The Palmer is the place we stay when in Chicago. Has a great atmosphere and a wonderful location

This is the best place to stay when visiting Chicago if you like charm, history, and dignity. The rooms are very comfortable and the lobby is a joy.

The staff is so welcoming and friendly. Enjoyed meal and drinks in lobby while listening to live music. Thank you.

Comfortable stay with a classic and historic setting.

The hotel was very noisy at night with sounds coming from within the walls (elevator cables? HVAC?). Also, the hallway we walked down to our room was very dark with almost no lighting. The room did not come with a coffee maker/microwave. The fridge was packed with junk food and drinks that were very expensive. No room in that fridge for any leftovers to store from a restaurant.

I’ve stayed here before enjoyed the hotel. This time it was overrun with tourists filling the lobby so that there was no area to sit and a few homeless people sleeping in the lobby and other places. We had a suite and the potentially adjoining room had zero soundproofing so we could hear every word of the conversation and in our bedroom. Including fighting. Call security and they never came. The whole suite smelled of stale cigarette smoke

It’s old and not well maintained hotel. Bathroom tub had chips and room was tiny.

Very outdated rooms on top of a gorgeous lobby. THe rooms feel like they havent been updated since the 90s. Old TVs, slow wifi, a tablet which is supposed to help you access guest services but wont stay turned on. The AC also didnt work--we tried setting it as low as 55 and it was still blowing warm air. THe room is small (feels like an NYC hotel) even with a king bed, and the bathroom is cramped and poorly ventilated. Not four star hotel quality

The lobby is of course beautiful. But staff were almost absent. Hotel restaurant closed. Lobby bar was open and this was very pleasant - but bartender was very inattentive and unfriendly. Room was very small and in significant disrepair although very clean. No in room coffee or minibar. No fridge. But still for downtown sticker price. Very very disappointing stay.

I love the 1920's feel of this hotel Such a beautiful public areas, dining rooms. Feels like a step back into 1920's glamour. The walk down long hallways to many rooms is long for anyone with difficulty waking. Many rooms on Wacker st side are on the EL so noisy at night. Rooms are good size for city hotel. Could use another chair and small table. I will always stay there in downtown Chicago. Convenient to many theaters, restaurants and Lakefront, museums.

Chicago is great, and the Palmer House is centrally located with access to everything.

This is a very nice property and we were excited to stay here for a birthday and family get-together. Unfortunately the walls seem to be extremely thin and if your neighbors are doing anything aside from sleeping you will hear them all night. We really didn't want to complain but had to call security three different time and stopped by the room ourselves to ask that they please be quiet. We were ultimately up until after 4am, and would be hard pressed to return here.

Gorgeous hotel. Room was beautiful and location great. I didn’t understand why we couldn’t have a coffee maker in the room due to Covid. That would have made mornings much nicer.

The check in line was poorly managed, to say the least. After waiting in line 20 minutes, a hotel employee showed up and said there should be two lines, not just one. He proceeded to bring a group of people from the back of the line to the front of a 2nd line, essentially allowing them to cut in front of all of us who had been waiting much longer. Ridiculous. Waited in line a total of 45 minutes. Then another 15 minutes waiting for the exceptionally slow bartender to get 2 glasses of wine. A frustrating check in process.

Great location. Room with lots of problems: fridge did not work, leaky faucet, tablet for ordering food did not work, no coffee or tea or hot water to drink in the room. If you feel like a hot drink late at night, you have to go to the lobby.
