I've stayed in this hotel for probably the last 10 years and about 1-3 times per year. I love it because it's close to the airport and if I feel like going down to Ostia in the evening it's about a 10minute drive for that.

ok place; wife not too happy about it. seemed pretty spartan. wifi was pretty iffy most of the time. was pretty clean. the breakfast, included free, was surprisingly decent for such a mediocre place. fortunately, we had a rental car and found parking on the street, but 6 EUR to/from airport using their shuttle seemed like a lot of money, especially most places i've stayed include such for free. and its frequency of operation was not very frequent.

Very basic residential home in a basic part of town but close to airport

1 night, but was good. Quiet hotel, good breakfast and wifi. Parking close and free.

The Hotel was difficult to find and located in an area surrounded by apartments. The name Merit was not found but the address was correct. It is undergoing renovations when we arrived. An advantage is it is cheap, has breakfast and is close to the airport with a shuttle for a small price.

I stayed at Merit / Maison Jolie Hotel just for one night (January 2015), because I had to wait that night for a flight the next day however it was a nice experience. I think the hotel is pretty and the people at the front desk were helpful and attentive (the girl at night time and the man at morning), specially with my italian/spanish/english mix of words. They knew what I need before I asked! I just don´t know if they have restaurant for lunch or dinner on the site because I arrived late at night (But they do serve breakfast). Thank you.

From the reviews, we didn't have high expectations of this hotel. As with others, we chose it for its location near the airport, which is indeed close by. The room was spacious and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful, even helping us set up a taxi to get to the airport before the normal time at which the shuttle began, costing us only 2 euros more than it would have cost for the shuttle for 3 of us. The bathroom even had towel warmers -- a nice touch! However, the holder for the shower nozzle was broken, so we had to commit one hand to holding it up while showering. We were awakened only once during the night by a jet going overhead, and otherwise it was in a quiet, residential neighborhood. We had dinner in downtown Rome before coming out (and to avoid the rush hour traffic), so didn't go looking for restaurants, but saw a couple on the way in that looked like they were walking distance. You don't come to this hotel for amenities or a long stay, but it's a good value for the night before your flight out of Rome.

I flew from Tampa, FL to Rome, then needed a good nights sleep prior to continuing on to Cape Town South Africa.. I booked a night here in both directions. Located just outside the airport in a residential area. The place was great except there is nothing to do there. No food, amusements etc. Had to walk a mile or so to eat and it was raining. But the room was perfect, new, clean and the staff very helpful. Breakfast was great with a coffee machine that made about 20 types of coffee (free). I recommend it.

This very average hotel is located on a small street or alley in a slightly seedy residential neighborhood. I would not feel comfortable staying there as a single woman. There is nothing in the area and I would not go out in the dark. There are no nearby restaurants.

We spent 2 nights at the end of our 2-week Italian trip. It's close enough to the airport that the shuttle ride is convenient (though we had a very hard time finding the shuttle at the airport the first time). With train service to central Rome, staying near the airport instead of in town was a win, since we could get to our international flight from the hotel easily. Room itself was larger than we needed, but lacked enough electrical outlets/lights. Otherwise it met all our needs at a good price.

We booked the room because of it's location, but the English speaking staff were very friendly, the room had a full kitchen and was very large. For anyone needing a room near the Rome airport, this is a good choice.

We stayed overnight to be near airport (Fiumicino), which is 3 km away. The room is a standard size. Bed was OK. Clean. We only heard one jet during the evening. Advantage is vicinity to airport. Shuttle was 6 euros each person one way. Schedule this with desk. Cost is at least as cheap, and sometime cheaper, than taxi. (Taxis from Fiumicino sometimes don't like to take you on such short distances. One couple paid 20 euros from airport. We were only charged 10 euros from airport.) The breakfast buffet was adequate. Overall, we'd stay again.

Nice little neighborhood; good restaurants walking distance.

First room was damaged. Second was ok but cold all night - would not get warm. Location was bad in a neighborhood - located in a condo complex. No restaurant anywhere close Extra blankets smelled badly. Overall, I would never ever stay there again.

Clean hotel close to the airport. It can be difficult to find.

Nice clean small hotel, modern with very comfortable bed, good amenities and an above average breakfast. Claudio and Claudia were very helpful in helping me with an airline problem. I recommend this hotel. Like a lot of places in Italy it was a little difficult to find the address with poor signage, but worthwhile once we arrived.

A very basic place near the Rome airport but hard to find. Print out a street map to give your driver just in case. We arrived and were greeted indifferently although admitted to our room 2 hours before official check in time. Disappointed that the shuttle into town was full...wish we were told we needed to reserve. We got there on our own (airport shuttle, train, subway) and that was fine but would have much preferred to ride door to door in comfort.. The room itself was bare bones but extremely clean with great sheets and tons of fluffy white towels. Great shower...you have to turn on the water heater first. No room safe but we left our unlocked belongings (including passport, jewelry) in the room and all was fine. Breakfast was included, the morning shuttle showed up promptly and took us back to the airport. For a safe place to leave our luggage, shower, sleep, and get back to the aiport, this place was fine.

Great location and close to Fiumicino Airport. Nice restaurant about a block away - ask at desk. Clean, large room with kitchen, nice bathroom, decent breakfast. Will stay again on next trip to Italy.

Awesome. Was understanding and courteous. Helped save a lot of money when traveling around Italy. A must place to be!

Clean and quiet. I get what you pay for.
