The hotel is an older property but rooms have been renovated and are very clean and roomy. Staff are helpful and very friendly. The restaurant and bar are reasonably priced and the food was good. The only complaint is that you can hear noise from the hallways. I sleep with earplugs so it didn't bother me. Overall thei hotel is good value and I would recommend it..
We stayed for a hockey tournament with our team. There was many teams staying there. They were running up and down the halls until early am. Ridiculous! Front desk was no help, simply shrugged it off. The pool is open 24 hours a day...in our room we could hear the pool all night. In the 2 nights we stayed, we might have got 4 hours sleep. Absolutely - do not recommend this for quiet nights sleep.
Staff is friendly and try to help as much as they can. The hotel itself is old and rundown. Furniture and carpet in the rooms are faded and/or ripped. I have to stay here about 5 nights a month as my company books this hotel and each time I get into the elevator I play a game where I try to guess if the inside of the elevator will smell like booze, cigarettes or urine.
Very clean room. Spacious room with comfortable bed.Building was old but staff keep it really clean and shine.Super friendly staff.Beautiful waterfall. Convenient location and free parking. We will be back again.
Staff & lobby area very nice. Rooms are from the 70's, in bad need of flooring/carpet replacement, baseboards, wall paper & furniture. Bathroom also very small, worn & dated. However, all were very clean, which was a pleasant surprise. Not great value, won't stay there again.
The Hotel in general is ok (very good for the price), although the restaurant is probably the main weakness. It is well situated for most of the central Edmonton including downtown. However, don't expect much from the neighbourhood.
This hotel is surprisingly lower scale for a Sheraton hotel. Check-in was frustrating. We arrived for a trade show in the area and had requested an early check in. We arrived 45 mins after our requested time and our room wasn't ready. They did move us to a lower grade room because we had to get to the trade show. The girl at check-in barely gave us any information. She wasn't friendly. Didn't explain why she ran thru my credit card before our stay. Didn't tell us where the elevators were. We also didn't receive our breakfast coupons. Check in did not feel very welcoming at all. The room was ok and clean. The hotel was very full because of the trade show. It was frustrating getting to the room as they only had one working elevator. There was always a line up for the elevators and they were very full. People we're frustrated having to wait to get to their rooms. I guess before we arrived neither elevator worked. Also many guests had trouble with their room keys not always unlocking the doors. The price isn't bad. But for the level of service and the fact that the elevators don't work the price should be lower. The hotel breakfast is nice if it is included. But you can also pay for it if it isn't included. The price was a bit steep for what you got. I've stayed at lower end hotels that have had better working facilities and friendlier staff for less. I think they are leveraging their location to the trade center and the fact that there aren't a lot of hotels in the area to get by with sub-standard facilities and less friendly staff for the rate they are charging.
We stayed here one night for a wedding in November. It is located kind of like an industrial area. There is casino and a church nearby. We didn't stay in the hotel too long to enjoy the amenities. The rooms size are decent. The furniture definitely needs some attention though. The drawer boxes have stained in it, so it renders them useless. Bathroom is in good shape, good water pressure. All in all, we have a nice stay, comfortable sleep.
We enjoyed our three day stay. Extremely friendly and courteous staff. The hotel is well kept and we had a clean room. The beds are extremely comfortable and our room was a good size. We ate at the Duke which is the pub located in the hotel. Great food, try the mini for kids enjoy a pint and watch one of the many t.v.'s. Great bar staff. Will stay again.
We stayed here for 2 nights while my brother had heart surgery at the Mazankowski Heart Institute. Our time at the hotel was limited but would happily stay again. We were about a 15 min drive to the hospital which was easy to get to from the hotel. Front desk staff were pleasant. I really liked the room key access to get through the door to the rooms...great security feature. We had supper twice at the restaurant at the Duke or Argyll and can't say enough positive things about the staff and the food. As busy as they were we never felt like we had to wait. Our waitresses were friendly and fun while still being professional. Service was excellent !
