OK going to Sudbury overnight and not staying with a Sudburian means you're there for a wedding, a funeral, driving through and need a placed to sleep - or you're on business. So if its business, you want a place with a goods bed, quiet, clean and a hotel bar that has good food. Checks all around. Food was damn good, the bar and beer on tap was even better. Estrella on tap! Damn. If I need to go to Sudbury again, I am staying right here.
First time at this hotel and not the last. Well located, and lots of parking. Quaint hotel and restaurant with bar. Many conference rooms. Rooms are well appointed and very clean. Beds are super comfortable. Will come back for sure. Price is very reasonable.
Stayed at Calrion hotel, Sudbury for 1 night en route from Sault Ste Marie to Algonquin park. The hotel is nice with clean rooms, great toiletries and modern and chic feel to it. Location is also great as well although didn’t get much time to explore the surroundings as mine was more of a stopover stay ! Overall recommended. :)
Located downtown with lots of parking space. Courteous and very helpfull front desk attendand. The newly renovations gives this Hotel a new modern look. The room was spacious, clean and the beds were very comfortable. We also enjoyed the indoor pool!!!
The hotel is located downtown close to restaurants and shopping. It is very modern, a very comfortable sleep with helpful, friendly staff on the front desk. The restaurant had a great breakfast and the adjoining bar was busy at night and the number of beers on tap were more than 50. We would certainly recommend this hotel and stay here on future visits to Sudbury.
Plenty of parking, the reception desk is at the parking level. Warm welcome from the front desk attendant (Rob), quick check-in process. Room is a decent size, everything in here looks fairly recent and in good order. Beds are comfy. Quick checkout. Restaurant that is part of the same building (Hard Rock...) is also very good, and breakfast is served there. Hotel is conveniently located next to a Beer Store. Building exterior did not inspire confidence, looks like an old building that was renovated but not a very good job. Former front door at street level is now cordoned off with tape, with front porch falling apart. Pool was closed indefinitely ("until further notice").
My first trip to Sudbury was for work, and I stayed at the Clarion because my meetings were there. Free parking, newly renovated room and amazingly comfortable bed! Breakfast was included in my stay, and it was a voucher for the attached pub which was fine, though the coffee was terrible (as expected).
I may be a tad biased with this review as my friends and I were staying the night after being rained out on lake Superior, whilst camping. Our needs were simple. Hot showers, comfy beds, and no wet. I booked through Hotels.com and had no issues. I have to recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to stay in Sudbury close to downtown. The rooms are clean, newly renovated, and well appointed. We booked a two queen bed room, and there was plenty of room for us three gals to spread out. Check in was a breeze, as was check out. Outside parking, and our car with the Thule was fine overnight. The lot is well lit and I think, patrolled. We asked for extra towels when we got up to our room, and the night guy brought them to us within five minutes. Excellent service! The attached restaurant, Hardrock42, was decent pub food with a HUGE selection of local and craft beer. We didn't have to leave the hotel to go down for dinner, which was a bonus. This is as bit of a jaunt back up to the Big Nickel and Dynamic Earth, so if you are touristing in Sudbury, you'll need to know the route back up to there. The location is right beside a Beer Store, which, when we arrived, had various people milling about that we were leery of. No one really bugged us, however. As we ate dinner, many, many rough-looking folks were wandering the front of the hotel outside, looking in the windows, smoking in front of where our booth was. Again, it didn't bother us, but if you wanted to walk after your dinner, this might not be the best location to do that. There is a pool, we didn't use it. In summary, a good hotel, good value, comfortable rooms, and efficient service.
We stayed at the Clarion Hotel for 3 nights in early July. The hotel is clean and comfortable with good size rooms. No issues with the wifi and close to Dynamic Earth & Science North. The kids loved the pool and the staff are friendly. We stayed Tuesday - Friday and found it to be very quiet. Great value.
I just returned from staying in Sudbury. When I was checking out, the concierge advised me that some of the rooms were undergoing refurbishment. Unbeknownst to me, I had stayed in one that had not yet been refurbished. It was still very clean and nicely decorated. Best of all, the mattress was super comfortable. I told the concierge that if I could have stuffed the mattress into my brief case to take it home, I would have done so. There is a pub-style restaurant on site with very good food; in the mornings, it offered a number of good-sized delicious breakfast selections. There is a small business office where one can convenientlyprint up a boarding pass before heading out to the airport. If and when I return to Sudbury, I will stay at the Clarion.
