We've been to Roma before, so this time we were focused on Vatican! The hotel is just a few minutes walk away from Metro (Station: Lepanto), and about 30 minute walk from Vatican. We stayed in Rm. 205. Size was O.K., but decoration was old-fashioned and interesting. The room has very high ceiling. The big plus of this room is that it has its own patio/terrace! It felt so nice to sit under the shade of a big tree, and have this decent sized personal outdoor oasis. Breakfast was good, but nothing special. Will recommend the hotel, especially Room 205!
Hotel Giulio Cesare offered a very comfortable stay. Central location-close to Vatican, Borghese, etc. the hotel staff were informative and warmly helpful. Will definitely stay here again. The rooms were comfortable and the morning breakfast was 5 stars. The hotel's concierge recommended a fabulous restaurant and then the following night made a reservation for us at our request. The gardens happy hour also offered a cool spot for relaxation after long days of walking.
What a wonderful surprise to arrive at this beautiful hotel close to many attractions! The front desk staff was very courteous, helpful and friendly.....speaking English beautifully. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The breakfast was wonderful with varied food choices and cappuccino!! What wonderful memories we will have of our trip to Rome and our stay at this lovely hotel!
This hotel is situated in a quiet residential area. It is very easy getting to most of the famous places on foot. Public transport is good and there are plenty of taxis. We had a superior room which was large with a balcony. The bed was most comfortable. Everywhere was spotless. The breakfast choice was extensive offering both hot and cold food. This hotel is certainly very good value for the service it offers.
Great hotel, historic building, very clean, great breakfast and staff. Perfect and quiet location. My kids specially loved the bunk beds in the room. I would go back to the same hotel! Had an awesome time!
I stayed at this hotel for three nights with my mother and sister for a long weekend break. We had an awkward flight time from the UK which meant we landed in Rome around midnight, we needn't have worried as the hotel easily arranged a driver to greet us at the airport and drive us directly to the hotel for a very reasonable price, taking away the worry of finding a taxi, at midnight when you don't speak the local language! We liked everything about this hotel, the authentic Italian feel, the variety of breakfast options available and fresh cappuccinos, the friendly staff who all spoke perfect English and mostly the hotel owner Vincenzo who spoke to us over breakfast, he was a delightful Italian gentleman who showed a genuine interest in all the guests and where they had traveled from. He even gave us his card and said we could send a post card from our home town, a rare yet wonderful request in the age of email! The Hotel is a short walk from the main bridge where the Vatican bus stop is for all the hop on hop off busses. We walked this each day in around 10-15 minutes in the glorious Italian sunshine, plenty of gelato shops on the way to stop for an irresistible ice cream too! I thought this hotel was brilliant and would definitely visit again.. oh free wi-fi too!
The hotel is located near the historic center, however the room we've got was very small, the bathroom was not renovated, and the bed was terribly uncomfortable. We had a nice balcony, which was nice. The breakfast was okay and the garden with a small bar was helpful as well.
Like 30min walk to piazza popolo and from there everithing is close.Very good breakfast. Free wifi and parking. Very nice and clean. A kind of a palace. Next time ee will try to come again. You can find a very good chinese. restaurant not far..
Beautiful hotel with lots of marble and very inviting entry way leading to lobby, or bar/sitting area. It's classy and elegant. Our room made me feel like a queen. Large room with a large window with a balcony overlooking the patio with an a enormous bathroom. A large armoir with safe and plenty of hangers. The room was extremely clean. There is an annex area to the hotel, but we were in the main hotel. Breakfast was included and it was by far a breakfast for a king. Wonderful wait staff and table clothed tables awaited us. Traditional meats and cheeses, juices, yogurts, breads, fruits, cereal, brushetta, fried eggs, zucchini that had been sauteed, baked tomatoes, hot croissants, wonderful baked goods. It was amazing. How nice it was to see an older man dressed in a dark suit saying good morning to the guests, he personally comes around to his guests. Very lovely. Also one morning we had to leave to meet an early morning tour before the start of breakfast. We discussed this at the front desk who offered to have ready at 6:30 a breakfast bag for us to take. Everyone was so kind. The front desk employees were always so helpful in check in and helping with directions. Also the hotel made arrangements for the three of us to take a car service from the hotel to the airport. You have to know that the hotel is in a residential area. For some people this hotel would be out of the way. But it certainly was not for us. There are restaurants within walking distance of a couple blocks, just not right outside the front door. We choose Hotel Giulio Cesare as it was very close to the metro, and since we had two early morning tours it was close enough to where we had to be. We were 15 minute walk to meet at the Vatican and a 10 minute walk to the Piazza del Popolo. You will not be disappointed staying at this hotel.
We had excellent service - one of us was slightly disabled, used a walking stick and received great care and consideration throughout our stay. The Reception we had on arrival was warm and welcoming. The room was certainly pleasant and easy to access. The spacious bathroom was traditional marble and very much more than acceptable. Breakfast was excellent - with a full range of international choices. Good coffee, excellent service. The staff were very obliging and eager to help.No complaints with service; quality of food or range of options. The location of the hotel was very good...transport nearby - a short walk to the Metropolitana Station Lepanto and to the buses on Via Ciccerone. Several times we chose to walk to Piazza Cavour and the Piazza del Populo in the opposite direction across the river. This was one of several visits we have made to Rome staying in a variety of hotels in different districts. We loved this one - a real treasure!!
