This please is very clean and trendy. The rooms feel like they could be right out of a photo on Pinterest. Parking is difficult if you don't use the Valet. My first night I arrived after the Valet service was gone, the hotel lot has very limited parking. I ended up finding a spot on the street, but it too a while.

We stayed at the Sophy for a full weekend and made it our home base during a visit with family who live nearby. We enjoyed local restaurants and walking through the neighborhoods that surround Hyde Park, including. We also enjoyed a long slow walk to the lake shore on Sunday morning. It was a perfectly relaxing experience. The hotel staff was especially friendly and accommodating. They were hands above any stay I've had at other hotels. The food from the restaurant was delicious either in the dining room or through room service. And there is a lively happy hour crowd each evening. Our accommodations were simply spectacular. The room’s décor was lovely and modern throughout with great attention to detail in every choice from the tiling, to the rugs, the linens, the art and the decorative items. It felt like a home, not a room. We will definitely be back!

A top-notch hotel and local community magnet in Hyde Park. Friendly, local and efficient. Located close to the UofC, but it will be a new anchor of the area. The lobby bar is abuzz with live and energy.

If you love a boutique hotel that is full of character, this is an excellent choice! The artwork is stunning - everywhere you look. And, the suite we stayed in was gorgeous. Wall to wall window (with electronic shades, of course), a gorgeous marble bathroom and a comfortable living space. We came to visit the University of Chicago for my son to tour and the location was perfect for that. We also had dinner in the restaurant and it was delicious. We'll be back!

Loved this hotel. The rooms are beautiful and it's in a great location. The rooms were well appointed with cute touches like record players and jazz albumns. My only gripe is the cost of overnight parking ($42).

I visited the Sophy Hotel on 3/30/19(overnight stay) first-time visit, and I must say "MY EXPERIENCE WAS BEYOND EXCELLENT)!.....EXCEPTIONAL!!!! s/o to Kenya(Ms."K")and Nicole night-shift( for their kind, genuine professionalism) They were so helpful and pleasant while(assisting me and answering all my questions/request)** TWO THUMBS UP**! s/o to Darwin ( whom checked me in on 3/30 and Brianne whom checked me out on 3/31)Darwin, and Brianne was VERY KIND,PLEASANT,PROFESSIONAL and they PROVIDED EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE to me! **TWO THUMBS UP** s/o to Sam( I THINK THAT'S HIS NAME)...When, I entered the hotel(to check-in) He greeted me and politely asked me " if I needed help with my over-night bags"! He escorted me to my room, helped me with my bags, and briefly advised me (on everything I needed to know about my selected room)from controlling the temperature to how the record player worked w/blue tooth or w/o! **TWO THUMBS UP** THE ENTIRE STAFF WAS AWESOME AND FRIENDLY(FROM HOUSEKEEPING TO THE VALET GUYS) **TWO THUMBS UP** And, s/o to the ARCHITECT(S) **FIVE STARS**....This is definitely my "NEW GETAWAY SPOT"! KEEP UP THE AWESOMENESS "SOPHY HOTEL FAMILY"! :)

If your looking for a place to stay near the University of Chicago, check out Sophy Hyde Park. It is a new property with great interior appointments and comfort. The room with large and well laid out, with some unexpected neat features (there was a working record player, compete with some nice Jazz LPs) I would definitely come back here.

Was visiting a friend in Hyde Park and we found it was actually around the same price if not cheaper to stay in the Novel Suite instead of renting an Airbnb for 4 people. Hotel is stunning, modern, and clean. We had brunch at Mesler one of the mornings we were there and the food was delicious and great value. Staff were incredibly kind and friendly. Highly recommend and will stay again the next time we're back!

I had a family member in the hospital and chose this hotel for its location to the hospital. The staff was very accommodating as to my schedule. Everyone on the staff was very friendly, the food was great (good size portions and reasonably priced), and the whole ambiance of the hotel was eclectic and interesting. I would not hesitate to stay at The Sophy Hyde Park again if I ever have a need to be in Chicago.

Love the decor and spaciousness of each room. The ambience is the best and hotel is centrally located. I feel like I'm a guest in a luxury home. Love the convenience of the restaurant and bar. Awesome stay for business, pleasure or family.
