I booked a room on Orbitz, no problem. When I arrived at 7PM I discovered that the place was closed and there was no information onsite about how to contact an actual person. I went to my Orbitz email confirmation and discovered, buried in the fine print, that registration was only available between 3-5PM! Arrivals after 5PM require the guest to call the resort between 3-5PM so the cabin could be left open with a key inside. It was a dark, cold, snow blizzard evening and I was exhausted and had two sleepy boys in the car after a wonderful day skiing at Snowshoe. I had to drive an hour through the snow to Elkins and get a room at a different hotel. I wanted a refund, but had no one to talk to about it. Very frustrating to say the least! They should have a manager on duty, or at least a phone number posted for guest needs after 5PM. Never experienced this before - the ridiculous check in process needs to be explicit and obvious, not buried in the fine print of the confirmation email.
