This hotel was very nice, but quaint. Location is very close to the Vatican, a block from the Tiber. The staff was friendly, courteous and professional. The room was nice, but not too large. The highlight was the veranda. Ours overlooked the street and the Tiber river. It was so nice to sit out in the evening and have a drink or two. There is a very good breakfast, and the staff was able to help us with tours and airport transfer.

The rooms: The rooms are very basic and small. So is the bathroom. There’s not much else I can say about it. Only use it to spend the night and go out and explore Rome, because you don’t want to spend a whole lot of time here. Breakfast: Breakfast is pretty good. Not a huge amount of choice but enough variety and it tastes good. Tables are all for two people though, so you have to do some rearranging if you’re part of a larger party.  Staff: The staff is helpful and accommodating. We had a problem with the air-conditioning, a staff member took a look at it and ordered a technician to sort it out the next day. Where is it? This hotel is situated near the bank of the Tiber, fairly close to the Ponte Sant'Angelo. It is hidden away a bit. You’ve got to go through a narrow alleyway to find it. There are some small shops nearby as well as a decent pizzeria. In summertime, if you cross the street and head to the Tiber, there are stalls and food trucks there. A great way to spend your evening. The location is its strong suit. You can easily visit all the major sights on foot from here. Overall impression: I was quite happy with my stay here. The rooms aren’t great, but they're priced decently. Especially if you consider the excellent location of the hotel. What I didn’t like was that I had to pay the tourist tax in cash. They don’t accept cards for this, so be prepared.

We liked this place a lot. Our room was on the ground floor, and very interestingly designed (glass floors showing the rocks of Rome underneath). (The only adjustment I would make would be to have a larger safe to accomodate a laptop.) The public areas of the hotel are attractive. The staff were polite and helpful. The breakfast was good: a lot of fresh mellon and prosciutto and a range of other items, and espresso and cappuccino to order. The hotel is in walking distance of the Vatican, Trastevere and the whole centro storico. I would definitely return.

This hotel is a stone's throw from all the sights in Rome and is clean lovely. Prior to this we spent 3 nights in a 5 star hotel near Piazza Navona and only needed a one night booking here in between destinations. The room we got was amazing - it was on the 3rd or 4th floor (I can't remember) with a private balcony overlooking the river. Compared to the room we had in the 5 star hotel, this was twice the size and much more comfortable. Check in was very easy, and both Carl and the older gentleman manning the desk on our way out early the next morning (5:45 a.m.) were great. We didn't see the breakfast as we left too early. However, next time when we're in Rome I would definitely stay here and I would request a higher floor room with a view and balcony like we had.

This quaint hotel is in a small laneway just back from the Tiber. It is by no means a 5 star hotel but it is clean, comfortable and well located close to the Vatican and walking distance to a lively restuarant area. It has a good breakfast served in the dining room and the staff were very friendly and helpful. On our first night we didn't realise the window had outside shutters and the light from the street light iutside our window left our room very light. The hotel moved us to another room with no fuss whatsoever. Very obliging. A budget priced hotel providing excellent value for money.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and it was clean and comfortable. We changed rooms after the first night due to the street lamp shining through the window. Breakfast was good but not replenished regularly but that was because other guests filled their plates. Staff were lovely, the location is close to the Vatican, a 15 minute walk to Travestare and a short walk across the bridge to the hop on hop off bus. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Rome.

Very comfortable, very helpful staff, central location, exceptional breakfasts: everything from boiled eggs and scrambled eggs to fried bacon, prosciutto, mortadella, yogurt, various cheeses, homemade pastries, fresh fruit, freshly made expresso, tea, or cappuccino ... you can eat your fill for a day. We had a room on the third floor; several rooms had their own balcony, but there was a balcony space for the entire floor as well with a lovely view of St. John the Baptist's Basilica.

From start to finish we had an amazing experience, Carl at reception deserves a mention for his politeness, professionalism, experience and linguistic abilities, no matter what our question was he had the answer, he booked us a reservation in a restaurant without an issue as my Italian is practically non-exist ant, such a remarkable approach to his work, extremely greatful to all the other staff such as cleaning staff, who are so kind and amazing, the staff at the morning buffet are also there at your every request definitely something to be proud of, the rooms where amazing (501), a holiday to remember. Management should be so greatful of their staffs abilities we will have to come back.

We stayed in this hotel for our vacation to Rome for five nights. The hotel was very clean and the staff was great! The breakfast was also very good and was comprised of eggs, bacon, several pastries, breads and cereals etc. Our room was clean and we had no issues with the daily maid service. There is in room bottled water, teas and coffee and afternoon snacks available in the bar area all at no extra charge. The hotel is very close to The Vatican City and across the river from central Rome but very walkable. There is also a bus station very close as well.

We spent 5 nights in this tiny hotel close to the river Tiber. The situation is good - close to Vatican and Sant Angelo - but you have to walk a bit to reach the treasures of centro storico. Anyway it was not a problem and the buss stops are near. As we are great fans of design hotels we took the room on the ground floor where the rooms have been successfully renovated in the modern style. The room was not so sunny but very spacious (height well over 3 meters), functional and designed with a joyfully good taste in materials, colours etc. Every night we have a good peaceful sleep to catch powers to the next day in the fabulous but also very tiring Rome. Breakfast was not fantastic (no Spumante) but very sufficient with various fruits, strawberries, coffees, bacons, eggs etc. Despite the good room and breakfast we really liked the friendly and helpful staff in the reception and the breakfast room. We always got an answer for a question and if they did not know they seeked the answer. We would definately recommend La Rovere for a visitor in Rome. Jari& Eija from Finland
