I research a lot and usually make a good choice. Not this time! The hotel is old and I was ok with that, However “charm” isn’t an excuse for neglect. The room size was good for Europe. However, it was so hot and stuffy - I did not sleep for the 4 nights I stayed. It was in the low 80’s in Rome last week during my stay-can’t imagine if it was hotter out The air conditioning can’t be lowered, despite what the front desk originally said. I spoke to several front desk attendants and got different stories every time. I was lucky enough to get a fan - gave little relief. My room was on the 4th floor and was so stifling hot that I could not come back during the afternoon for a rest after touring from early morning. Just miserable when you’re tired, hot and sweaty. The windows don’t have screens and when I did attempt to open, bugs came in. I also had tiny ants in the room, which the hotel blamed on me. The front desk staff was uninterested and unfriendly. There is no concierge - so don’t look for assistance in figuring out where to go and how to get there. Area is commercial, dirty (trash all over) and not convenient unless you want to be near train station. Definitely not in the beautiful “heart” of Rome. Bathroom had a sewage smell that was just gross. If you can, spend a little more money and stay in historic center - you will have a different experience of Rome. Was supposed to stay another night on my return from Sicily but couldn’t bear it so I cancelled my 2 rooms.
The air conditioning don't work, is very difficult sleeping, to much hot on rooms
No heat at night freeze ing at nigh
The pictures were misleading. Perhaps taken 50 years ago. The beds were hard and pillows poorest quality.we were initialy given a room with handicapped bathroom with toilet in the shower. Then when we asked for another room it took a long time to find one. The room and bathroom were still very small.Only positives were central location and cleanliness. Will definetly not return.
Great property with a nice terrace.
grand style, perfectly clean, quiet garden restaurant, taxi nearby
Building is very central, old, but great location. It’s about a ten minute walk from the train station. Reception area is decorated with a Christmas tree. The room and bathroom are adequately sized, with a large bath tub included. Fridge is stocked with free water. Breakfast buffet offered lots of foods (highly recommend the croissants). However, issues with the coffee machines did arise (weren’t restocked).
Love the old-world interior of this hotel. The staff were amazing-most were friendly and accommodating especially the young waiter at the breakfast buffet. Enjoyed our stay very much.
We both enjoyed the hotel very much . The front desk was very helpful and friendly. The room was well kept and breakfast was enjoyable in the garden . I thoroughly recommend this hotel
Conveniently located for access to many tourist sights. Very reasonable for its excellent accommodations.
Location, history, unique, service, food - excellent!

This property was absolutely outstanding. The staff was the most helpful I’ve ever encountered, gorgeous rooms, and wonderful drinks and food in the restaurant.
