to assist us, without being asked, and did so with a smile! Thanks. (It took her several attempts to get the key reader to work.) Wasantha, the housekeeping supervisor saw I was having repeated problems with this key reader mid-week and apologized profusely for the inconvenience. (The hallway key reader was replaced before our departure. Thank you!) She also connected cordially with me later in the week whilst I was sitting in the reading area at the end of my 4th floor room to inquire how everything was going with our stay. Thanks, again! Shawna, our housekeeper during the week, was also very cordial and thorough in responding to our minimal room needs (as we opted for the hotel's green program) promptly and efficiently, each time with lots of smiles! I note that the hotel and our room were very clean, in fact, much cleaner than some hotels half the age of this property. Really, the staff at this property are incredible. And they need to be, because the bad . . .? The property is aging and showing many signs of needing to be reno-ed. I had repeated problems with the key reader on my room door not working properly. This was most annoying. The issue - the readers are old and need to be replaced. While the room was clean the room amentities are showing much wear. My desk chair was so worn it looked like something you would find at a garage sale. The elevators are also old and likely need a good overhaul. My wife overheard one of the housekeepers saying to another staff member she did not want to get on one of them for fear it wouldn't arrive at the destination floor. Apparently, it infrequently quits working and did so for part of our stay. A friendly staff team can only support an older property so long, before customers are turned off by amenities that are worn or no longer work. These issues were enough for my wife to suggest that she may think of staying elsewhere in the future and she travels for work to this part of Edmonton a lot. If it weren't for a great staff team and customer service, she would definitely make the jump now. Without the staff team this review would have merited no more than 3 points. The staff was a "6," so I issued a 4-point rating.

It's an okay hotel. They need to upgrade the rooms. What's noticeable is the paint is chipped on the doorframes, the bedding is worn, it's just an old place overall. I was expecting better being it was a Sheraton.

Came into town to celebrate my birthday at a football game and stayed overnight at this hotel. I emailed the hotel 2 days before with all my reservation details to let them know we were celebrating a birthday, and although I stated that I didn't know what exactly I was asking for, some kind of acknowledgement (even verbal) by the guest services team would go a long way to making this a special weekend. We arrived and did not receive any special greeting or acknowledgement. Room type we reserved ended up being changed on us (booked 1 bed for the extra space, ended up getting 2 beds) although I didn't have the energy to say anything. In terms of the hotel condition, I found it to be kind of rough around the edges... some of the trim and decor was worn down, many scratches on the leather desk chair and some on the dresser/side tables etc. Slow elevators. Probably time for a refresh and aesthetic renovation. On the plus side, the bathroom was very nice and very clean. Pool area was nice; we were disappointed they did not have a hot tub, however that was our own fault for not checking in advance. Although it wasn't essential for the service team to make a birthday acknowledgement, it would have brought this review from a 3 to a 4 or 5. Little things in customer service make a big difference when most hotels offer the same basic product - a clean and safe place to spend the night. We will try a different south Edmonton hotel next time we need to stay over in the city.

Stayed here in July 2017 for 1 night. The hotel is located outside of the “down town” area, to the point that you’ll need a car or bus if you want to get around. Parking is free, and the lot is well lit. Checkin the hotel was quick, and I was informed I was upgraded to a suite at checkin. Unusual for SPG Gold, but I gladly accepted. The hotel has a nice water feature in the lobby. Overall, the hotel is older and need of a renovation in the near future, but everything functioned as it should. My room was on the 7th floor (top floor) and was very spacious. It had a fireplace and hot tub in the room. Since I was by myself, it wasn’t romantic, but it was nice to have the extra space. The room had 2 exterior walls, with a window on each. Neither view was amazing, just the basic sprawl of southern Edmonton. The mini fridge in the room was a little on the loud side, but it may have been a loose shelf. It was nice to have cold drinks nearby. There is an indoor pool that’s big enough to swim laps or just float around in. There’s also a steam room that can accommodate 3 or 4 people. If you use the steam room, I recommend starting it 10-15 minutes before you plan to enter. Both areas were clean, and there are plenty of towels available. There’s a few fast food places nearby, and a casino down the street. Overall, the hotel was nice and met my needs. If I were to stay in Edmonton again, I’d consider staying here. Edmonton is a large city, land wise, so if you have a car already, its best to find a clean hotel with a good rate. Rates at this hotel are often competitive, and shouldn’t be overlooked.

Ever since they changed the restaurant menu, the food quality and portion sizes have dropped. I joined some friends for lunch at the pub and I ordered chicken fingers for $14.00. When the food arrived, we all looked at my plate and were shocked to see five small pieces of chicken alongside a good helping of fries. By small, I'm talking chicken nugget sized pieces. I checked the menu again, thinking our server may have inadvertently ordered appetizer chicken fingers, but there are no chicken fingers on the appetizer menu. When I asked, our server agreed the portion was small, and said she would look into it for me. It turns out the kitchen is told by corporate how many pieces of chicken are to be given per portion. The portion size is 5 pieces, regardless of the size of the pieces. The chicken itself was great, but I could have used more of it for $14.00. The pub staff are all fantastic, and really do a great job of looking after their clientele. I have absolutely no complaint whatsoever with the staff whenever we are there. I was pleased to see the chicken fingers were removed from our bill, and we enjoyed a round of drinks on the house. Lesson learned: don't order the chicken fingers!

Stayed for 2 nights in a standard 2 queen room. I chose this hotel for easy access to both Sherwood Park and Edmonton. It's easy to get to from either Highway 2 or Yellowhead Hwy. The price offered on the Sheraton Website was also hard to beat! I'll agree with the majority of the recent reviews and say this property is a bit tired and worn out. The rooms are definitely due and maybe overdue for a renovation. This is surprising for a Sheraton property, but take advantage of the value as likely the prices will go up after that happens! Check in was quick and very friendly. The room was a bit rough around the edges, banged up furniture, dated window coverings and decor, but the beds were great, clean and comfortable with nice duvets. There was also a mini fridge and microwave. The heating / cooling system worked great. We weren't in the room much so this place certainly did the trick! I'd stay again if the price was right. If another Four Points Sheraton was priced less or the same though I'd go with a newer one.

Stopped by the restaurant for lunch with friends. New menu left a little to be desired. Yam fries for $15??? Ok, it has a truffle aioli dip. Probably pretty fancy then. Sure, why not! The fries were a side-order size and the dip was indistinguishable from mayonnaise! I could have gotten a sandwich on the side for the same price! Fortunately, the waitress agreed and took it off the bill. Thank you.

Stayed here during the first week of July. Room, furnitures, elevators look old. Bed comfort was ok, not extra. A real major refurbishment is really needed. Staffs were ok. Only positive I could mention is the large parking space they have.

Booked this last minute. Area seems a bit sketchy but the hotel is secured. Room was clean and immaculate,staff is very friendly. Hotel has a green option for room Cleaning in which you get rewarded a 5$/day coupon for use in the restaurant. Great staff, refreshing glass of fruit infused water, fridges in room, coffee and complimentary bottles of water. This place can't get any better.

The hotel was renovated several years ago, each room used to have a balcony, these were closed in to make the room bigger and overall the renovation was successful however, now the room is bigger, the bathrooms are the same and they are so small it's one person at a time and you have to side step to close the door. The hallways have peeling wallpaper and the lighting is poor so it gives the impression of not being we'll maintained. My best recommendation for this hotel is just OK for the price paid, I would not stay with them again.
