The lobby area carpet has an old appearance. Our first night, the tub had several hairs, the mini-bar didn't have anything in it at all. Literally a step above Motel-6. The second room had a fully stocked mini-bar and slightly cleaner bathroom. Would not recommend for the $300 per night we paid.

Great location, wonderful lobby.

Hotel was very nice, with quality finishes and in a good, central location to Chicago shops and entertainment. Close to transit, as well. Rooms were a little small but great otherwise.

Staff very attentive. Nice location. Older very historic hotel, so if you dont mind an older property, it is a very nice place

Great lobby, grand and elegant. Nice bar service. Front desk understaffed, somewhat long waits, however helpful staff. Rooms are a bit old but it’s to be expected for such a historic hotel. Small bathroom and didn’t seem like the room service was excellent: no body wash when I showered the first time upon arrival, an already used soap at the sink. Besides that, it was fine. The area around the hotel is prime, one block from Millennium Park.

Filled with history. Not the fashionable part of town any longer. Drake my next visit

We always stay at the Palmer while in Chicago. The staff and atmosphere are incredible

I’ve been staying at Palmer House for 25 years and it never disappoints!

Initially the room was not clean; but we were immediately given another room that was.

Pool was closed for renovations. Wasn't very clean under the bed. The front desk was not helpful when I needed to find a 24 hour pharmacy and told me just to 'google it'

The environment was very unique I loved the lobby and everything. What I didn’t like was that we weren’t informed that the pool was under construction.

I loved the decor inside the room and in the lobby. It was gorgeous

We stayed overnight as a family during the Christmas season to enjoy downtown Chicago and sightsee. The location is perfect for walking to the must-see tourist spots, even with small children. This historic hotel is decorated beautifully with a grand tree in the lobby and really makes for a special visit with family. The pool was temporarily closed, but we were pleasantly surprised that our room included free ice skate rental at the McCormick ice skating rink just a block away in front of the "bean" and near the Millenium Park Christmas tree.
