Historic hotel. Beautiful vibes. Excellent staff. We had a suite and our cleaning lady was the NICEST woman. My friend had laryngitis and she brought her tea and lemon and honey. Rooms are reasonably priced but drinks and food are very $$$$$$ (which is expected in Chicago). Staff was outstanding.

Shabby and expensive

Disappointed with the fascade of service but no service. Everything is in poor condition old and not upgraded. The tub was so slippery that we needed to find a rubber mat for safety. To calls lended nothing and finally they brought us some towels. Not what we asked for. Plenty of rooms available yet we were told that to get two double beds was an "upgrade' and cost more$. Every time we use the convenience store the first screen was asking for a tip even before showing us the cost of our items. The bathroom door paint was peeling off and falling onto the floor. We will never return this place is shabby and cost double what we might have paid at an upgraded hotel.

The hotel lobby is incredible including a number of shops and bars plus live music. Our room had a handicap accessible shower which caused water to get all over the entire bathroom floor. Other than that, it was a great experience.

I recently stayed at Palmer House, and overall, it was a decent experience. The location was convenient—close to local shops, restaurants, and public transportation—which made exploring the area easy and enjoyable. The room itself was clean and adequately furnished. Staff were polite and responsive, though service wasn’t particularly memorable. Check-in and check-out were smooth.
