The location of the hotel is excellent. I came in Rome by plane and they reserved for me a taxi from the airport to the hotel (48euros). The hotel is located near Tiber in a very quiet zone. It is a family business and every morning the senior owner was visiting us in the morning at breakfast to ask us if everything was ok; I considered it was a very nice habit. Although the bus and subway stations are quite close, I walked to almost all commonly visiting destinations in Rome (I did between 13 and 16 km a day on foot!); Vatican, for example, is at 15 minutes away. Good, large rooms; very good beds; large bathroom – no slippers, no bathrobe. Everything was very clean. The breakfast was complete, from all points of view and very nice served. A nice bar with the nicest bartender. And I stress over the entire personnel which was very attentive, kind, prompt on every request.
Superbly located boutique hotel, close to the banks of the Tiber. You can stroll to the City centre sights or Vatican very easily, and there are some cracking restaurants and Gelateria nearby. The marble floored reception area is lovely. The staff are all really friendly and willing to engage in conversation. The courtyard garden area and bar were delightful places to sit and sup on a drink. The only let down was our room in the annexe, where we ended up sleeping on food up single beds (not quite what we’d hoped for on a rare break without our children.) Plus apart from our first morning the shower was at best lukewarm, and at worst Baltic. Despite that ai would happily go back.
Our touring group of 28 stayed here the last 3 nights of our 2-week trip to Tuscany and Umbria. A lovely finish to our trip. The staff was very attentive to our needs. Rooms had high ceilings and elegant accents. Spotlessly clean. Wonderful breakfast with attentive waitstaff!
This hotel was nice the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was nice but no shower curtain or patrician. Which was odd water goes all over the floor but there was a drain. But the best was their breakfast it was amazing. So fresh and tasty!! Lots of fruit, pastries, bread, hot dishes, cold cuts, awesome bacon! Loved it! Also the front desk clerk was very helpful and friendly.
A boutique hotel on the Vatican side of the Tiber river approx 800 metres from the Piazza del Popolo. The hotel is neat and tidy, the room was more than adequate. The reception staff were excellent and the breakfast team superb. Breakfast options suited our British tastes. Only downside was the poor options available in the evenings. The staff member responsible was very good but food options were very limited and straight out of the freezer via the microwave.
We stayed at Hotel Giulio Cesare for four nights and had a great time. The room was clean with a six foot wide bed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is well situated on the West Bank of the river giving easy access on foot to Vatican City, Piazza del Popolo, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and Pantheon. A little further and you can get to the Coliseum and Forum as well. Only 40 minute walk alongside the river to reach the Stadio Olimpico for those attending football or rugby matches. Highly recommended. We will stay here again.
This is a very comfortable hotel.Nice bar area to relax.Bedroom spacious and warm, very clean.Buffet breakfast very good, good variety of food, and good times 7 to 10 This hotel is in a good position,we walked to the Vatican, straight forward, and walked across the bridge to visit the Spanish steps, and. Trivia fountain, metro nearby to get everywhere else. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly. Some rooms have a small balcony
I booked this hotel only based on the latest reviews. Booked through Agoda website. My observations. We stayed here for 5 days in double classic room. The room was quiet ok. Request for single queen bed but, we got twin bed room, Beds don't meet 4 star quality, not very comfortable but ok. Bathrooms are bit small, with old mirrors with rust, wardrobes are spacious, room service and front desk is efficient. The corridor was cosy and best part. Few reviews mentioned about hotel staff remember guests by names, this we havent noticed or other guest we interacted in 5 days mentioned this. But staff at breakfast were helpful as any other hotel. One review mentioned breakfast served in garden, this is not true atleast during our stay. Breakfast is served in underground. This was one of the reason to shortlist this hotel. Garden area is bar with only snack options. The 5 start REVIEWS were totally contradicting with our personal experience, hope they are honest and not a good PR. To my understanding 5 star review has to be very impressive ( outstanding in all departments). Our Good, bad and worst experience. Good. 1. Near metro station only 2 block away. 2. Located in residential area which is quiet. 3. 15 to 20 min ( 3 to 4 Km) walk to Vatican city. 4. Breakfast staff and room service were efficient and helpful. Bad. 1. Being in residential area there is no near by restaurant/eatery or shopping area. At least 15 min walk to small requirement/shopping. 2. Old hotel, not for YOUNGER generation, no activity centre. 3. Same breakfast, no change through out our stay, first two day toster was not working, however fixed on 3 day. 4. Beds and bathrooms are old with barely working heater. 5. No in-house restaurant, no pool, no gym, no activity centre. 6. Requested for single queen bed room but we got twin bed room and our REQUEST ignored throughout our stay. Worst. 1. You can easily hear sound from neighbouring rooms, our neighbour kept TV on thoughtout night, quiet irritating. 2. You can hear loude noise from BATH room when flushed, our room toilet pipeline and bed headrest was same wall. We asked for room change immediately after check in but, front desk mentioned unavailability of room, we had to say for 5 days. 3. No/one thread strength Wi-Fi in rooms. Informed about it, but front desk said can't help much, asked to come out in lobby and browse. Lastly we had our return flight late in the evening and it's was rainy day, we planned to check out and keep our luggage in front desk and leave by 4 pm to airport. Due to rain we had to stay back at hotel, the regular check out time is 12.pm and we requested for extension for couple of hours. Front desk charged 50 euro for extension till 5 pm, please plan accordingly. Our Venice hotel gave extension at zero charge, but it's ok, we were ok to pay. happy that we are not asked to check out and keep luggage in front desk. Had couple of hrs power nap and recharged for next flight. This is our experience at this hotel. Hope this review is helpful.
I had a great 4 night work stay at this hotel. I have nothing but praise for the service, location and value for money. Location was quiet and close enough to walk to my work areas. Also, since I had minimal luggage, it was an easy train, metro and and walk from FCO airport. Lovely breakfast, excellent staff - special mention to the fluently multi-lingual Patrick at the front desk. The staff were the highlight of my stay. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean. Will definitely stay again.
Hotel Giulio Caesar is as majestic as the name suggests. The lounge and entrance are decorated with antiques and tapestries. A hearty breakfast is served in the garden and there’s free parking. The fireplace is lit in winter and the leather, high backed chairs in the lounge are perfect for reflecting on the day’s events.
