I travel a lot for business and I love the Hilton Garden Inn brand. Over the years this has been my go to location in the Chicagoland area. Adjacent to the North/South tollway, makes for easy Central Hotel for sales calls in the area either north south or west. The hotel is beginning to need an update. They still have the dial adjust beds. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t. You have to travel a couple of miles north for food options.
I travel every week and love the Hilton brand. This location is needing an update! Unfortunately the beds are still the dial type, so you make it as hard as possible and then you sink after a bit. These beds were cool while they worked, but not so good when you are sleeping in a canyon. The water pressure was very poor and I had it turned all the way to hot for 15 minutes and it barely got luke warm. Carpets, fixtures..... everything very outdated. Everyone that worked there was super friendly. It’s an ok place to stay, but those beds need to go!
We stayed over 2 nights during the weekend. The staff was great, the hotel was quiet, the mattresses are a bit firm because the adjustable beds don't always work, the workout room is small, and the pool is small. But knowing that you are just south of Schamburg and a bit out of the way may be just what you want. We wanted to save some money and still have the amenities - just knowing these details may help you decide to stay here. Go ahead and choose the hot breakfast option when you book and the wait/cook staff will provide you with a delicious meal. This hotel is a good value.
Had a bad experience which happens at hotels from time to time. Staff made a dismal attempt to resolve. Still pending a resolution. Food is expensive but menu has a decent selection. Breakfast has nice variety.
Nice hotel nice staff and good breakfast clean room comfortable place to relax and unwind will definitely stay again . Everything was clean carpet was fresh linen was clean and fresh housekeeping was nice and polite
Wanted to take my kids somewhere before school started so we decided on this hotel. Check in was fine but when we went to the pool is was so cold we didn't swim much. My daughter broke out into a rash right after we got out. Then we go back to our room and relax and when it's time for bed the sheets were for sure dirty and very itchy. I looked for bugs didn't see anything but at 2 am I had to switch roomed because it was so bad. The guy was so rude and gave me a attitude. I let it go. Moved all our stuff finally went to sleep. Wake up and make coffee half the condiments were missing. So I went down stairs and asked the server if breakfast was free she said yah. I said even from the cooks she said yes. Kids wanted cereal the milk was so old it had clumps! So I ordered from the cooks. Didn't smile and when I asked a question they didn't say a work just pointed to the menu. As we were done eating the waitress comes and brings a bill. I let it go and paid. Then someone pulled the fire alarm and my youngest daughter was crying the whole time it was so loud. Even tho I had such a horrible experience I was going to pay for one more day cuz my kids liked the idea of being away from home. So I called front desk and she said I had to pay triple what I paid. Even though I am a member. I was so done with everything I packed our stuff and drove 30 miles to another Hilton and wish I would of went to this place since the begging!!!
Had a wonderful stay on new years eve. Was greeted at the desk as Hilton Honors Member. Room was clean and had all the amenities (small kitchen area with microwave, fridge, Keurig, etc.). Bed was comfortable. I would stay here again !
Great staffvery helpful. Nice comfortable rooms.the beds were so comfortable. Great location of hotel close to the highway with in driving distance to fantastic shopping. You will be happy that you picked this hotel very clean affordable and quite rooms.
The room was very clean, service was good, and the "curb appeal" of the lobby was really nice. My only complaint was that the bed was uncomfortable, even with the adjustable feature, but that's just my two cents!
This is a good hotel if you want to be within driving distance of downtown Chicago on vacation. However, this may not be a good place to stay if you want to drive in during rush hour or have appointments or meetings in downtown - the drive is too long and the traffic unpredictably heavy. The rooms were very clean and nice, the staff could be friendlier, the amenities are standard Hilton quality.
