We stayed at Hotel Giulio Cesare for four nights and had a great time. The room was clean with a six foot wide bed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is well situated on the West Bank of the river giving easy access on foot to Vatican City, Piazza del Popolo, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and Pantheon. A little further and you can get to the Coliseum and Forum as well. Only 40 minute walk alongside the river to reach the Stadio Olimpico for those attending football or rugby matches. Highly recommended. We will stay here again.

This is a very comfortable hotel.Nice bar area to relax.Bedroom spacious and warm, very clean.Buffet breakfast very good, good variety of food, and good times 7 to 10 This hotel is in a good position,we walked to the Vatican, straight forward, and walked across the bridge to visit the Spanish steps, and. Trivia fountain, metro nearby to get everywhere else. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly. Some rooms have a small balcony

I booked this hotel only based on the latest reviews. Booked through Agoda website. My observations. We stayed here for 5 days in double classic room. The room was quiet ok. Request for single queen bed but, we got twin bed room, Beds don't meet 4 star quality, not very comfortable but ok. Bathrooms are bit small, with old mirrors with rust, wardrobes are spacious, room service and front desk is efficient. The corridor was cosy and best part. Few reviews mentioned about hotel staff remember guests by names, this we havent noticed or other guest we interacted in 5 days mentioned this. But staff at breakfast were helpful as any other hotel. One review mentioned breakfast served in garden, this is not true atleast during our stay. Breakfast is served in underground. This was one of the reason to shortlist this hotel. Garden area is bar with only snack options. The 5 start REVIEWS were totally contradicting with our personal experience, hope they are honest and not a good PR. To my understanding 5 star review has to be very impressive ( outstanding in all departments). Our Good, bad and worst experience. Good. 1. Near metro station only 2 block away. 2. Located in residential area which is quiet. 3. 15 to 20 min ( 3 to 4 Km) walk to Vatican city. 4. Breakfast staff and room service were efficient and helpful. Bad. 1. Being in residential area there is no near by restaurant/eatery or shopping area. At least 15 min walk to small requirement/shopping. 2. Old hotel, not for YOUNGER generation, no activity centre. 3. Same breakfast, no change through out our stay, first two day toster was not working, however fixed on 3 day. 4. Beds and bathrooms are old with barely working heater. 5. No in-house restaurant, no pool, no gym, no activity centre. 6. Requested for single queen bed room but we got twin bed room and our REQUEST ignored throughout our stay. Worst. 1. You can easily hear sound from neighbouring rooms, our neighbour kept TV on thoughtout night, quiet irritating. 2. You can hear loude noise from BATH room when flushed, our room toilet pipeline and bed headrest was same wall. We asked for room change immediately after check in but, front desk mentioned unavailability of room, we had to say for 5 days. 3. No/one thread strength Wi-Fi in rooms. Informed about it, but front desk said can't help much, asked to come out in lobby and browse. Lastly we had our return flight late in the evening and it's was rainy day, we planned to check out and keep our luggage in front desk and leave by 4 pm to airport. Due to rain we had to stay back at hotel, the regular check out time is and we requested for extension for couple of hours. Front desk charged 50 euro for extension till 5 pm, please plan accordingly. Our Venice hotel gave extension at zero charge, but it's ok, we were ok to pay. happy that we are not asked to check out and keep luggage in front desk. Had couple of hrs power nap and recharged for next flight. This is our experience at this hotel. Hope this review is helpful.

I had a great 4 night work stay at this hotel. I have nothing but praise for the service, location and value for money. Location was quiet and close enough to walk to my work areas. Also, since I had minimal luggage, it was an easy train, metro and and walk from FCO airport. Lovely breakfast, excellent staff - special mention to the fluently multi-lingual Patrick at the front desk. The staff were the highlight of my stay. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean. Will definitely stay again.

Hotel Giulio Caesar is as majestic as the name suggests. The lounge and entrance are decorated with antiques and tapestries. A hearty breakfast is served in the garden and there’s free parking. The fireplace is lit in winter and the leather, high backed chairs in the lounge are perfect for reflecting on the day’s events.

We stayed at the Giulio Cesare for a week and we could not have been happier with our stay. Knowing we would be visiting with my brother in law -a priest- near St. Peter's, we booked this hotel based on the recommendation of my sister who stayed here many years ago. While there are many choices closer to the many attractions, we loved the location in a residential area away from the noise and crowds. The rooms, public spaces, breakfast area and garden area are spotless and the staff works hard to make the place shine! Our three rooms were all in the main building and offered high ceilings and seating although the mattresses were quite firm and may not be to everyone's liking. The breakfast was awesome and the staff really go out of their way to please the guests. The bar area is another bonus and a great spot for evening cocktails. While there is no restaurant, there is a bar menu offering sandwiches and snacks. The wifi was a bit spotty at times and there are no irons at all, which became a running joke, but overall, we had a terrific stay. A big thank you to the engaging Emmanuel who kept things lively at the bar, front desk concierge Patrick, who helped with many of our dinner plans (and suffered the most about not having an iron!) and Youseff, who we met on our first night at the bar and the next morning at breakfast. A great locale for exploring the sights in Rome proper and the Vatican.

From the beautiful doors as you walk in, to the charming receptionist, cozy bar with comfy chairs and a piano, to the beautiful rooms, large relaxing garden almost like in Eden.... All was perfect. Oh, I forgot to mention the abundant breakfast with fresh puffy rolls, salads, meats, pastries.... It was so hard not to overeat. I can't wait to stay there again.

Very good hotel , quite and very pleasnt Good breakfast , very estatic . The room is comftable . It`s very close to the Tiber river and to the Vatikan . Friendly staff try to do the best and to help you . a Taxi to the center is 10 ero . very clean , love to stay in the hotel

we stayed at the Guilio Cesare September 19th and 20th. What we really liked is the hotel is in a fairly quiet mostly residential area yet within walking distance to many of the attractions. I believe it took about 10-15 min. to walk to St. Peter's Basilica area. The metro is nearby too. There are many good restaurants within a 3-4 block area that were not stuffed with tourists, rather locals, families and friends. Our room could use a little updating and was a little small. That said it was very nice, the bathroom was highly functional and nice. The breakfast was plentiful with everything from rolls, cheeses, eggs and various coffees. I would return.

We stayed here for two nights prior to a cruise. The location is excellent in my opinion. A ten minute walk to the Vatican, ten minutes to Piazza del Popolo and other sites. Very quiet neighborhood near shopping and restaurants. We had a standard room which was on the smaller side but was clean, well appointed and functional in all regards. We walked form here to many of the sites in Rome including the Coliseum, Roman Forum, Vatican and Trevi Fountain. We will be booking again soon!!
