Comfortable, convenient to restaurants and shops. Staff was very friendly.
Very convenient for visiting Northwestern student. Will be back
No hot water! I have stayed at this property several times, and I can't understand why they don't fix the problem. If you like to shower at a normal morning time, avoid this property. Also, the property is tired. Things work, but every room has some problems: broken handles, trim, peeling paint, blinds that don't stay closed, etc.
Staff was very nice.
Very clean room and staff was great. Only thing I would say is water pressure in bathroom was very low under hot water and high when using the cold which obviously for a shower needed the hot. Too busy exploring to complain.
There were three items that were an irritation for us: 1) I was very surprised that the building ran out of hot water in the morning. When we brought it up to the front desk, they were very nonchalant--"Yeah, that happens a lot. Don't worry about it. Nothing is broken." 2) The hotel ran out of towels. We were given two towels for three guests. When we asked for an extra towel, they said that they had no more. They gave us another bath mat, so I used a bath mat and a hand towel to dry myself after my cold shower. 3) The hotel claimed that because of COVID, they would not clean the room each day. I don't see how COVID prevents cleaning while we are out of the room. The hotel could make some needed changes. It could invest in a better and/or larger hot-water system. It could buy more towels. It could hire more housekeepers. By doing these three things, the hotel could solve some very basic problems. After all, hot water, towels, and housekeeping should not be considered luxury amenities in a hotel.
The service is poor. I ask 3 times for room service to replace clean towels, but it didn’t happen. I have to go down to get it myself. The staff on duty didn’t know how to operate the printer, so I can’t print something I need.
Location Great Very close to northwestern university Clean. Small bathroom
Good: great location, great staff. Less good: hotel is 100 years old and so has tiny bathrooms. Hilton is trying, but the age of the property is, as they say, what it is. We'll still come back because of the good stuff.
Leticia at the front desk is superb, extraordinary; really understands how to treat people. 2 other front desk people also were fantastic, I wish I knew their names. One was a black lady, she was new to the job, the other, a lean black man was training her. I arrived at 11 pm Thursday oct 3rd. I hope they get the positive feedback.
